**LIAM**

"Alpha, how would you know that?" I asked as I looked at him in confusion. Something was off here and the fact that he knew that Leila was my sister did make it look suspicious ,also the fact that he knew I was going to visit the priestess was all the more suspicious.

"What do you mean by that? You mean apart from the fact that you both were so close that even a bug close by could tell that you were siblings, you were always so protective about her and you should already be aware at this point that the walls have wars." Lucian said shrugging his shoulders like he didn't care about anything in the world.

"Alpha, I just happen to be close to your Luna and I'm very sorry that she isn't here with you but she's not my sister." I lied as something within yelled to me that I shouldn't agree with him. I had this feeling that something bad was going to happen if I concurred and it wasn't going to happen to me but to her.

"Are you lying to me, Liam? You should already know that I find the truth out in one way or the other." He growled, stamping his foot on the wet grass and I swallowed hard, hell bent on maintaining my stance even if it might cost me my life.

"I'm so sorry my Lord if I had been a little too close and touchy with the Luna and caused a wrong impression but I'm telling you the whole truth that you should know about." I maintained and I saw Lucian rubbing his forehead in frustration while sighing.

"Liam, nothing bad would happen to you if that's what you fear. I just want to confirm if you're really her brother so I'll see if there's a way I can get to meet my mate again and also, so I'll know the right way to treat my mates brother." Lucian pushed on but I knew better than taking him by his words.

"Even at this point, you're still denying!" One of the men that captured me yelled and the next thing I knew was that I got kicked in the back by a pair of iron boots.

"How dare you lie to the Alpha?" Another voice came and a slap to my accompanied it.

"I didn't lie to the Alpha!! It's a misunderstanding." I yelled as I tried to fight the dizziness that was seeping me.

"Would you shut up? No one is buying your lies." The first man yelled kicking me repeatedly in my back and stomach while Lucian just rubbed his forehead like he was trying to ease himself of the pain that was forming inside of his head.

"I'm not lying! If the Luna was my sister by hear say then I would never have let the rival pack to take her away even if we were told that she went willingly. I wouldn't let her be harmed for even a second and the only reason why I'm journeying down this part is because the whiskey is finished and I was trying to get the herbs that we were to use for it. " I ranted hoping that I sounded convincing enough and when I saw Lucian stare at me with a scrutinizing gaze like he was trying to believe what I had told him.

"For real?" He questioned more of like he was demanding but this time it was in his Alpha's

tone so I wouldn't help but tell him all truth that was lurking within me but thanks to the powers that I shared with my sister, I was able to withstand that as I grazed our shared tattoo.

Now I feel like the power that gave me the ability to do that and also mindlink her , shutting everyone out lied within her. If she didn't exist, perhaps the powers wouldn't exist as well.

"Alpha, haven't I have been one of your most loyal and trusted servants even if I wasn't acknowledged not that I care about it. I loved staying in the background and protecting your integrity and treason would be the last thing that would ever cross my mind. I have spoken every shred of truth that is lying within me and I hope that you are able to decipher that." I stated and i sounded very convincing even to myself.

Darn it!! I never lied and I never knew that I had it in me to lie about anything but I guess protecting my sister tops the chart.

My sister was in grave danger as she was tossed from bad hands to extremely bad hands. Both Lucian and Antonio weren't good people to leave my sister in their care and I'd rather die than seat idly in Lucian's pack while my place is outside protecting my sister from arms reach.

"Hmm, he's saying the truth." That was all Lucian muttered and I heaved a deep sigh in relief. The great and mighty Alpha wasn't all that hard to even deceive and he calls himself an Alpha.

"Alright then, find the herbs you came to find and leave. Return to the pack right after finding the herbs." Lucian instructed and I knew that he was commanding that I be let go when the men who had taken turns to land series of pounches and blow paved way for me.

"Thank you, my Lord. I'll do just that." I said kowtowing as I walked out with my bleeding back and shredded clothes.

Those were not even my problem right now! No, they were the least of my problem.

As long as I know right now, Lucian might still be contemplating if he would totally believe me and it meant that eyes would still be on me.

My problem was how the hell I was supposed to know which of the herbs was used in the production of whiskey because no matter what I do, I have to return with that.
