I watched with disgust and annoyance as he paced, red in the face with anger and barking out orders to find her.

'Dad."

'If you don't have any news about Lelia's whereabout then I suggest you shut your fucking mouth." he said without sparing me a glance.

I'm more pissed than you old man.

'We'll need to split up to cover more ground. There's no sign of them around here so I advice we search further into the forest." I replied, barely keeping my anger in check.

Dad stopped his pacing and stared at me strangely.

'What?"

'I find it strange that your mate ran away with another woman. His ex to be precise."

I gritted my teeth. A punch in his face won't go in my favor. Breath.

'Your point?"

He walked towards me, his eye cold. I knew that he doesn't love me as a father should but his gaze was just awful.

I buried the feeling of hurt and met his gaze.

'I'm saying that you obviously can't satisfy your mate. I held his sister hostage but your job was to be his family or at least make him feel like you were his family."

'Dad. You're crossing a line." I pushed out of my clenched teeth.

'Am I? I have the right to cross any fucking line given that I literally delivered your mate to you."

'And so fucking what?!" I screamed loosing my temper.

'Don't you dare raise your voice at me!!" Dad said, his eyes flashing, 'I have a lot of things on my mind right now thanks to your imbecile of a mate. I don't have the energy to deal with your tantrums."

I scoffed, 'Tantrums? I work the damn hard for you to get my opinions called tantrums. If you feel pissed, how do you think I feel? My so called mate ran off with that fucking whore and I get scolded by you for not building a home with my mate when you won't even let anyone rest."

'Rest?" He asked, sounding surprised, 'Why will you want to rest when the job isn't over? Killing Xander isn't the end of this."

'Then when will it end? I'm getting sick of fighting for my life every fucking day."

'It'll end when I say so. Go divide the men and search harder. We're looking for one fucking werewolf and an injured woman, they won't have gotten far besides, we don't know if there are more people like that mysterious woman lurking around." He said and walked away, dismissing me.

I stared at the back of the man who was supposed to be my father. His obsession with Lelia was maddening and the way he treated me recently was annoying.

At times like this, I wondered if doing all this was the right choice, if killing my stepdad was a good decision. At least he treated me like a father should.

I sighed and walked to the soldiers, there was no going back now. I needed to find the bitch and my mate then, I'll become Luna.

'There's nothing here ma'am." A guard reported with his head bowed.

I sighed. That was the same thing the one before him said. We were wasting time searching this area. The more time we spent here, the farther they'll go.

'Where is my father?" I need to speak to him again. This was not yielding anything.

'Last time I saw him, he was in a meeting."

'Where?"

'Close to the border of our park."

I nodded, 'I need information on all the surrounding parks. We may need to pay them a visit."

'Yes ma'am." He replied and left.

I couldn't sense Damien because we hadn't done the mating ceremony. There has been no time. The moment I find them, I'll begin the process there was no point in waiting anymore.

I didn't see dad at the border when I got there. I headed into the pack to check in his office.

The silence in the park spooked me a little. Normally, there would have been kids running around playing, mothers watching them from the corner of their eyes and father's looking on with pride and happiness in their eyes.

But now, the street was eerily empty. None was even looking out of their windows, no sound came out the houses. It was like we were mourning or something.

I ignored the quietness. When I become Luna everything would go back to normal, it would even be better than how it was under Xander's rule.

'Dad?" I called as I entered the house. Why would he come back here to have a meeting when all the guards where at the border and beyond.

'Dad-"

My wolf perked up at the sound of voices. She'd been silent since we found out about Damien.

'Hey, you feeling better?" I asked moving towards the voices.

'Not really but sulking won't do anything for us and I know that he isn't dead." she replied with a stretch.

'What are you going to do now?" I heard an unknown voice say. I paused to listen and leaned on the door.

'I need to find her. Everything is in place, I can't let that slippery bitch keep me from claiming what is mine." Dad growled in reply.

'What about Damien? Are you going to kill him?"

My heart missed a beat in fear even though I didn't care for him as a mate should. He couldn't not after everything I've done for him.

'Who knows." His voice was sinister and for the first time shivers ran through my body in fear of him.

I quietly left the house and ran towards the border.

'We have to find them first." My wolf said, itching to come out.

'Way ahead of you."

I might as well kill that bitch once and for all. I shifted and quietly ran into the forest, avoiding my father's men.
