Lucifer
I sat at the edge of the bed, my face buried between my hands.
Looking at the clock, I groaned as I saw the time.
11:17 p.m.
I glanced behind me to see Blair sleeping in the middle of my bed.
She took up both my side and hers with her limbs flung carelessly.
Her hair was laid out on both pillows, some locks falling onto her face.
Today was very eventful. It had my mind storming with thoughts.
It would hurt me to find out that I was wrong about the baby.
But I had no doubts. I'm never wrong.
Getting up and walking into the bathroom, I looked at myself in the mirror.
Being sleep-deprived never changed the appearance of my face.
No bags, no dark circles, nothing.
Sighing deeply, I massaged my temple before leaning down and turning the faucet on.
I splashed my face with water and when I stood back up, I kept my eyes closed.
"I know you're there." I spoke. My voice came out low and husky.
I felt her move to behind me.
Her arms wrapped around my bare torso and she pressed her body against me.
She placed her head on my back and tightened her arms around me.
"What's wrong?" She asked me.
"Nothing. Go back to bed." I told her, turning around and placing my hand behind her neck.
"I'm not tired anymore." She said and I could see something else in her eyes.
"Bad dream." I stated, not bothering to ask answers.
She just nodded and buried her face in my chest.
I kissed the top of her head and sighed.
"Come with me." I told her and she looked at me in confusion before she smiled.
"Let me grab a jacket." She said and I pecked her lips, watching her walk away.
I walked out of the bathroom and threw on a shirt and some sweats.
Walking out of the bedroom, I grabbed my keys.
"Baby, let's go." I called and she skipped into the living room.
I took her hand and walked out of the dorm, pausing to lock the door.
She tugged on my hand and I glanced at her. She pointed to something behind me and I looked.
I rolled my eyes and turned around fully before leaning against my locked door.
Aiden came walking down the hallway. His tired eyes were fixated on Blair as he approached.
I pulled her infront of me and wrapped an arm around her waist.
"Blair, can I talk to you for a minute?" He asked her and I chuckled.
"Speak." I told him darkly and he sighed, running a hand through his hair.
"Look, I'm sorry about what I did. But what is this that I'm hearing about you carrying my baby?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.
"It's not yours." I told him.
What the fuck was this? Did he forget that I could easily fucking kill him? Or do I have to give him an example?
"I was the last person to hit that." He said smirking and I chuckled.
I was about to reach for my gun when she smacked my hand away from my waistband.
"Behave." She said in a low voice and he gave her a confused look, obviously not realizing that she was talking to me.
"I, do not, fucking argue with children." I told him, standing straight and walking over to him.
"But I do kill people. If I even find out, that that kid is yours? You're dead." I said darkly and he backed away.
Fear shone in his eyes and he shook his head before scurrying away.
"You're scary." I heard her taunting voice from behind me.
I smirked slightly and turned around to face her.
"Oh, really?" I asked, walking closer until I was standing right infront of her.
"Yes." She said and I grabbed her waist.
"How so?" I asked, burying my face in the crook of her neck.
"You're big and bad." She said, humor held within her voice.
"Yeah?" I questioned and she giggled as I blew on her neck.
"Mhm." She confirmed and I chuckled. I pulled my head out of her neck and kissed her.
"Let's go." I told her, dragging her out of the building.
We got into my car and I turned on the heat for her. She gave me a grateful smile and leaned back in her seat.
I sat there, looking at her before pulling out my phone.
Glancing down at the screen, I looked back up at her.
"There's a Street Race tonight." I told her, pulling out of the parking lot.
"Are you going?" She said, excitement as clear as day on her face.
"Want to?" I asked, glancing over at her.
"Yes!" She said happily and I shook my head, grabbing her hand.
I brought it up to my lips and kissed it. From the corner of my eye I saw a deep tint take over her cheeks.
She smiled to herself and looked out of the window.
The ride there wasn't long. It was just out of town in a remote area.
I drove there and started taking the dirt road down to the spot.
Soon, music could be heard pumping loudly.
The music matched the mood of everything around, only adding adrenaline to the raving people around.
There was a sea of people in the main area, which was scattered with red solo cups and beer bottles.
I parked a few feet away and looked over at her.
"This," I said, pointing to the race track. "Is illegal." I finished and her eyes widened slightly before she nodded.
"Okay. Are you racing?" She asked me and I nodded.
"Let's go." I told her, getting out of the car and walking around to her side.
She slid out and before I could walk away, she grabbed my face and pulled me down to her level.
"Be careful." She said and I smirked at her concern. "I love you."
Those three fucking words shot into my heart like a dart.
Pussy.
It made me feel something within my soul but all of my emotions vanished like it always did.
Sighing internally, I pecked her lips and looked at her.
"I love you more, Miller."
