Priestess Hera, The Volana

**XANDER**

"Hera." I breathed in a low voice that was too low to be called a mumble.

I couldn't see her, no one could see a volana unless they wanted to see you in the first place so it wasn't a thing to be surprised about.

"An Alpha wolf." She muttered as the atmosphere picked up. The wind blew heavily causing the dry leaves to fly up in the sky and I held my breathe. My wolf stood in high alert as I listened to my surroundings.

I might not be able to see her but I could hear.

*In times of danger where you cannot see, you should try to look upon things that you can't see like as if they were there* That was a lesson my father had taught me before he died and at the time when he said it, I didn't see any reason for it neither did I read any meaning into it. I guess now is the time

My ears perked up a bit as I listened and then ducked.

The next minute, she was standing right in front of me with her hands clutching my neck.

"Hera." I choked out as the sinister smile on her face grew broader.

"How does it feel to be utterly powerless now, Alpha?" She questioned as her claws dug into my neck.

"Let go of me." I ordered and she snickered loudly.

"Just because you're an Alpha doesn't mean you can command everyone, I am a volana and far better than you bloody creature." Her voice was filled with spite, hatred and contempt.

"As an Alpha, I was given the authority by the moon goddess to command the werewolf league. Though you're a volana with special abilities, you still remain under my authority and every other Alpha's authority so I command you to let go." My fangs and claws were in sight and I held her by her arms, my claws digging into her skin as I took it off my neck.

"Don't you ever repeat that even if you're sick in the head." I ordered and her red, fiery blazing eyes returned to normal while she glared at me then blinked twice like she was snapping out of a gaze.

"How dare you use your powers to compel me? How dare you?" I smoothed my hands on my cloth and glared at her with as much equal hate as she looked at me.

"You weren't being exactly cooperative earlier so I had to do what I had to do. The next option was killing you totally and I don't have the energy of that, now you can blow some steam off. I have something to discuss with you." I started as the bruises I had which had deepened for no reason began hurting again.

"Ahhh." I grunted as I placed my hands over the cut I had on my belly.

"You're hurt and you brought friends too." She muttered as she stared at the old man and his two sons who just stood behind him watching the events unfold.

"As much as I hate to say this, I need your help." I finally was able to say as I bent down on one knee.

"And why would I help you?" She rolled her eyes and sat on the green grasses with tightened jaw. Flicking her fingers, the haze in the atmosphere crept off and the goodness of the forest appeared.

"First of all, it's quite nice that you can cast such glamours but don't you think that it would be very scary if young pups eventually venture to this part. Scratch that, like I said I need your help." I said again. The pain had reduced greatly so I was able to sit down with her and my three companions followed suit.

"Cut it out, Alpha wolf. Even if it's the end of the world, I would never help you." She snickered baring her teeth and I raised my brows before shrugging my shoulders and standing up while clutching the injury that blood was gushing from minutes ago.

"You're leaving, just like that?" The old man asked and I nodded whilst walking.

"You heard her. She wouldn't help even if it was the end of the world," I stared back at her and she just rolled her eyes.

"This isn't something that you can just decide like this, the stake of the entire werewolf clan depends on you." The old man yelled but I just kept walking away.

"Xander, wait!" Exactly, just like I expected. I halted in my tracks and looked over my shoulder.

"What is he talking about?" She asked acting like she wasn't interested one bit in what I had to say but the glint in her eyes spoke otherwise.

"Oh, forgive me. I forgot to mention, there's an Alpha wolf named Antonio who is planning to use my mate for the immortality sacrifice. I needed to get healed so I can save my mate and stop him from perpetrating his plans because if he becomes immortal, the entire werewolf clan would be in trouble. And since it's not the initial plan of the moon goddess, the entire werewolf clan is at high chances of been wiped out."

"His minions shot me with a poisoned arrow and I was slashed with a poisoned blade so I can't go into battle and normal medicines can't heal it that's why I came to you. But you've made your decision and I don't even want to dispute it, I'll just head back to their clan till I eventually rot and die. And Antonio would perform the ritual and rule for as long as he can with all werewolf's including Alphas, Betas, Gamma's, omegas and Volana's at his command." I stated and with each explanation, her eyes widened.

"Let's go. I can't walk alone, my sides are hurting." I shouted to the young boys who just stood with nothing to say and as they walked up to me with their father taking slow calculated steps , I show Hera's eyes twitch.

"Xander!" She called out and I bit the insides of my mouth.

"I can help but this would be my own part in saving nature. Not because I want to help an Alpha."

That's it! Mission accomplished.
