Jane's POV

The hospital room was quiet again, soft morning light came through the window. Noah and Grace were asleep in their little cribs. Hades was right beside me, and he was already dozing off but he still held my hand.

Then we heard the doorbell rang.

Hades got up and opened it slowly.

I heard a familiar voice. 'Can we come in?"

It's Mr. and Mrs. Thomson.

My heart immediately skipped and I sat up straight and quietly fixed and straightened my hair quickly. I was still in the hospital gown, and I was tired, but I even tried to smile.

Mrs. Thomson walked in first, and she held a big bouquet of white flowers, some roses, and some lilies, and baby's breath.

Her eyes were somehow shiny and it looked like she had been crying.

Mr. Thomson followed, his hands were behind his back and he was wearing a suit, but his tie was loose and he looked tired too, however he was more softer and kinder.

'Hello, Jane," Mrs. Thomson said gently. She walked to me and placed the flowers on the table. 'We brought these for you. and for the babies."

I smiled 'Thank you. They are beautiful."

She leaned down and hugged me softly. Her arms were warm and light. 'You did very well," she said. 'I am so very proud of you."

Tears filled my eyes because I seriously wasn't expecting that and I nodded slowly, I was unable to speak yet.

Mr. Thomson stepped closer. He looked at the babies.

'They are small," he said, his voice low, almost a whisper. 'But strong."

'Yes," I said 'This is Noah and that is Grace."

He nodded. 'Good names."

There was a moment of some short silence and then he eventually cleared his throat and spoke.

'Well, I was not actually sure of you in the first place, Jane," he said. 'But I see now that you are not just strong, you are good for my son, so good for him and now you are the mother of my grandchildren."

I blinked my eyes and I knew that was the closest thing to an apology I would ever get from him.

'Thank you," I whispered.

He looked down, then at Hades. 'You have really made us proud, son."

Hades nodded, his eyes filled with gratitude.'Thanks, Dad."

Mrs. Thomson moved over to the cribs and she looked at Noah and Grace for moments, it was like they were the most precious things she had ever seen in her life.

'Just take a look at them," she said with a smile. 'Our family is really growing."

She turned to me. 'And I couldn't be happier that you, Jane, you m are the one growing it, I am so proud of you."

My lips trembled and I smiled. 'That means a lot to me."

Mr. Thomson gently placed his hand on my shoulder, just for a second, but it was enough.

'Rest, Jane," he said. 'We will come back tomorrow."

They walked out together, quietly.

As the door closed, I sat back and let out a breath and I didn't know I was holding.

Hades wrapped his arms around me and kissed the top of my head.

'You did it," he said softly. 'They finally see you."

I nodded, and tears fell again.

'They finally see me."

Later in the afternoon, there was another knock at the door.

Hades stood to check and his eyes opened wide a little, then he smiled. 'Sir," he said and stepped aside.

I looked up, and It was my dad.

'Daddy?" I whispered, I was surprised.

He walked in slowly, holding a box wrapped in soft blue paper and his eyes landed on me, then the two babies rested in their cribs, his face softened, and I saw tears gathered around his eyes.

'My little girl," he said with a long deep breath. 'You did it."

I sat up, and I was already crying again. 'Dad"

He walked over and placed the box on the table, and he then took my hand in both of his.

'You have no idea how proud I am of you," he said, and he squeezed my hands gently. 'Look at you. You are a mother, a fighter and almost married to the man I always hoped you would choose."

I laughed through my tears. 'You always liked Hades, didn't you?"

He nodded, his eyes twinkled 'Even when you were too stubborn to admit you liked him back."

Hades chuckled from the side. 'She made me work for it."

My father smiled at him. 'And you were patient and that is how I knew you were the right one."

He walked over to the cribs and he gazed at Noah and Grace.

'They are perfect," he said softly. 'They have your strength, Jane and your mother's heart."

That made my chest ache, but I smiled through it. 'I wish she were here."

'She is," he whispered, and placed a hand over his heart. 'Every time you hold them, every time you smile, she is there."

I wiped my face, and nodded slowly.

Dad walked back and kissed my forehead. 'I love you, Jane and I am so glad you got your happy ending."

I squeezed his hand. 'It is just the beginning, Daddy."

He smiled wider. 'Even better."

It was late morning when I heard another knock on the hospital door.

'Come in," I said softly.

The door opened, and Rita walked in with a bright smile and a basket full of fruit and flowers.

Behind her, Ava stepped in also, she was also holding a gift bag and wearing her usual smart blazer.

Her hair was tied back, but I could tell she was softer today, less serious, more emotional.

'Jane!" Rita said, and rushed to my side.

'Oh my God, you did it!"

I laughed, I was tired but happy. 'I did."

She leaned over to hug me gently, be careful not to disturb the babies who are resting nearby in their cribs.

'They are so tiny," Rita whispered, peeking at Noah and Grace. 'They look like angels."

'They cry like warriors," I say with a smile. 'They get that from me."

We all laughed.

Ava stepped closer and placed the gift bag beside my bed.

'I brought you something practical," she says. 'Baby blankets with your initials stitched in. And some legal documents to sign… later," she added quickly when I glared at her.

I shook my head, smiling. 'You never stop working."

'I'm proud of you, Jane," Ava said, her voice softer now. 'Really proud. You have been through hell and still came out strong."

Her words hit me deep. I reached for her hand and squeezed it. 'I couldn't have done it without you."

She nodded once, then blinked away the moisture in her eyes. 'We make a good team."

Rita sat in the chair near my bed. 'Do they have names?"

'Yes," I say, turning to the babies. 'This is Noah, and this is Grace."

Ava placed a hand over her heart.

'Beautiful. Strong names."

'They are my second chance," I say quietly.

The room went quiet for a second.

Then Rita clapped her hands. 'Well, I can't wait to spoil them. I'm going to be their favorite auntie."

'Not if I beat you to it," Ava says, raising her brow.

We all laughed again and for a moment, everything felt light and peaceful.
