Antonio
I woke up with a start.
I just lost something important.
'Can you sense Amelia?" I asked my wolf.
'No, her aura just disappeared. I think she just died."
Growling, I got up from my bed and grabbed a robe.
'Get me the sorcerer!" I ordered to the guards at my door as I left the room and headed to the throne room.
Why didn't she reach out to me before she died? Is it because she underestimated her opponent? If she did, then she must have assumed the person was weak and alone or with other weak people.
Based on that, it'll mean that Damien killed my daughter or she fought with a total stranger. Why?
'Get out!!' I shouted and the maids cleaning scrambled away like rats. Pathetic creatures.
'Are you sure you want to test me right now?" I looked at the guards.
They rushed out.
'Fuck!!"
Killing my men to clear my mind was useless right now.
'My Lord."
'My daughter is dead." I said to the bowing sorcerer.
'My condolences…"
'She didn't mind link me before she died but you can still track her through our link, can't you?"
'More like I can see what she saw in her last moments."
'Okay fine. Do what you need to do. Tell me, without Amelia can I still be able to become an immortal?"
'Yes, but the ritual will be longer because we have to drain all of Leila's powers. Please, sit my Lord. Try not to think troubling thoughts."
He grabbed my right wrist and stared into my eyes like he was reading the things behind them.
'This will be a weird experience for you my Lord but try to remember it's not reality."
I stared at him, 'you may begin."
'The guards are outside the door, I asked them to stay there. It's for your safety."
I ignored him.
He whispered something under his breath and tightened his hold on my wrist. Pressing down on the middle part.
The room went dark.
‘Antonio…'
I opened my eyes and saw my wolf looking down at me.
‘Peru…how is this possible?"
‘Don't question things my Lord.'
I turned and saw the sorcerer stretching his hands to me. I grabbed it and got up.
‘Your wolf looks majestic my Lord.'
‘You don't look bad yourself. Now, follow me.' Peru replied and took the lead.
We walked behind him. The place looked foggy, the only clear thing was a blue line.
‘What is this place?' I asked.
‘It's where your mind link is. It's only one line meaning you are linked to only one person."
‘It looks faint.'
‘Your daughter is dead. Her link with you is fading away.'
‘Something is wrong.' Peru said. There was a thick wall in front of us.
‘Hmm…' The sorcerer walked up to Peru and stood beside him, studying the wall. ‘Someone blocked your daughter's ability to mind link with you my Lord.'
‘Is that possible?'
‘It's a lost practice my Lord, so we knew sorcerers can't do it but there are records of people being able to block the mind link of any kind.'
Peru walked away to study all sides of the wall.
‘There is no manual on how to do it?'
‘No my Lord. Mental magic is something that is taught under the supervision of an expert. Trying to learn without help will lead to damage of the mind that is why there are no manuals on any form of mental magic.'
‘I found something' Peru said.
‘The line is getting more invincible my Lord, we must hurry.'
We rushed to Peru's side. The wall in front of him was foggy but penetrable.
‘We have to go in' I urged.
‘I don't know what is beyond the wall and how it'll affect you if you cross it my lord.'
‘I support him Antonio.'
‘There is someone out there that can block mind links, that person came in contact with my daughter and she died. I'll gather any clue I can. This person can lead me to Leila or better still teach me this power.'
‘You're getting greedy Antonio.'
I ignored Peru and turned to the sorcerer.
‘You're coming in with me. Peru will wait out here, he'll pull us out if anything happens.'
‘Yes my lord.'
Peru nodded and let me enter.
The scene changed as we crossed the wall. We were in a forest and it was night.
Amelia was in front of us.
'Fucking rock!" she cursed as she lay on the floor.
'Maybe I should leave this forest. I've searched here for too long" she murmured as she got up and dusted herself.
‘These are her memories before the link was blocked' said my sorcerer.
I didn't reply, my focus was on the scene before me. The only scent was that of the forest and Amelia. No one was with her.
Amelia stepped forward and paused.
'What the?"
I watched in shock as her upper body disappeared.
‘A shielded pack' whispered the sorcerer in awe.
I went to Amelia's side and copied her posture.
Only to see a quiet village in front of me. It was large.
‘Goddess…' I whispered.
There was no way a village like this could be found if someone searched. Finding this like Amelia did was by pure luck.
‘I never expected to see such a thing like this in my life time' the sorcerer said beside me.
I still couldn't pick up any familiar scent.
‘My Lord, we need to hurry.'
I nodded and stepped forward.
Peru pulled me back before I could enter the mouth of a large snake that appeared out of nowhere.
My heart was beating so hard. I swallowed and looked around, I was back in the throne room.
The sorcerer knelt in front of me, panting with blood dropping from his nose.
I sagged into my chair. My mind reeling from the shock.
What? What just happened?? Where did that snake come from? If I'd died there, would I have died in the real world?
'...my Lord, you're bleeding."
