This was absolutely insane!

I was just heading to graduation when I got hit by that car.

How did I end up being accused of risking my life to force a divorce from Adrian?

One of us had lost our mind—either me or Adrian.

"Adrian, wait!"

Before I could finish, a little boy burst into the room and launched himself into Adrian's arms.

Me: ???

What an adorable kid! I reached out to pinch his chubby cheeks, but he flinched and buried himself deeper in Adrian's arms.

"Sorry, little guy! You're just too cute—I couldn't resist."

Adrian shot me a disapproving look, as if to say I'd interrupted him for nothing.

"Look, Adrian, this sounds crazy, but I don't remember any of this. The last thing I remember is heading to graduation…"

Adrian cut me off with an impatient wave.

"So you're claiming amnesia now?"

Amnesia?

Yes! That would explain everything!

I nodded eagerly, relief washing over me.

Adrian's face remained stone-cold as he pulled out a document and tossed it onto my lap.

"Here's the divorce agreement with all your requested terms. No objections? Then sign it."

I opened my mouth, but nothing came out.

The little boy's lip quivered at the word "divorce."

"Hey, maybe we shouldn't talk about this in front of someone's child? It could be upsetting for him."

"Could we maybe discuss this later?"

Adrian let out a harsh laugh.

"Someone else's child? Leah, your amnesia act is impressive. This is OUR son."

"And you weren't worried about his emotional health when you were cozying up with another man over dinner."

The first shock hadn't even registered when the second hit me like a truck. I stared at the little boy, my mind spinning.

So not only was I married—I had a child?!

The boy ignored me completely, burying his face in Adrian's neck as if I didn't exist.

Too much information. System failure. My brain shut down.
