For anything! Crab?!
Luana froze completely, as Jovi smiled slightly.
"Master get better soon, ma'am. I'm not worried because you're here, because I have to go abroad tonight," the man said with no burden at all. "I hope Madam can take good care of him. No, definitely better than anyone else."
Jovi's words made Luana even more amazed, wondering what exactly she should do. Wait, she even hesitated to enter the room, now fully blaming herself for Rey the noble's allergy.
If only she hadn't...
"You're leaving?"
Jovi nodded reverently. "A few days, so it looks like Master will be working alone."
Luana's hand tightened down there, mixed with worry and guilt at the same time.
'What should I do?' Again Luana monologued with herself. 'Is Rey going to cuss and yell at me if we meet face to face later? Oh my God, Luana. What do I do?'
Still monologuing with themselves, Luana and Jovi gave a small gasp as the sound of the door opening came from the room.
The doctor with the perched glasses smiled, tightening his grip on the tote bag he had brought in earlier.
The bag contained some examination equipment and medicine, which he had prepared when he got the news that the nobleman's allergies had flared up again this morning.
Last time, he remembered that it was almost a year ago that he came and saw Rey in a similar condition. But at that time, Rey was completely unaware that he was eating soup that was mixed with processed shrimp.
But this time was different, because the man...
"How is he, Doc?" Luana had already approached first, looking worriedly at the doctor who looked to be in his mid-fifties.
The doctor smiled.
"Sir is fine, ma'am," he said half-soothingly. "I left an ointment and some kind of capsules on the table, so make sure Mr. Rey take them until the swelling disappears. Don't forget to apply the ointment to any reddened spots, and make sure he only bathes in warm water."
Luana nodded quickly, committing the doctor's instructions to memory. This was her first time facing a situation like this, and she knew she had to be prepared for every eventuality.
"All right, Doctor," Luana said in a voice that was still full of anxiety. "I will, thank you. Is he back to sleep now?"
"No, ma'am." The doctor painted another smile on his face, as he now looked at Jovi as he spoke. "Sir asked you to come in, Jovi. And I must return to the hospital immediately."
Jovi understood the order, as he now reached out to shake the doctor's hand. "Thank you, Doctor. Take care on the way."
Luana kept her lips sealed as the doctor nodded his head to excuse himself. No longer escorting the doctor downstairs, Jovi cast a quick glance at their grand mistress.
"I'll go in first, ma'am," he said, breaking the silence. "Are you coming?"
Answering the question from her husband's secretary, Luana chose to shake her head. Let Jovi and Rey meet face to face first, as she was sure that her presence between the two men would probably have no effect.
"Come in first," Luana invited. "I'll come in after you come out."
It was better that way, because now Luana had a lot of time to craft her apology.
She really needed some space before meeting Rey again, at least to prepare herself to face him. Because whatever happens later, Luana is ready for all the consequences she might get.
Not moving at all from the front of their room, Luana was a little surprised when a few twelve minutes later Jovi came out from there.
"Come in, ma'am," Jovi said this time. "I have to go, so don't forget what the doctor said."
Not at all commanding, Jovi spoke his words in a friendly voice.
Nodding vaguely, Luana took a deep breath. "All right. You can handle this, Luana!" she said to herself, encouragingly.
Not waiting for Jovi to pass, Luana stepped slowly to reach the door handle. Like a student about to enter the counseling room, Luana felt her heartbeat suddenly accelerate.
Her breathing was almost ragged, just as she poked her head out of the doorway. No longer lying down like this morning, Rey now seemed to be leaning with two pillows on the headboard.
Seeing Luana's face on the other end, Rey looked away from the tab he was holding. Not yet making a sound, Luana closed the door slowly.
With forced steps, the woman twisted her hands together as a sign that she was sorry for what happened this morning.
"You came, Luana." Rey greeted first, raising his head to get a better look at Luana.
