Suppressing my rage,I spoke coldly,“Come to the villa.We need to talk.”
The agents and buyers were stunned,turning on Liam.“You’re not the owner?How do you have keys?!”
“Are you a scammer?”

Liam,still smug,sneered.“This is my girlfriend’s.When she gets here,you’ll see.”
Half an hour later,Emily rushed in.Liam grabbed her hand.“Emily,finally!I saw your company’s struggling,so I was helping by selling this place.”
Emily yanked her hand away,turning to me.“Honey,I swear I didn’t know he’d do this!It’s not my fault!”
Liam’s eyes widened,shaking his head.“What?!Emily,I did this for you!”
“And!You’re divorced—he said he didn’t want the house, after all!”
He glared at me.“Get out,or I’m calling the cops!”

I burst out laughing,mocking him,“You didn’t graduate high school,but you can read,right?”
“The divorce agreement said I didn’t take Emily’s pre-marital house.This one’s mine.”
“You love taking my stuff?Take it—oh,and Emily’s house has over a million in loans.”
Liam spun to Emily,who stood frozen,face dark.

The agents realized, threatening to call the police.“You posed as the owner!Wasting our time,nearly scamming us!”
I told the agents,“I’m planning to sell anyway.Keep looking.”
I found their affair-tainted home disgusting.
Emily,thinking I was there to help, looked at me tenderly.“Honey,I knew you wouldn’t abandon me.You still love me,right?”
“Once we remarry,I’ll buy you a better one!”
“Remarry?!”Liam snapped,losing his cool. “Emily, you said you’d marry me when we were in bed!”
Emily shoved him.“Stop lying!I never did anything with you!You seduced me!”
Liam,stunned,then laughed maniacally.“Nothing?Who was in bed with me at the villa that night?!”
He lunged,choking me,cursing,“It’s all your fault!Without you,Emily would’ve married me!”
I gasped for air as others managed to pull him off me.Emily,frantic,steadied me,checking for injuries.“You okay?”
I pushed her away,stormed out,and had my lawyer call the police.The others,spooked,fled.
Guilty,Liam tried to drag Emily away.
She resisted,and they tussled in the street,oblivious to an oncoming car.
A loud crash—both collapsed.
I gasped.What could I do?I felt completely helpless.
The police I’d called arrived and dialed 911.
The ambulance was too late.Emily died on the spot,and Liam became a vegetable.Rumor has it,my aunt sold their town land for medical bills,and the mayor,furious,exiled them.
