Compared to the hotel Jovi chose, Pagoda Bay Hotel is just a miniature version of it. Smaller, and simpler. If the presidential suite that Luana stayed in earlier was grand and spacious, then the room she stayed in this time was much smaller but felt so cozy.
Just as the tires of Jovi's car squealed to slow down, Rey immediately unbuckled his belt and got out without saying a word. Throughout the trip the man kept repeating the same words, which made Jovi not even dare to interrupt.
"Please, Luana. Please."
Pacing his steps at a run as he entered the hotel, Rey stopped right at the reception desk. A clerk greeted him with a bright smile.
"Good evening, sir."
"Can you tell me where my wife's room is?" Rey shot impatiently. "She just made a reservation here."
The clerk looked puzzled, doing a double take.
"Tell me!" exclaimed Rey as if pressed for time. "I need to make sure she's okay, right now. Please."
"I'm sorry, sir. But we can't-"
The officer still didn't seem to have a chance to react, when Rey had already thrust his cell phone onto the table. "Please. I need to see her."
Jovi also came in half-running, before he took over to explain the situation. After making sure everything was safe, the man finally pocketed the room number for the order used with Rey's card.
"Room 203, Sir."
It didn't take long for Rey to sprint towards the room that had just been mentioned. Swinging his steps with a pounding chest, the man was almost out of breath.
Until he stopped right in front of a room with exactly the same number: 203. Pressing the bell not quite once, Rey tried to take in as much air as possible. He was almost numb.
"Please, Luana. Please."
The man was still muttering when the bright white door pulled open slowly, with someone poking their head out in the doorway.
It was like an oasis in the desert for Rey.
There she was, Luana. His wife. His.
Luana widened her eyes in disbelief, forehead furrowed. What's more, Rey looked a mess with a messy shirt and sweat on his forehead and neck.
What was going on, anyway?
"R-Rey?"
The man almost collapsed before this, but then his wife's beautiful bead seemed to recharge his energy to the brim. So full.
"Luana."
Bursting through the slightly open door, Rey pushed Luana against the wall and closed the door roughly. His breathing was ragged, ragged.
Luana was dumbfounded, unable to do anything when Rey had her cornered without even significant distance. The scent of the man's body wafted into Luana's olfactory senses, making her chest rise and fall from the nervousness that was just present.
Luana's eyeballs looked at Rey with deep eyes, noticing how the man looked desperate and relieved at the same time.
"What's wrong?" Luana whispered softly. Innocent. "Why are you sweating like this?"
His wife's voice flowed melodiously in the nobleman's ears, quenching the thirst that had been clogging his throat. He could not be more grateful than this.
"I thought you left me," Rey softly abandoned all his pride as a man. He didn't need anything, really he just needed this woman. "Don't go, Luana. At any time, don't leave me alone. I don't know what I would be without you."
Luana blinked as those beautiful words flowed into her ears, but she really didn't understand what was going on. Why was Rey this emotional?
"W-well," Luana replied softly. "Am I going to leave you?"
Rey shook his head, taking a deep breath.
"Promise me you won't," he pleaded softly. "Make sure you won't leave my side. Promise me now."
Rey had never been so scared in his life. He was born into a prominent family, with all the sufficiency the universe had destined for him. He could have anything he wanted, he had many things he could buy with money.
Never had Rey been this desperate to have something. It felt like he would go completely crazy, if anything happened to Luana. His Luana. Someone who managed to make him desperate, to the deepest recesses.
Because the feeling of desperation this time felt different, because no matter how much money Rey had, he couldn't guarantee it. He really needs to ask, beg if necessary with all the strength he has left.
Luana sighed softly.
"Hey," she said, her hands now moving to cup her husband's face. "Look, I promise."
Rey looked at Luana closely, very closely. "Repeat it one more time."
A chuckle hung on Luana's thin lips as she nodded. Not objecting at all.
"I promise," she repeated. "I won't walk away from you, won't leave you alone. I promise."
There was a sigh of relief that escaped Rey's lips, as his shoulders almost sagged. The thought of Luana running away from him was already making the man unable to think clearly, even he might look pathetic now.
But it was okay, as long as Luana still chose to be by his side.
That was all.
"Luana, do you know something?" Rey was still locking the woman in her confinement, not even giving Luana room to escape.
"Hm? Know what?"
Rey tugged at the corners of his lips to curve a smile.
"I love you."
There was silence as the couple looked at each other, until Luana said the words she had been holding back. Her deepest feelings.
"I also... love you."
It felt like every inch of the nobleman's body wanted to separate from the body, due to the pleasure that could no longer be contained. Luana's confession was enough to keep them going, to keep holding onto each other.
Just the two of them.
Now moving her lips closer to her husband's cheek, Luana stole a peck on Rey's half-wet skin. Then moving up a little and stopping right at the man's ear, Luana revealed something that she had been keeping to herself for the past few days.
"It's not just me who loves you, Rey," Luana murmured softly. "But also... our son."
