Rey loosened the tie that felt suffocating. The man glanced at the watch on his left wrist, noticing it was getting late.

After attending the dinner so well, Rey and Jovi still had some important meetings with their colleagues to continue.

By now, the shorthand on his watch read almost ten o'clock in the evening, and it seemed he had bought himself enough time.

"I'm going up," he said to Jovi, who was still trying to stay focused, even though he was already feeling quite tired.

Jovi nodded. "Yes, sir."

The man cleared the few files on the table, quickly standing up to follow Rey, who had risen first from his seat.

"Have you prepared everything for tomorrow?" Rey asked just before he took the first step.

"Everything is in place. Do you still want to go?"

Rey did not answer immediately but paused to take a deep breath.

"We'll see tomorrow," Rey replied half-heartedly, shoving both hands into his pants pockets now.

Jovi made a respectful gesture just as Rey turned around and swung around to leave the meeting room.

Waiting until his master turned to head towards the elevator, Jovi passed from there as well. Taking a different direction, Rey Lueic's right-hand man planned to head to his room.

The ringing of the bell was heard when Rey reached the floor where his room was located, wondering if the woman who had become his wife today was asleep or not.

Pausing his steps in front of the door, Rey exhaled heavily as he pulled a card from his pants pocket.

Placing the card on the detector, the nobleman gripped the handle and pushed the door open slowly.

The room seemed dim, as the leading light had been replaced with nightlights on either side of the bed. But Rey's eyes caught something that left him speechless as he found Luana sitting on the sofa with her arms hugging her legs in front of her.

She seemed to have her head down and had already changed from her earlier dress to a pair of bright gray floral nightgowns.

Rey slowed down. Entering the room and trying not to make too much noise, the nobleman did not realize that his feet were now leading him to Luana.

She was already asleep, with her face resting on her tight knees.

Rey did not know why Luana had chosen to fall asleep on the sofa in that position, rather than lying on their vast and still empty bed.

Now stopped right beside Luana, Rey observed how the woman's face looked so delicate, with eyelashes that looked very plump.

Luana's cheeks had a natural rosy hue, with her hair tied in a ponytail.

While enjoying watching the woman, Rey felt a tremendous rumbling in his chest.

The scene where the stranger had landed a peck on the back of Luana's hand managed to disturb Rey and make him feel uncomfortable.

Like there was a feeling of being lost, his self-esteem wholly tarnished.

Not knowing where to get the courage, Rey just moved his hand to rub Luana's head.

Rey held his breath, feeling how soft the woman's mane was on his skin.

'No,' he whispered to himself. 'It shouldn't be like this.'

Unable to pull his hand away from the woman's head, Rey was stunned when Luana suddenly blinked and opened her eyes.

Finding the nobleman so close to her, this time it was Luana who gasped in surprise because she felt something very warm on her head earlier, which turned out to be the words of Rey, the cold man.

Luana raised her head to look straight into Rey's face.

"Are you back?" she asked in a hoarse voice.

Rey did not immediately answer but also did not lift his hand from Luana's head. As if there was glue holding the man's sturdy hands to his wife's head, Rey just stared back at Luana.

"Why are you sleeping here?" asked Rey in a flat tone.

Luana cleared her throat softly. She still felt the nobleman's hand on her head, but she made no effort to avoid the touch.

"You can sleep up there," Luana said hesitantly. "I'll just sleep here."

Luana truly realized how different she was from Rey Lueic. She was just a lowly servant, while he was a respected nobleman.

It never crossed Luana's mind to lie beside any noble, let alone in the same bed.

Rey watched Luana closely. Looking at the woman's eyeballs just like that, Rey was provoked by the resentment still entrenched at the bottom of his heart.

It was apparent that this woman was avoiding him. It was evident that this woman was keeping her distance from him.

Luana was still waiting, when Rey chose not to open his voice anymore.

Suddenly approaching, the man wrapped his strong arms around Luana's body. With a single stroke, Rey managed to hold his tiny wife in his arms.

Luana's eyes reflexively widened, finding that she had now moved into Rey's arms in a very short time.

Luana tried to get out of the nobleman's arms, but her small body did not have the strength to match how Rey was dominating her body now.

"Hey, what are you--"

The man took significant steps, heading towards their bed with his breath coming fast.

He was losing control, but Rey's footsteps did not slow down.

Luana's heart was beating so fast it was as if she was facing the end of her history.

Rey threw her body onto the bed, glaring at Luana sharply from where he stood.

Luana gasped again, almost struggling to breathe.

"Really, I can sleep--"

Suddenly, the man's fingers moved, fingering the bottom button of his shirt.

Noticing Rey's absurd-looking movements, Luana almost fainted.

'No,' Luana thought. 'He couldn't have done it. What should I do now?'

Publishing a scornful smile at the corner of his lips, Rey did not at all slow down the movement to open his shirt now.

Until the top button of the navy blue shirt was undone, Rey let Luana stare at how his upper body was now only clad in a dark undershirt.

The man's body looked so sculpted, with his broad chest and muscles hidden. Rey Lueic was really something. He was not just any man.

The man smiled even more triumphantly when he found Luana trying to close her eyes in an obviously shy gesture.

"Put your clothes on!" exclaimed Luana impatiently. "What are you doing now?!"

Ray stepped closer, ignoring Luana's fearful question.

"What else?" said Rey casually. "Touching my wife, of course."
