Beatrice's eyes widened.

With everything that had been going on in her life lately, meeting face-to-face with her former servant who had now changed status was something she never wanted. No, not even once. Because it felt like there was still an invisible grudge in there, which Beatrice was still trying to get out of the recesses of her heart.

And now like a scene from a thousand other novels, there she was. Face to face with the former servant, at an inopportune time.

Luana blinked after a few seconds of silence between them. The arrival of a woman in a pink blazer who also wanted to enter the restroom made Luana inevitably shift her body finally, which also forced Beatrice back to make room for the incoming person.

Deliberately shifting towards the wall, Beatrice also didn't seem to want to walk away from the encounter. She also seemed to need to talk to Luana.

"Sorry, I mean... Miss Beatrice." It was Luana who again spoke first between them, though their beads were still firmly linked. Mrs. Lueic's heart was racing, but somehow the woman had no intention of taking a step back.

It was as if she had wanted this meeting to happen, even if she didn't actually say it through audible words.

Beatrice sighed with a flat face. Without a smile, although in truth the woman would have looked much more attractive if she had smiled. Her blond hair was tied up in a high ponytail, with mascara and eyeliner that made her gaze even more piercing.

The nude-colored lipstick she had on her lips seemed to make her look like a princess, though in some ways she had made the wrong decision.

"How did you get here?" Beatrice's voice sounded half hoarse, which was followed by a soft chuckle. "Are you going out of town?"

Luana knew how catered she had been to Beatrice before her encounter with Rey, and for that reason she now bowed her head slightly. After all, letting go or forgetting the status that had long been embedded into one's identity was not as easy as one might think. Moreover, she was standing right in front of someone she used to serve with all her body and soul.

"Uhm, no," Luana replied still a little stuttered. "We are escorting Madame and Mr. Lueic back to Leipzig, Miss."

There was a hard blow to Beatrice's heart, just as her ears caught the word 'we' spoken by Luana. Without needing to ask, of course, Beatrice was smart enough to deduce that the 'we' Luana was referring to must be her and Rey --her ex-fiancé.

"Is that so? They're back?"

Luana nodded. "Right." Raising her head again to speak more freely, Luana continued. "How is madam? Is she well, Miss?"

Beatrice could be heard breathing softly, with her hands now clasped together in front of her chest. Half of her heart felt like blaming the woman in front of her, but the way Rey and the Lueic family had left her seemed to be enough to make her think clearly.

"Mommy is healthy," Beatrice replied softly. "And you must know, Rey's family has finalized all the arrangements to release you from the Collins family."

That sentence made Luana bite her lip involuntarily, because she knew but not the details.

"They compensated you quite wonderfully," Beatrice continued. "I'm not saying that you're greedy, but it seems to be the only way for the Lueic family to get their hands on you."

Luana turned her beautiful bead back to stare at Beatrice, even though her heart was beating very fast. In contrast to Beatrice who seemed calmer this time, who was probably used to situations like this before. After all, she was the dominant.

"I'm sorry, Miss," Luana finally said. It was slow and halting, but believe me she was saying it from the bottom of her heart. "For everything, I am truly sorry, Miss Beatrice."

It wasn't enough for Luana to explain what was in her heart, because of course Beatrice knew what was happening now. Flashbacks to their complicated story would only be a waste of time and energy, because circumstances have changed unpredictably.

Because again, love and the universe choose.

Beatrice could be heard taking a deep breath, before opening her voice to answer her former servant's apology.

"Listen, Luana." Beatrice's voice was soft. "First, call me Beatrice --because I am no longer your master."

There was a two-second pause as Luana felt Beatrice change the tone of her voice now. The look on the woman's face also seemed less flat than before, although no smile was yet there.

"Secondly, this meeting was meant to happen for us," Beatrice continued. "I was planning to meet you at that time, but Rey's mother said it might not be the right time in the near future. But now that we've been accidentally brought together, I don't want to waste any time."

Luana swallowed hard, but she was secretly grateful that Beatrice had started to look like her. Living and devoting herself to the Collins family, Luana understood more or less how Beatrice acted. And speaking at length, as she had just done, was typical of the Beatrice she knew.

Luana tugged at the corners of her lips to curve a smile.

"Of course, Miss-I mean, Beatrice. I'll listen."
