My goal was mostly accomplished.I hadn’t come to confront Daniel—I’d used my position as his wife to make Steven see Daniel’s true nature.
Steven was the real danger, the one who’d killed me.
As for Daniel,a man with a death sentence didn’t need my interference. His fate was sealed.

I texted Daniel, saying I needed a few days alone to think about our relationship and would stay at a friend’s place, telling him not to look for me.
He replied with a simple“Okay.”
A week later,he texted again, saying his company was sending him to Bay City for a three-month business trip.Since the house would be empty,he suggested I move back.He also added some caring words about my safety and health.
Those were Daniel’s last words to me.
A month later, his death was reported.
Just like my last life,he was inspecting a construction site when a steel plate fell from above, killing him instantly.

His body was so badly mangled that it couldn’t be transported, so he was cremated on the spot, and his ashes were brought back.
At the funeral,Daniel’s parents, just like before, got down on their knees and begged me to keep the baby.
I put on a performance.
“Mom,Dad,how could you say that? With Daniel gone,I’m even more determined to raise this child.”

“This child is Daniel’s only legacy.I’ll raise him well and make him successful.”
“Don’t worry—Daniel left enough money.Even if it runs out,I won’t let the child suffer. For this child,I’ll stay strong.”
In my last life, lost in grief,I’d only briefly reassured them.So when I was killed, people assumed I’d followed Daniel in despair.
This time,I made my resolve clear. If they tried to harm me,they’d have to think twice.
Steven, absent for weeks, appeared at the funeral.
He was dazed, barely speaking—a stark contrast to my last life.
Back then,despite his grief,he had purpose.This time,after Daniel’s betrayal,he seemed like a shell of a man, completely drained.
Two months later,I gave birth to a boy,and nicknamed Tommy.
Tommy’s arrival brought a glimmer of joy to Daniel’s parents’faces—the only bright spot in their grief.
On August 14,the day I died in my last life,I looked at Tommy sleeping peacefully in my arms and drifted off.
Although the one who killed me hadn’t paid the ultimate price,I was content to fucos on raising Tommy this time.
But just as I was ready to let go of my thirst for revenge, greed reared its ugly head.
A noise woke me.Several figures stood in my room—Daniel’s parents and Steven.
I screamed,“What do you want?”
Daniel’s mom sneered,“To send you where you belong.Daniel’s lonely down there—go keep him company.”
“No!I have to raise Tommy.Mom,I’m your daughter-in-law,your grandson’s mother—why are you doing this?”
“You’re young.You won’t stay widowed.You’ll remarry,taking my grandson and all that money.If you die,the money’s ours,and we’ll truly care for Tommy.”
Daniel’s dad snarled,“Enough blabbering. Villains always meet their end by running their mouths. Get it done. Her death will put an end to this.”
I turned to Steven.“Why?Daniel betrayed you.Why are you still so fixated on him?”
Steven’s eyes sharpened.“You knew everything all along.I knew you were trying to drive a wedge between Daniel and me.”
I shouted,“Did I force him to cheat?Wasn’t it his own lack of loyalty?”
“You all have your noble excuses, but it’s just about Daniel’s$10 million insurance payout, isn’t it?”
