Things have been a whirlwind recently. Everyone was busy or caught up in something, it has been a while since we sat down together to relax not to talk about the packs welfare.

The move had gone smoothly. As expected, some people had decided to stay behind. They were mostly elderly that were bound by memories the land held. Some of their family members bound by duty decided to stay with them.


Sonia didn't come with us.

She did apologize before we left but fortunately, she didn't try to build any relationship or try to force a conversation. I have moved on from the past but that didn't mean that I wanted anything to do with it. Ash did follow, he pledged his loyalty to Xander but I think he's actually loyal to Hera. So far, he's been nothing but a great help but I was still watching. My trust was something that was hard to earn now


'Hey Luna!" Grey shouted from the door. I smiled and waved.

I watched him walk towards me. The limp was almost non-existent by now and his wolf had finally synchronized with him. He had joined us for the last hunting. Hera said the limp was taking this long because of some mental trauma or something like that.

'What are you doing out here by yourself?"

'Taking a well deserved break. Madam Kimmy and Marenza are whipping up something for lunch and their ordering me about so much."

'It's scary how they forget how important and powerful you are."

'Yes!!" I lamented with a smile.

Grey laughed in response.

'How are things going?"

He sighed and leaned on me, resting his head on my shoulder. 'The town's progression is as fast as Alpha Xander wants it. In a matter of days, everyone should have a house."

'Thank the Goddess. Sometimes, I feel like everything is happening too fast and it's all too good to be true."

'Me too but I deal with it by thinking about the smiles around me. Even though it's all a dream or there's danger ahead of us, I'll do it all again for them."

'Yeah."

We sat in a comfortable silence, listening to the sound of children running and playing happily, hammer continuously hitting something and Marenza ordering poor Jean around.

It sounded like home.

'My brother is tainting the priestess again isn't he?"

Liam and Hera didn't bother announcing their relationship, everyone just took it as something that was inevitable or the norm.

Grey laughed, 'You have a very amusing way of using your words."

'I'm just being honest," I replied with a smug smile. 'How are you actually feeling? I know that the ongoing jobs are demanding and tasking, I also know that you might have buried yourself in work because that's easier."

Grey sighed, 'At first, I felt empty without Adrian's presence but luckily, that didn't last long. Then, it became weird learning how to live with him in my body and mind space. That's something we were never thought because we were born at the same time. I'm not sure I'll ever get used to the fact that he can just pop out anytime he wants without having to shift fully."

That was something no one expected, apparently a beta had never been able to do that. Hera had kept him in bed for days, checking him over and over to ensure this was the only side effect that the sorcerer left behind.

'And now?"

I smiled when a pout appeared on his face, there was nothing to worry about.

'He has developed an annoying habit of popping out to just stare at Damien or just cuddle with him."

'Are you sure he's the one and not you?" I asked with a laugh.

'I'm innocent!" The slight colouring on his cheeks made me disagree.

Damien and Grey were taking whatever was going on between them really slow. It was very frustrating and cute to watch but seeing that Adrian had no problem with it, then there was no need worrying.

'How is it that you're here slacking off when there's still work to do?" Regan asked, an amuse smirk on his face. By his side was a smiling Xander.

'This is one of my multiple breaks," Grey replied. He had gotten comfortable with Regan very quickly, their relationship gave off a younger and elder brother vibe. It was cute.

'Your mate is more terrifying when she's with madam Kimmy, you know this," I said.

'You shouldn't be saying that with such a loud voice," Regan whispered looking around. The rest of us laughed at his antics.

'Hey baby," Xander placed a kiss on my forehead the moment he stood in front of me. Taking in a deep breath, I let myself bask in his peculiar scent.

'You smell nice."

He chuckled, 'only you would think so love. I'm all sweaty and dusty."

'I like the sweaty part."

Grey chuckled as Regan cleared his throat. His eyes were glinting with amusement when I looked at his direction.

'Is everything for today almost done or did the scent of food drag you two here?" I asked. I made no move to shift from his side.

'A bit of the both. Most of the houses are complete, they just started cleaning up when Regan perceived something delightful."

'Throwing it all on me now huh?" Regan joked.

'Given how you have the freaking ability to know the exact moment your mate's food is almost cooked, you just have to bear it," Xander replied with a chuckle.

'Yeah, yeah," Regan huffed in the midst of our laughter.

Jean stumbled out of the kitchen, panting and holding her chest dramatically. Her eyes looked around before landing on me, she narrowed them, 'The next time, you would be the only one in there."

Grey and I almost doubled over in our laughing fit, Jean had a small smile on her face.

'On a serious note, they're done. Marenza demands that you all should come carry the food out."

'I'll just stick to directing them," I murmured.

'I don't care if you're Luna or not," Marenza hollered from the kitchen obviously hearing my comment. 'I will…"

'YOU SLY THING!!" I heard Hera scream, indirectly saving me from a scolding. We turned to see her running towards us, Liam was behind her looking as confused as we felt.

'What's going on?" Xander asked. There was no surprise from me, Hera was always up to something.

'They've been hiding well all this time…"

The atmosphere shifted immediately. Xander pulled me closer to his tense body, Grey and Regan took defensive stances that somehow kept Jean and I behind, while I called on my powers.

Liam who had reached us some minutes ago let out a growl as his eyes scanned the area.

'What's wrong with all of you? Leila is just some months pregnant with twins, there's no need to be dramatic."

Silence.

'Damn…" Lea whispered in shock.
