Leila opened the bathroom door allowing steam to escape. She came out dressed in my t-shirt and drying her hair.


'I am exhausted."

I was lying on the bed and watching her. Over time, we'd started behaving like a couple according to madam Kimmy. Leila was even beginning to scent like me.

She still doesn't know that I'm her mate, but sometimes I could feel her wolf watching me curiously.


'Come here."

Leila switched off the lights and crawled to me.


I positioned her properly on my chest. One of her legs in between my legs and the other hooked up.

'Hey" I called when she settled down.

She raised her head, smiling at me 'Hi."

Her crotch was directly on top mine. God knows how many cold showers and private sessions I've had in these past weeks.

They were worth it. Leila trusted me and saw me as a place of comfort and security.

Apart from the thoughts I have of ravishing her that would go unfulfilled for now, everything was perfect.

'I was really scared today."

I stroked her back and let her pour it out. Hera was still teaching her how to control her powers and she was a fast learner. Hera was also adding little lessons on shifting but that was going slower.

Lea had taken over for a moment to snap at Hera.

Leila was terrified while Hera was amused and saw it as progress.

'Is it always like that for you? Being able to see, hear but not have control of your body at all?"

'Yes. But I trust my wolf so, the process isn't terrifying for me."

'But you don't let your wolf out like that. It's only when you shift that I see him."

Because I don't know if he'll have the control I have.

Hala scoffed, 'of course I do, I don't chant mate in your head do I?"

I smirked.

'He's talking to you now isn't he?"

'He is."

'What's his name?" Her fingers began to trace my tattoo.

'Hala."

'Hala…"

He drifted closer as if drawn to her voice.

'And you claim to have control." I stated amused.

'Mine is called Lea."

I could feel her watching me through Leila's eyes.

'Such a beautiful name."

'I wish I could shift at least once, so I can see what she looks like."

'With the progress the both of you are making, you'll soon be able to see her in your mind."

'Really!! That's possible?"

I smiled, stroking her hair at her obvious excitement.

'It is. Tomorrow, I'll comb your hair out."

The knots were getting much.

'Okay."

She smiled and rested her head on my chest.

We were enveloped in a comfortable silence, her fingers stroked my chest like she was soothing me.

'I have a selfish desire" she murmured, disrupting the silence.

'What is it?"

'..."

'Leila?"

'...I don't want you to find your mate. I know it's selfish but I don't want to loose what we have. I know that my mate is out there but I'm content with what I have with you" she said in a rush.

I smiled happily, joy filling my heart at her declaration.

'Don't worry about that. Just go to sleep okay? Tomorrow, you have more training and I'll still be here with you."

I saw her smile as she smuggled closer, rubbing her crotch on mine.

I held back a groan. Sometimes, I think she forgets that I'm still just a man.

'Good night Xander."

I pecked her head in reply.

'I applaud everyone of you. You have all put in dedication to improving yourselves and I'm honored to be in your midst. I also apologize for dragging you into fighting for a cause that isn't yours."

They cheered when I was done. The energy in the air was like we were about to go for war when I was just promoting them from trainee to proper soldiers.

'We'll gladly fight by your side, right boys?" Grey said.

He was a very good fighter with a quick brain. The first person to perfect the things we thought. Grey was also easy going and charismatic, once he joined us, most of the young men followed him in his decision.

He'd make a good beta.

'Yes!!"

'We're the ones that are honored boss. You've done a lot for our village, we could never repay."

Boss? This guy.

I nodded, leaving it as that. This village had done more for me. Maybe I should make it my pack?

‘That's a good idea' Hala agreed

‘I'll have to talk to their elders first.'

The village didn't have a specific ruler, just a circle of elders made up of the oldest people in the village that had accomplished something in their life apart from starting a family.

'Congratulations boys" Hera said joining us.

They thanked her, looking at her with reverence in their eyes.

Hera had become a priestess or so for the villagers and I knew that even if she would never admit it, she had come to care for them.

'Won't you bless us Priestess?" asked Grey.

Liam looked amused at the scene.

'Of course but only after your Luna does so."

And Leila became the Luna from the first day she introduced herself to the village.

Speaking of…where is she?

'Boys!! I brought celebration lunch!!" Leila announced.

She walked towards us with madam Kimmy besides her and a trail of vines carrying the food in pots and tables behind her.

'Luna! Luna!! Luna!!!" they cheered causing her to blush.

I smiled once our eyes met.

Goddess, she was so beautiful.

There was no hiding her powers after the villagers discovered the forest in the middle of their fields.

Fortunately, they took the powers as just part of their fascinating Luna.

I watched everyone helping each other to set the place for lunch, laughing and joking.

Times like this made the upcoming war sound like it was just an illusion.

That was a dangerous thought. Getting comfortable will lead to the death of my newly found family.
