Let's kill this love!
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Rum, pum, pum, pum, pum, pum, pum, pum
Let's kill this love!
Rum, pum, pum, pum, pum, pum, pum, pum
Gabriella frowned as she opened her closed eyes. She grimaced and fumbled with the cell phone on the nightstand. "This must be Wendy who changed my ringtone to this." She pressed the icon on the screen and the call was connected immediately. "Hello?"
"Hello, Bestie! Are you awake?"
Rolling over to the side of the bed, Gabriella replied, "You changed my ringtone to a Korean song, Wen?"
"That's not a Korean song, sweetie. That's Blackpink's song, let kill this love ratata ratata."
Gabriella giggled as she got up from her comfortable bed. "You want to die, um?"
"Ahaha, you're so clueless, you don't even know Blackpink. Don't you know BTS, EXO, Secret Number too?" Wendy sounded probing on the other side.
"I'm so busy taking care of your son, Wira, that I don't have time to know Korean songs." Gabriella walked over to the mirror to make sure her eyes no longer looked puffy from last night. "What are you doing calling me this early in the morning anyway?"
"I'm really lazy when I'm with Wira, I'd rather be with Ryan. My favorite guy." Wendy said without a comma. "This is it, earlier Wira wrote to me, he asked, do you still intend to return to the office, he seems to want to give you a second chance? Because it looks like he really needs you. Didn't you contact him?"
"I blocked it."
"are you serious?!"
"For God's sake."
Wendy laughed there, making Gabriella smile along with her. After all, why did Wendy have to ask her such a strange question. That woman was indeed the best mood Gabriella had. "You're very cool. Uh but, if you don't want to work back here, where do you want to work? What's Ken's offer?"
"Well, I have no other choice. Today I think I'll go to Ken's place to check how his work is."
"SERIOUSLY?"
"Yes."
"really, Elle?"
Gabriella rolled her eyes lazily before saying, "Seriously. I need a lot of money."
"For what?"
"My father is sick, he needs a lot of money for treatment."
"Oh my, sorry. I didn't know," said Wendy feeling bad. "So how is he now?"
"I met him yesterday afternoon. He seems okay, but the treatment is still expensive, so like it or not, I have to work again to help my father." Trying to be honest was Gabriella's way of making peace with herself in this difficult situation. Putting her pride first would only get her into trouble. "I also just found out that he was seriously ill yesterday."
"Duh, I'm sorry I couldn't take you to Ken's place, Elle," said Wendy. "Because you resigned, some work was transferred to me today."
"I'm sorry, Wen."
"No, no, I should apologize for not being able to accompany you to meet Ken." Wendy mumbled for a while, then continued. "I transferred you two million, Elle. You can use this money to help your father, tomorrow when I get another paycheck, I'll add more, okay?"
"Why are you giving me money? I want to do my own business, I don't want to beg you."
"If you say that again, I'll unfriend you!"
"Haha but I'm serious, I'm fine."
"No, I still want to do this. Okay?" Gabriella secretly smiled at the kindness of her best friend. "Alright, get ready, Ken is usually at the restaurant at this hour, call me when you're there."
"Okay.
"Bye, my dear Gabriella."
"Bye, Wen."

The building, which was dominated by gray and pink colors, immediately caught Gabriella's attention as soon as she sat down at one of the tables. Her gaze wandered around incessantly. She was quite curious about the modern and colorful interior that the owner had deliberately presented.
"Excuse me, please have a drink," said the waitress as she placed a cup of hot tea on the table.
"Thank you."
The man in light gray clothes who had just delivered Gabriella's drink bowed his head politely and left the table, just as Ken appeared shortly after. Ken pulled up a chair in front of Gabriella and placed his small clutch and cell phone on the table.
"Have you been waiting long? Sorry, I had to check all the equipment in the kitchen first before we open today."
The woman in her casual dongker blue outfit deliberately combined a tanktop with a jeans jacket. After all, Gabriella hadn't thought that she would be working at Ken's place directly that day, she came with the intention of wanting to know more about the job first before actually agreeing to the owner of Selera Chinnese Food's offer.
"It's okay, just relax," Gabriella said casually.
"So, did you think of my offer yesterday?"
Instead of small talk, Ken preferred to quickly get into the heart of their conversation. He adjusted his sitting position, as if it was uncomfortable, before looking at Gabriella curiously. Honestly, Ken was very interested in the outward appearance of the woman who was now sitting in front of him. Gabriella had round black eyes, lustrous eyelashes and thick, natural-looking eyebrows. Her nose was sharp and her skin was very clear. Shouldn't Ken have given a ten for Gabriella's outward appearance?
"I'm here to ask about the job first," Gabriella explained, just as to the point as Ken.
"I see. Well, as I said yesterday, you can work here as a writer for our website, it just so happens that my website is occasionally filled with freelance writers, but it just so happens that the contract with us is over, so yeah. If your work is good, you can double as a social media analyst for my restaurant too." Gabriella nodded slowly while listening to Ken's explanation. "The goal is obviously to increase the profit of my restaurant. And, I apply the same thing to my other employees, if they can bring friends or groups to organize events here, they can get 10% of the profits outside of their salary."
"Hm, okay, I understand."
"Do you need to hear the monthly salary too?"
Who wouldn't be curious about that. Gabriella nodded her head and said, "If you don't mind."
"For freelance writers, we calculate per article. One article we charge 5-10 dollars for every 500 words, usually our writers do about 3 articles per day, but you can work anywhere, if you want to take a full time worker, you have to stay at the restaurant from nine to 7 pm, there is an additional meal money of about 20 dollars per day. Your working time is around twenties, up to twenty-one days depending on yourself. How's that? Understood, right?"
Gabriella's eyes bulged. She was a little shocked by Ken's offer.
"How? Why are you staring at me?" Gabriella blinked. "If you take social media analyst as well and want to focus on sales, you can get an additional 15%."
"Isn't this... wrong? How can a writer make so much money?"
"Writers need time, ideas, and energy too, right? So, don't use 'just' for any job. Besides, this is my restaurant, I'm free to pay whatever I want. Right?" The man smiled. "How about it? Are you interested in joining here?"
