And that's still not enough, of course, which means he still can't bring Fanny back.
The passing days had begun to take their toll on him as he only closed his eyes for an hour or two each night only to wake up drenched in a cold sweat with a gun pointed at an invisible enemy.
His appearance also began to show signs of serious coercion.
While his eyes were now permanently sunk in and there was deep darkness beneath them, his complexion looked dull and almost sickly.
His people believe it is most likely due to the alcohol and tobacco diet he has, but they know better than to say anything to him.
Despite reaching his end, Michel did not give up.
Therefore, he held a final meeting because of the month that Mr. Aiden has given him that is ending in two days and he wants to give away a few final details of his plan.
"So the news is out that I've taken over now. Now we need to brief all the Guests on what's going on - get ready to assist us. Vengo, you need to talk to Rowan and Alexander Ask them to stay alert in the pubs Charles and Carlos, I'll need you on standby for any information that will start coming in from Kieran and Bellamy. I need you ready to command all of our security. We still have Audrey and Rosabella to consider." Michel spoke determinedly as they sat in the office, nodding in understanding.
As they began to slowly walk out of the room, Michel noticed that Andy hadn't left yet, but had instead gone to his desk to stand there, looking around uneasily.
"Boss..."
"Yes, Andy." He spoke absently as he was busy checking his phone for messages from Kieran, Bellamy, or Kaylin.
"About your engagement, I..."
"I canceled it, Andy."
"What?"
Michel glanced at his mafia brother, feeling a bit annoyed that he wanted to talk about this right now with everything going on.
"Don't think I don't know about your little act. But luckily for you, that's not my priority right now. And it shouldn't be yours either. Do you understand?"
Andy clearly gulped but nodded quickly.
He wasn't sure what Michel meant but the words that followed were clear to him.
"Andy, let's just teach the bastards a lesson and get her home, okay? Once she's home and safe, you'll have your blessing to marry Farrah."
Though Andy was immediately relieved by what his team leader had to say, the moment was cut short when the door suddenly opened and Kaylin burst in, closely followed by Carlos, Vengo, and Charles.
"I got there as fast as I could. I got the address, boss. It's a Phoenix house." Kaylin handed Michel a piece of paper.
Michel snatches it out of her hand and immediately goes to the gun cabinet, grabbing all the ammunition and locks they'll need.
"I want to go too." Kaylin declared.
"Seriously? Like this?" Carlos retorted, pointing at Kaylin's outfit.
She looked down at herself.
"Those heels are killer heels. They might help. Who knows?"
"You will be a liability," Vengo argued.
"We don't have time to save you."
Kaylin tilted her head to the side.
"Really?"
It happens quickly. But the next thing they knew, Carlos was lying on the floor with Kaylin's legs wrapped around his neck.
"What the hell? Get lost." Carlos snapped his fingers.
"Still think I'm a liability?" She patted her thigh, her voice filled with venom.
She stood up and looked at Michel.
"Another body to protect Fanny." She added, frowning at him.
She knew he couldn't say no.
"I think you'll need a woman by your side when you find her." Charles stepped forward and motioned to Kaylin.
Staring at Kaylin, Michel saw her determination and finally nodded.
She was right. The more bodies to protect Fanny, the better.
And Kaylin is not a liability. She is more of an asset. A woman can easily confront anyone.
Michel knows he can shoot guns and has excellent fighting skills.
So turning to Andy, he quickly instructed him to stay and cover the house before he faced Vengo and kept his gaze.
"You too. You need to stay here."
"But..."
"You're about to become a father. I wouldn't have heard of it."
And before Vengo could react, Michel stepped out, closely followed by Charles, Carlos, and Kaylin.
Outside, a few of their security guards had taken the car out so he entered without a word while Charles got into the driver's seat.
---
Driving to the location was very stressful.
When the car stopped, Michel quickly got out.
This time, Charles and Carlos led, while he and Kaylin were behind. They didn't even wait when Charles rushed forward and slammed the door shut, sending them inside in seconds.
As soon as they stepped inside, the gun went off and bullets flew.
Mr. Aiden seems ready, and he's not alone.
The men of Phoenix surrounded the house, and Michel quickly crouched down, avoiding a bullet that might have passed through his head.
Growling in frustration, he shot at the man in front of him, the bullet piercing his heart.
Michel did not have time to play with the children.
Turning around, he shot at any man who came into his path.
Bullets in the legs, some in the neck, and some in the head.
Through it all, Mr. Aiden was nowhere to be seen. Cowardice.
Of course, he was nowhere to be found.
When most of the Phoenix soldiers had descended, Michel nodded to Charles and Carlos.
They searched the house as he continued to shoot down the remaining men, Kaylin beside him following.
She is ruthless in her attacks.
Her bullets pierced their bodies with amazing ferocity.
Michel saw a man standing in front of him, pointing a gun at his chest.
He pulled the trigger, but nothing happened.
A gunshot echoed through the wall and although he expected a sharp pain in his chest, he found the man dead instead.
Glancing at Kaylin, she rubbed her gun against her leather pants and winked at him.
"Welcomes you."
Carlos ran down the stairs, a frantic look on his face.
"Fanny wasn't there."
Charles came to stand beside Michel.
"I searched on the first floor. She wasn't there either."
