Leaving the pack and it's protective wards felt weird, wrong. Leaving was also necessary, we needed to destroy Antonio quickly.


'Be careful" Xander said through the mind link to Hera and Grey.

We were all in our wolf form. They would stay like that till they reach a distance, then Hera would teleport them into Lucian's pack.

'Yes Alpha" they chorused.


'See you soon" Grey added.

We parted ways with Xander in the lead. Lea was doing a great job in keeping her excitement contained. This was all new territory for her but she understood that it wasn't the time to explore. The atmosphere was sober.


I wonder how many people were still alive in the pack. How much Antonio's destruction speared.

'You okay?" Xander asked through our link. I was running closer to him than the rest.

'Yeah. I'm just thinking about Marenza and the pack."

Xander had told me about Regan's death. He was among the people that Antonio killed when they ambushed him. Marenza must have been heartbroken, the pain from losing her mate would have been too much, the loss of all her childhood friends won't have made things easier.

How happy would she be to see Xander? Would she blame him?

'I'm more afraid of her reaction than facing Antonio" Xander confessed after a while. 'I shouldn't have left Regan behind."

'Do you think he would have stayed? He's not the type to watch you head out into danger and do nothing about it."

'You're right."

Our bond filled with deep sadness and guilt. I couldn't comfort him right now, the soldiers needed him to be strong right now. So, I sent comforting emotions to him.

'Thanks mate."

'Always. We'll have revenge soon."

'Of course."

'I can sense roughly ten wolves around, they may be more" Xander said.

We were close to the border of our pack. There was no encounter on the way, it was alarming but if Antonio was planning an attack, then summoning most of his men would be something he would have done. Still, leaving a pack with minimal protection was unwise.

'We will deal with it Alpha" Liam said. Damien and five other wolves were behind him as he ran off.

The plan was killing or knocking them out, we didn't need anyone running back to Antonio.

'I need each one of you alive at the end of this. Watch out for each other and don't underestimate the enemy" Xander said to the remaining soldiers.

'Yes Alpha."

It didn't take long for Liam to announce that they were done.

'The traitors are occupying the edge of the pack. The pack ostracized them" Liam said.

'Let's move in!!" Xander announced.

We quickly divided into three groups. Xander, Liam and I led one each.

'Be safe love."

'You too Alpha."

I howled and ran into the pack. Xander headed towards the edge of the pack, the traitors were his.

'How…what?!" a startled guard said as he came out from his house, 'Invad…"

His shout was cut short by Liam's teeth in his neck. I could feel Lea's glee as she watched the blood shed.

The body was discarded and Liam broke down the door of the house. Soon, screams left the house.

Guard started pouring out of other houses, some died before they could shift. Women ran naked out of one of the houses. Even through their wet faces, I could recognize them, the blood between some of their legs was telling.

Those bastards!!

Lea growled and joined the slaughter. I ignored the taste of blood as we left bodies behind us, separating head from bodies so fast.

I knew Lea's fur would be covered by blood with the way she was going. She was enjoying this way too much.

‘Like you aren't enjoying this too'

‘I am but your excitement is more than mine.'

We clawed out the guts of one of the guards that tried to sneak up on us. Liam's group ensured that no one ran into the forest, enemy or former pack member.

‘Hurry, I need to find Marenza.'

Lea growled and increased her speed, getting more ferocious. Soon, surviving guards began to retreat but they also met their end.

They were not much so this massacre didn't take long.

'Liam" I called through the link.

'Coming!" He replied.

A wolf dropped a bag in front of me and I picked it up. I ran into a nearby house and changed into the clothes after shifting. Ignoring the blood painting my body, I left the house.

Outside was a mess, blood and bodies littered the floor. Our wolf had started gathering the bodies in a pile.

Liam came to my side, 'you good?" he asked.

I nodded, he had somehow found water to wash his body and had also shifted.

'Any word from the Alpha?"

'No, I don't want to disturb him so I haven't asked him anything. He's okay and unharmed" I replied.

'Good, where are we heading to?"

'I saw a group of…women running out of one of the houses. The guards were also in it."

Liam's face became grim as he understood what I was indirectly saying.

'I intend to heal them and find out where Marenza is."

'Marenza?"

'The woman who was the closest thing to a mother to me."

Hera had taught me how to access my healing powers and how to use them properly. Although, this would be the largest amount of people I had healed, it was still the same process.

The women were huddled in a corner, shivering and trying to look small.

'Wait here" I said to Liam. He complied without a fuss. Given what they had gone through, an unknown male approaching them won't be received well.

'Hey…" I said, approaching them gently. '...I'm here to help."

They stared at me with wide eyes, their shivering increasing subconsciously. One of them blinked, 'Leila?"

'Yes, it's me." She looked familiar, maybe one of Amelia's friends.

'I thought…they said you were dead…" she began to hyperventilate, '...they…everyday…they…"

'Shh…it's okay now." I carefully began to pet her hair and she started crying, '... we're here now. I can make the pain stop."

'...how?..." I observed that the shaking had reduced and Liam had inched closer, his worry obvious on his face.

'I can heal your wounds…I just need permission to touch your body, is that okay?"

'...it won't…it won't hurt?" She asked me.

'No, it won't. You'll just feel really good."

'Okay…I'll go first…" she turned to the other ladies, '... okay?"

They nodded, their eyes still wide but the initial panic was leaving them.
