"Why did you do that?"

Luana's question was the opening question for their casual chat session tonight.

In accordance with Rey's request this morning, there Luana was - right next to the man, on the same bed.

Complying with the nobleman's request to sleep together tonight, Luana was eager to refuse. But Rey's hopeful eyes kept haunting her, so she decided to approach her husband at exactly nine o'clock at night.

Rey was still holding his laptop on his thighs when Luana arrived, and of course was a little confused when he saw the outfit she was wearing.

Opting for long-sleeved pajamas, Luana also wore long pants that exceeded her ankles. Not only that, she even wore a sweater that almost drowned her tiny body in there.

What the... heck, Luana. What the hell are you doing?

Meeting Rey's gaze for a few seconds, Luana hugged tightly the blanket she had brought from her room next door.

Without saying anything, the woman moved slowly to the empty side next to Rey, then leaned her body against the headboard of the bed.

Rey was also still keeping his lips tightly shut, still trying to digest what kind of situation they were facing now. Until finally a small laugh escaped the nobleman's lips, with a tickling taste that amused him enough.

Closing his laptop and placing the electronic device on the nightstand, Rey turned his head to look at Luana closely.

The two of them sat side by side, with the blanket now covering them up to the waist.

Agreeing to spend some time talking casually before drowsiness struck, the two exchanged glances with shy smiles like kindergarteners.

"Doing what?" Rey tried to confirm.

There were many new things he had done for Luana today, and she wanted an explanation so as not to misunderstand.

Was it about their kiss this morning? Ah, that was so sweet.

"Eating the dim sum," Luana piped up. "You know you have allergies. But why did you say nothing when I asked you to eat them? Why didn't you refuse me?"

Luana had tried not to bring up the subject of dim sum again, but somehow she was too curious about the reason Rey was hiding.

Did he forget?

Was he doing it on purpose?

Or actually, was there no specific reason for it?

"I don't know why either." Rey smiled a little. "Everything just happened, and well, I thought I was immune from this allergy. But apparently my illness hasn't changed."

Luana looked more closely at the man, as if she was looking for justification through eyes that looked very soft.

There was no longer a sense of coldness there, and now Luana could even catch a glint of light that she could not yet interpret.

That gaze felt 180 degrees different, and Luana secretly liked that look for him.

"Really?" Luana didn't seem to fully believe it. "Just because of that?"

Rey nodded vaguely now, making sure Luana accepted his reasoning. But the woman's eyes were still searching for something there, so Rey blinked slowly.

"Actually, there is one more thing," said the man. And that sentence succeeded in attracting Luana's attention, until she unconsciously leaned over to face her husband.

"That's right. I guess you must have another reason," Luana speculated. She had been thinking about so many things lately that she was now running like a train.

"Did you want to take a break from work on purpose? Or do you actually like crab but your allergies got in the way? Or... Are you curious about the flavor of crab because you haven't eaten it in a long time? Which is it?"

Rey was stunned for a moment when he heard the series of questions, but then he smiled very widely.

For some reason it felt good to hear her voice, when Rey had always liked being alone.

Now it didn't feel like it anymore.

"Which one?" urged Luana, still curious. "Your reason."

Rey didn't blink for a few seconds, as if he was storing the look on Luana's face in his memory.

Her expression, her eyeballs, her cute nose, and her pink lips.

Grandma said you can't be alone together, because the third person is a demon. And now, that devil is taking over.

Rey approached, slowly narrowing the distance between him and his wife.

"Because of you," Rey replied in a half-whisper. His voice had a low volume, but somehow it sounded like a temptation that was hard to resist.

Luana was stunned. But she did not move from her position at all, even though she knew that the distance between their faces was now narrowing.

As soon as he placed his hand on the top of Luana's head, Rey spoke again.

"You want it, Luana," he said. "The light in your eyes is so longing, and I don't want to disappoint you."

Luana was completely speechless, not expecting this answer. Rey's strokes over her hair felt soothing, and again, damn it, Luana liked it.

She liked that.

"Because if I said I was allergic, you wouldn't want to eat there," the noble continued. "I'm getting to know you now, and you definitely choose to suppress your own desires. You think of others more often than you think of your own desires, Luana."

Rey had never been like this. Living as a noble with full access, the man rarely thought about other people's choices. But somehow at that moment he could not resist, even after he knew this was what his body would be like now.

Swollen, hot, and slightly itchy.

A moment of silence fell over the room, just as Luana finally blinked and snapped out of her reverie.

Unable to avoid the fact that her cheeks were now flushed, Luana froze again as Rey's hands cupped her cheeks in a playful manner.

"I like seeing you blush," the man said honestly. "And your eyes when you're confused, make me want to take you by the hand and bring you to a brighter place."

Luana didn't know where Rey had learned those words, but they managed to stab her to the very core of her heart.

Tearing slowly, but this time in a positive connotation. And Luana had to admit, that she really liked it.

Liked Rey's voice, liked the man's words, and maybe... liked her husband in a different context.

"Are you flirting with me right now, Mr. Rey?"

A stupid question that just flew out of Luana's lips, making her end up cursing herself.

But of course Rey welcomed it happily, signaled by the smirk that suddenly appeared on his handsome face.

"Am I allowed to tease you?"