Stopping right beside Rey's bed, Luana cleared her throat softly. Occasionally the young woman returned Rey's gaze, punctuated by her head bowed in guilt.
"How are you?" she asked in a half-whisper. "I'm sorry to hear that, I hope you get better soon, and I really--"
"Come here, Luana." Not giving Luana a chance to finish her sentence, Rey had already interrupted her.
Luana raised her head again, letting the two pairs of eyeballs meet each other despite the awkwardness.
Having strengthened her heart if Rey was going to shout or get angry directly in front of her this time, in fact Luana was even confused because the look in the man's eyes did not contain anger or disappointment at all.
Not at all, because what Luana caught there was the same light that had been shining on her since yesterday.
Brightly lit, with a gentleness and a gaze that was perhaps... yearning.
"Sit here," Rey repeated as he patted the edge of the bed, asking the woman to come closer.
It took five seconds for Luana to finally comply, moving forward and sitting on the part of the bed Rey had patted.
Now the two of them could stare at each other at a fairly close distance, although no one could tell how their hearts actually spoke.
"Have you eaten?" asked Rey in a moderate tone of voice.
Luana nodded slowly. "I did. I was just finishing my breakfast when Jovi and the doctor arrived."
Rey tugged at the corners of his lips, relieved just to hear that Luana had eaten. Plis, Rey.
"They must have surprised you," Rey surmised. "Didn't they?"
Again Luana nodded vaguely, because that was the reality.
"I was a little surprised," she agreed. "But actually more worried, because I feel very--"
"Here." Again Rey managed to interrupt first, thrusting a tub of ointment at Luana.
Stunned, Luana moved quickly to grab what her husband was offering. Realizing that the man was again not letting her say one word, which she really wanted to say.
'Guilty'.
Guilty, because she was the one who asked to eat the crab dimsum yesterday afternoon.
"Is this your ointment?"
This time it was Rey who nodded. Without being commanded, the man's hands moved quickly to undo one by one the buttons of the long-sleeved pajamas he was wearing.
Revealing the pajamas with a super gentleman and macho movement, Rey had a faint smile when he saw Luana's widened bead.
This was the first time he had let Luana - someone other than Jovi and his doctor - see how allergic he was. And for some reason, Rey really didn't mind it.
Holding her breath, Luana could not believe what she was seeing right now. How the nobleman's upper body was covered with reddish patches that looked painful, even though there were no sighs or groans from earlier from the man's lips.
Scattered all over the body, the reddish patches formed a circular and random pattern of medium size.
"Sir, you...," Luana stammered.
"Are you going to apply that ointment on me, Luana?" asked Rey in a very soft tone of voice.
There was no intimidation, no command. The man was purely asking, without even being pushy.
This was another side of the nobleman that had just been revealed, aside from how cold he had been during their first meeting.
"Of course. I'll do it," Luana replied, also without hesitation. This all happened because of her request, after all.
A request that she half regretted now. Why only half? Because the flavor of the dim sum was really delicious.
Opening the lid of the ointment, Luana deftly poured it onto her fingertips. Approaching was hesitant at first, but the woman tried to act naturally.
"Come here," Rey called out. "Just brush it on thinly."
With the distance further reduced, Luana could even faintly smell the scent of the man's body. Rey's breathing could also be heard very close, as Luana's delicate fingers rubbed the white medicine over her husband's skin.
Patiently, Luana applied the cream slowly.
"Like this?" Luana confirmed.
Nodding, Rey himself held his breath when he smelled the fruity scent that wafted from his wife's long mane.
Luana's rosy cheeks convinced Rey of one thing for sure, that the woman was probably having an orgy with herself.
The strokes almost made their way to the underside of Rey's chest, as Luana's fingers now trailed down the man's plaid stomach. Still trying to control herself, Luana gave a small gasp when Rey's hand suddenly grabbed hers.
Luana blinked a few times just as Rey brought his face closer to hers, followed by a whisper Rey might have uttered with a little brain.
"Luana, can I kiss you?"
