Lelia

Amelia disappeared and Carlson turned to Hera. Without the lights this time.

I gently lowered her to the ground.

'That was good. Not perfect but better than I expected. Well done."

I blushed at her praise, smiling sheepishly.

'Now, about these."

Hera stroked the vine, 'Do you feel this?"

'No, not really. But I know exactly where you're touching them. It's like part of my subconscious mind."

'Interesting…I wonder…"

A muffled form of pain filled the back of my mind; Hera had slashed the vines. Deep.

On impulse, I wrapped the vines round her throat in a choke hold, lifting her so far into the sky and released her.

I blinked as I realized what I'd done.

I watched in horror as Hera fell to the ground at a frightening speed.

My body acted on its own, a circle of soft moss appeared under Hera a moment before she hit the ground.

'Hera!!" I shouted, running towards her.

She wasn't moving.

I heard the sound of wolves behind me. I didn't turn.

Hera, please be okay. Goddess, please!!!

My chest burned as I ran faster. She was still not moving.

I got to the bed of moss.

Hera lay in the middle panting. There was a huge grin on her face.

Thank you. Thank you Goddess…

'Hera…" tears started falling from my eyes.

She sat up.

'Let's do it again."

I stared laughing. Ugly sobs mixed with my laughter.

'Oh honey." She came down from the bed and hugged me.

'I'm okay…shh…I'm alright."

I saw blurred figures of Xander and Liam over her shoulders.

Xander took me from her arms.

He didn't say anything, just held me smug to his chest and let me breath in his scent.

' Are you alright?" He asked once I calmed down.

I nodded but didn't leave his arms.

'You're awesome sis" Liam said, 'You literally blow my mind everytime you use your powers." He grinned at me, his eyes shining with pride.

'But, on a serious note, how are you holding up?"

Reluctantly, I left Xander's safe embrace.

'Yeah. I was really scared though."

'Damien suddenly stopped fighting to stare at the sky before murmuring about a concussion. Alpha Xander and I looked up, saw a giant vine and a falling Hera. We came running after that."

'It was really awesome. Although, I didn't expect you to react like that."

Frowning, I replied 'It was like reflex. It just happened."

'Hey," Hera said, '...I'm okay. I had a rush out of it. Should you work on your reaction to this type of situation? Yes, but I don't disapprove of you using it on me or your enemies."

I nodded. I was just grateful that she was okay.

'So?" Liam asked, staring at me intensely.

'What?"

Damien smirked, wiggling his brows.

'Do I need to say it? Show us." Liam rolled his eyes.

I sighed, faking reluctance.

'But I don't wanna."

Damien laughed at my pouty face. He was slowly returning to goofy self that I grew up with. I liked it.

Irrespective of the things he'd done to me, I had come to genuinely forgive him. I liked how the cloud of sorrow wasn't hovering around him anymore.

'Please…pretty please…" begged Liam with wide eyes.

'Where's my cherry?" I asked fighting a smile. Xander looked at us with amusement. Hera was giggling.

'Pretty please with a huge cherry on top?" added Damien.

I sighed again.

'Alright, just because Liam has pretty eyes."

Xander snorted, shaking his head.

I took in a deep breath and shut my eyes. I could feel all the plants around me. It felt strange. Like they welcomed me into their own world. Letting me feel like they do.

The sun suddenly felt glorious on my skin, the wind caressed my body in greeting and I could smell the rain that was going to come.

'She's glowing…" I heard Liam whisper.

Hera hummed thoughtfully.

I allowed my powers to do as it pleased. Going with the flow of the energy passing through me.

'Whoa!"

I didn't recognize who spoke. It didn't matter at the moment.

They whispered things to me but they were unclear.

'I can't hear you." I whispered back.

The whispers from the plants got louder, higher, closer.

I became a circuit, a portal for the energy they offered me.

Their voices became one. Talking in a firm but gentle manner. Like a mother talking to a child.

I still couldn't hear what she was saying so I stopped trying to and let her voice sooth me.

'Leila... Leila a distant voice called, disrupting the harmony we'd created.

I ignored the voice and concentrated on her.

'... Leila!!!" I heard a familiar voice call.

'Lea?"

'Yes. You have to stop" my wolf ordered.

'But…"

'Now!!"

Her growl shattered my focus and I opened my eyes.

I blinked in surprise.

'Lea? What's going on?"

I was no longer in the open fields. Instead, I stood in a place clearly surrounded by huge green trees.

'Where's everyone?"

'You allowed your powers to run free."

'And? What does that have to do with our current location?"

Lea remained silent.

Where was everyone? How did I get here?

I wandered around, trying to find anything familiar.

'Lea? I need help here."

Lea sighed, 'we are in the field."

'The fuck? No way. Where are they?..."

I paled.

'...did…did I kill them?"

My breath quickened, tears filled my eyes at the thought, I couldn't smell anything apart from clean air.

I couldn't take it if I'd killed them. How will I cope?

Lea sighed, 'you didn't kill them."

'Really?" I asked blinking back my tears.

'Do you know where they are?"

"Leila!!" I heard Xander shout.

'You have your answer." Lea replied.

Her character was changing but Hera said I was just getting to know her better. I liked it most of the times but sometimes, I wished she was softer and more gentle.

" Leila!!"

I put the issue in the corner of my mind. I'll resolve it later.

'I'm here!!" I replied.

I didn't move from my spot. They would find me faster.

Soon, Xander came running out of the forest with the others behind me.

I rushed into his arms.

'That was awesome!!" Liam shouted, grinning widely.

I laughed. Happy that they were all okay and tired of the emotional rollercoaster.
