My mother looked at me,she said seriously,"Elena,are you so cold that you want nothing to do with me anymore?"
"All these years,I've raised you alone.Now that you see your grandparents’ family is rich,you want to abandon me?"
Looking at her like this,I suddenly couldn't tell whether she was just arguing with my aunt or still had a bit of love in her for me as my mother.But I had suffered so much over the years.Even if I didn't return to the Summers,I couldn't stand her cold words and Amanda's bullying anymore.I wanted to escape from her!

"You’re no longer my mother!"
My mother trembled with anger when she heard my decision."Very well...I've long been fed up with you,a burden!Coincidentally,I'm getting remarried soon.I was still worried that Mandy would mind your presence!"
After saying that,she picked up her expensive bag and left without looking back at me.My aunt could tell that I was in a bad mood and hugged me.

After graduation,I went abroad to study as I had wished.Before I left,Amanda came to show off to me,saying,"Your mother and my father are getting married.Are you sure you don't want to come to their wedding?"
I looked at her and smiled calmly."What does that have to do with me?"

Her attempt to provoke me failed,and she left feeling embarrassed.
Later,I would occasionally call my grandparents and aunt.
They were all very concerned about how I was doing at school.They heard that fruits were expensive abroad and were afraid I would be reluctant to buy them.
So,my aunt asked her friends abroad to send me several boxes of fruits and even found a private chef to cook for me at home.

My grandfather was worried that I wouldn't be able to make friends alone,so he asked me if I needed someone to accompany me while I studied.I laughed and said,"I'm an adult now.Don't worry about me."
My grandparents were too old to fly abroad to see me often,so usually,my aunt would come to visit me during holidays.
One afternoon,my aunt came to see me with a bunch of domestic snacks and asked me if my schoolwork was busy recently.
I was good at studying myself,so I always handled my studies with ease.
My aunt said,"Fortunately,our Elena has inherited my brother's excellent genes.She's smart and good at studying!"
"Unlike that Amanda,who can only mooch off her family and do nothing else..."
Since I parted ways with my mother,I rarely heard Amanda's name again.According to my aunt,Amanda didn't study hard at the art college.She just spent her days partying and going to nightclubs with a bunch of her so called friends.
Her father wasn't any better.He was just a freeloader,living off my mother's money.My mother used to run a small company with a good income.
But since Charles got involved,he embezzled public funds and acted all high-and-mighty,ruining my mother's company and leaving it heavily in debt.
"Your mother is such a hopeless romantic.Even now,she still won't divorce him and is dead-set on supporting that parasitic father-daughter pair,"my aunt said angrily.
She was angry that her brother had fallen for such a woman and had given her all the hard-earned money he had worked for all his life.
I held my aunt's hand and comforted her,"It's all in the past now.Her affairs have nothing to do with us from now on."
