Jane's POV
All the security personnel gathered in front of me after I discovered that the intruder stole the harddrive that contains the company's most valuable information.
They watched in fear.
'Who among you let the intruder inside the company?" I shot a terrific gaze at them. My voice was cold and harsh. I raised one of my eyebrows looking at their faces.
There was a total silence as they started murmuring between them.
'We don't know." A person among them replied to me.
That reply got on my nerves. 'if you do not provide the person that opened my gate for an intruder. You will all lose your jobs. Do you understand?" My voice was terric and I meant every word that came from my lips.
While leaving them on the stand, I walked back into the company. ‘There is no way the intruder would have gotten into the company if there was no intel.' As I thought in my head, the risk the company would face because of this stolen disk drive was threatening.
I was still getting myself all worked up when my phone started ringing. When I checked it, I was surprised that it was Francis calling.
‘He must have gotten the package I returned to him.' With an air blowing through my face, I picked up the call. 'Hello."
'Miss Jane, why did you return my gift?" He sought an explanation.
'I do not need your gift. Because I do not approve of your illegal trade." I replied to him.
He grunted with displeasure. Short of words, he ended the call.
I hissed inaudibly. While I sat back in thoughts. I decided to report the theft to the police. That made me put a call across to them.
'Hello." I said, going silent and waiting for the recipient's response.
'Hello, how can we help you?" The police officer that picked the call responded.
'An intruder broke into my office and he made away with a harddrive that contains important information." I detailed.
'Did you by chance know what he looks like?" The police officer wanted more details.
'He has a dragon tattoo on his back. He has long legs and curly hair. But I didn't get to see his face." I explained to him.
'Okay. We will be on the search for him." He ended the call after I had detailed it.
I wasn't at peace, scared of what he would use that information for.
My door opens and my secretary walks in. Good day, ma." She greeted me politely. I arched my eyebrows to maintain a consistent look at his face.
'You have a visitor. Should I let him?" She asked.
'Yes."
I sat back and waited for a moment. And in just a few minutes, he walked in. My eyes widened and my jaw dropped in awe.
'I….I thought you were dead. How… How are you here?" I muttered barely above a whisper while I trembled at the figure before me.
'I am very much alive. How have you been doing, Jane?" He asked.
Meet Ray, my cousin who got involved in an accident and everyone thought he was dead.
'I am fine. But how did you survive the accident?" I was baffled and I had to ask that question to understand.
'It's a long story, Jane and I are happy I survived that incident." He explained.
But as I looked at his face and his voice… It was very similar to that of the intruder. And I had to question the reality before me. ‘Could my cousin be the intruder?' I questioned myself with disbelief.
'Since when have you been around?" I asked him, taking an oversight of everything he was doing at the moment.
'Long enough to know you've gotten back into business. I am here to rule with you." He said purposefully.
I shot a glare at his face. 'Are you saying you want a position in this company?" I asked him.
And he nodded positively. 'I came because of that. I can't continue that lifestyle I am living." He expressed with content while he relaxed briefly.
Because I wanted to keep a close eye on him, I agreed with what he said. 'Okay. You have the job. Meet with the HR to fix yourself into an available position."
His lips curved with a smile. 'I know you can be trusted. Thank you, Sis." He said and he stood to take his leave.
‘Do not mery, I am watching you.' There was no way that I could have trusted my cousin. He had involved himself in many unscrupulous activities.
As I watched him leave, there was a close resemblance between his back and the back of the intruder.
'Wait!" I echoed suddenly and he halted. Wanting to turn, 'do not turn." I snapped, having the intention to check if there was a tattoo on his back.
'What is wrong?" He echoed with displeasure. I stood up from where I was with my phone. I moved close to him.
'Remove your clothes!" I ordered.
Ray turned immediately. And he shot a deadly glare at me. 'And why would I do such a thing? What is wrong with you?" He shot an imposing glare at my face. There was a mix of confusion on his face.
'There is something I am eager to see at your back. Just pull off your clothes." I insisted, looking at his eyes as I stood my ground.
'That is not going to happen. I am out of here." He snapped fiercely and walked out of my office.
I sucked my teeth and clenched my fist. ‘What was I thinking? I should know he wouldn't allow that anyway.'
As I grunted with a slight frustration, the fragrance that proceeded out of his body matched with the intruder. This created an awareness and a lot of possibilities in my heart.
‘He is definitely the one and I must get to the root of this.' As I insisted, I put a call across to the security within the company.
'Hello, I think we have the intruder."
