A year ago, one evening, Arabella got dressed nicely and went to meet Lucien. It was his birthday. Taking a gift for him, she went to his office wanting to meet him. She was so happy and can't wait to give the gift that she prepared for him. Jogging towards his office room inside of the pack house, she stopped in front of the door of his office. Then taking a deep breath, she bit her lower lip nervously and slowly placed her hand on the door knob wanting to go.

As she slightly opened the door, she looked inside hearing a woman's moans. Her heart tightened and her whole body went numb seeing Lucien and Milena. Arabella looked at the way Lucien was kissing Milena and she felt someone was stabbing her against her heart brutally. The gift she had on her arms slowly fell on the floor but that didn't even bother them.


Lucien took off his shift and removed Milena's dress from her body without breaking the kiss. Then he touched her body intimately while moving his face closer to her neck. Arabella's mind was in daze, she couldn't think anything properly. Her heart was aching and she looked at them with a heart throbbing pain. She couldn't believe that her mate was doing it with another woman.

Tears rolled down from her eyes remembering their past together. Everything had changed in a cruel way and he had a woman in his arms and she was not that woman. Her heart ached, her wolf painfully whimpered looking at her mate who was touching and kissing a woman who was not even his mate. Then suddenly, Lucien's eyes fell on her. Arabella's heartbeat went crazy seeing his gorgeous blue eyes.

She forced herself to smile with him through her tears because of the love she had for him. Looking at her for a while, his lips slowly curled upwards to a smirk and he simply lifted Milena's dress up before unbuckling his belt. Then he just simply did it, making Arabella's lower body burn with the pain. She cried and covered her mouth without letting him hear her sobs. She couldn't bear the pain, so she just ran away ignoring the pain inside of her body.


She couldn't run far away, she just ran out of the pack house and then entered the forest but because of the pain of her lower body and the pain of the venom of parasite living inside of her, she fell on the ground and fainted. She didn't know what happened and who took her home but when she opened her eyes she was inside of her room.

But yet, that day she went to the pack house wanting to talk to him and then she saw the most heartbreaking thing. Her heart broke seeing the present she prepared for him was near the trash cans. She watched it for a while and bit her lower lip so hard wanting to force herself from crying but she couldn't. Her tears rolled down and she just simply turned and walked away.


He hated her, he didn't care for her. He just treated as if she was something disgusting to him. So she was done getting hurt by him and suffering. She wanted to be free and get away from him. Forcing the painful memory back, she sighed and kissed Rowan's neck. She didn't feel anything. She just simply threw the memories of Lucien away and hugged Rowan so tightly.

She didn't mind Lucien seeing her with Rowan. Because Arabella knew no matter what happened and no matter what Lucien thought about her, she would never get back together with him. There was no way to fix her broken heart now, she was done with everything that includes Lucien. He will have his life and she will have her life. Raising her head, she looked at Rowan who was kissing her chest. She giggled seeing him and stopped him.

"Not enough? I need to go home. I'm sleepy" Arabella said.

Then he stared at her for a while and hummed with a beautiful smile on his face. She bit her lower lip hard seeing him, his emerald eyes were glowing and they gave the aura of a powerful king. Her heartbeat increased and she looked away from his eyes. She didn't know why she failed to look into his eyes for so long.

"Bella, look at me.."

Her heart skipped a beat hearing his husky voice. She didn't look at him, she just stayed lowering her head without looking. She was shy and she knew that she was blushing like a fool. Feeling his hot breath against her face, she clutched his shirt tightly. Then he raised his arm and caught her chin before lifting her face. She could do nothing but look at his handsome face. She looked into his emerald orbs and bit her lower lip.

"Why are you so shy after everything?" he asked with a smile on his face. She stared at him without answering. Not knowing how to answer him, she placed her hands on his shoulders and got up from his lap. Then she looked down at him. Rowan chuckled with what she did and he also got up from the ground as he took her hand and intertwined their fingers together.

"Doesn't matter. You can be shy. I won't mind" teasing her, he muttered. Arabella groaned and hit his shoulder hearing him. She also didn't know why she couldn't look into his eyes. She was not like this with Lucien but when she was with Rowan, she felt so many unknown emotions and feelings. Sometimes she asked herself why Rowan was so special to her.

Everything happened instantly. Before, she never got a chance to talk with Rowan or look at him because of Lucien's hard possessiveness. He never let her look at other men and he was so jealous when she looked at a man if it was not him. So she didn't pay attention to other men. She loved Lucien and her mind was all focused on him. But things changed in a way that she could never turn.

"Rowan.. You remember the day we first met?" suddenly she asked. She looked at Rowan and saw the way his eyes turned strange but at the same time, he smiled at her and nodded. She unknowingly smiled at him seeing how beautiful his smile was. She still remembers the first day that she saw rowan.

"That day, what happened to you. You fainted on the ground and how did it happen?" This was a question she was always curious about. She didn't know why but she wanted to know about it. She had never seen Rowan before and that day was the first time and most importantly, he was all alone with a few injuries on his body.

"I don't want to lie to you Bella. I still don't know what happened and how I came here but that day my family was killed." he said with a painful smile on his face. Arabella's heart clenched. She bit her lower lip hard thinking that she hurt his feelings. She knew that his family was dead but yet she asked him as a fool.

"I'm sorry.. But where were you?" she again asked him. Rowan stopped and looked at her. He pulled his hand from hers and stared into her eyes making her heart beat so fast with guilt. Then without uttering a word, he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her to him as he slammed her delicate body against his strong body.

He moved closer to her neck and kissed her marking spot making her body shudder under his touch, then he waited for a while and whispered something which made her heart fill with both curiosity and nervousness.

"If I ever get a chance to mark you and make you mine. I'll let you know everything but until then, you will be the queen in my heart" Arabella placed her hands against his chest as she felt his beating heart. She didn't know what he meant but she was somewhat confused with his strange words.

Those words were just a riddle to her and she didn't know how to understand the real meaning of them. She looked up at him and looked into his eyes. Then he suddenly smiled at her and kissed her forehead before taking her hand and again interwinding their fingers. She looked at their hands for a while and again looked up at his handsome side profile while walking out of the forest with him.

Queen in his heart? Why did he even mean? Her heart filled with unanswered questions and she wanted to know everything. She wanted to know everything about him. She remembered that her brother said Rowan was not a simple man and he had dark secrets with him. So she wanted to know those dark secrets.
