Talia's POV.
The warm feel of blood trickling down my head seemed to excite Kara, my wolf.
As soon as the swung club hit the side of my head, I felt mad rush in me and ran, no longer in search of my stalker, but away.
They were no match for me on a foot chase. Especially not when Kara was angry and out.
I got to Karl's in no time. He wasn't back.
Still startled from what just happened, I waited outside a bit, Kara wanted to too. I tried to steady my break and regulate my heartbeat.
The whole pack was going to be on fire.
Something must have happened back at the palace.
Maybe someone died. But I saw Vance and Nadia standing side by side together.
There was no one they cared about more than themselves.
The night was cold, but not so dark. Karl was supposed to be home anytime soon.
I waited a bit to see if he'd be back before going into the house. I also kinda didn't want to stay there alone.
I looked closely and saw about three men, not so muscular, mulling someone around, in the house!
It felt like all my nightmares were finally happening.
All my evil dreams were coming to reality, at such a delicate time. I was unfortunate, and I never doubted it.
Thanfully, Kara was ready for a fight.
In no time, she was out. We rushed into the house, breaking the lock they bolted.
The three men looked a little familiar, they must have been with Vance. And that was all the adrenalin boost we needed.
Kara rose to full height, standing on her two back legs, they all froze and quit beating an already bleeding Karl.
I saw them exchange funny looks before changing into their wolves, none as large as mine.
"Who is this cunt?" One of them asked.
Like the sight of Karl wounded and bleeding wasn't annoying enough, he had to spark something primal in m.
I descended on him in a flash, tearing his jaw alat with ease. The sight made me retch because it was gory.
His bleeding head rolled in frantic circles before he collapsed to the floor. I watched him kick as life ebbed slowly out if him.
The remaining two quietened a bit, now wiser that they were two minutes ago.
"Why are you here?" I asked both of them.
"Who the fuck are you? How is any of this your business?" His voice was shaky, but his eyes were bloodshot, and his claw drawn. It could only mean danger.
"He's my friend." I replied to him, even if he didn't deserve it.
Before the words completely left my mouth, the other one jumped on me from behind, strangling me while he dug his claw into my him shoulder.
Blood trickled down my snow white fur, staining it.
It felt like the blood left with all the strength in my arm, my left arm.
He saw that I could not lift it and decided to exploit the opportunity.
He twisted his claws in my shoulder and I could almost swear I felt it dislocate.
Maddened by his guts, I put my free arm behind me, and directly into his eyes. Feeling the balls, I tore and trusted till I had a bloody mess on my arm. His grip had long loosened.
I had no interest in killing him, so I slapped him across the face, taking a generous amount of flesh with me.
There was one left. The only one who had talked to me.
We were looking at each other eye to eye. He was scared, I was determined.
"I'm going to ask you one more time. What is happening at the palace? And why are you here? If you don't not reply in the next ten seconds, this glance of me will be the last picture you have." I said
'Tracy confessed. She confessed to killing the Alpha's former mate." He replied, his words muddled and indistinct.
He was scared to the bones, and I tried to avoid the sight of his already damp pants.
I asked him to leave the house, and he did, immediately.
'What in the world did that mad woman just do?" I said aloud as I started getting ready for what was going to be a long night.
'Is this not the part where you help me up?" Karl asked. I never knew he was still in talking conditions. He looked a little battered.
'Yes. Yes. I'm sorry, I got lost thinking, I no longer saw the half dead man in front of me.
I looked around, and all I could do was hope he didn't mind having two nearly dead wolves over.
Karl was stronger than I gave him credit for.
'They needed info. All I had to do was act weak to minimise the beatings." He offered.
That was smart. It saved him from being a bloody pulp by the time I got in. I felt bad for not Bing there on time to help him. For getting there and waiting outside.
'How did it happen?" I asked him.
'Apparently they were at our meeting. None of us knew. They followed me back, and this was what I got here to." He said.
'That's too bad. There's trouble in the palace." I said.
'I know. It's part of what we discussed." He replied to me.
'Someone said she confessed and got locked up." He started. 'That's was little past moon. Most likely after y'all little meeting. I thought you said that didn't go fine?" He asked.
'Well it didn't. I kinda lost my cool at some point and said things I shouldn't have." I confessed to him.
Earlier, I dragged Tracy's son and life into the mix. It was how she knew I was the one.
I told her I'd help her get out if she said everything she knew about it, everything. For Nadia to still have been by Vance's
It was also what upset her and made her leave.
Then I remembered seeing wounds on her. What could that have been for? I was so engrossed, I didn't ask about that.
"Will you be fine on your own?" I asked Karl.
There were loose ends I really had to tie up.
"Sure. Sure. Do your thing. I'd be okay." He said. He sounded it too.
I threw my cloak on and went back to where I shouldn't be, the palace.
On the way there, it struck me that what I was looking for was not necessarily inside the palace, but outside.
I just got snuck back into the bushes I was chased out of only few minutes ago.
I knew I had a death warrant with the way I went back. The place would obviously be on fire.
'I know you would come back." She said.
'Don't be so sure. I almost didn't." I replied to her.
'I talked to Vance yesterday. He thought I was just high, but had m locked up. I had to take excuse, somehow, he granted me, to come see you. Then, then you said all you said and I rated out Nadia." She explain.
'Why did you make it seem like you weren't going to do it, Tracy?" I asked, feeling sorry for all I ever said. .
'There was commotion in the palace earlier." I told her.
'Yeah. I was right behind you. I confessed to Vance in a note. And now, now you have to help me escape. Because Nadia will be on my neck." She sounded full of fear.
'That's alright." I told her.
I gave her directions to Karl's house, which she got, and it was that easy to get rid of her. But my job wasn't done.
According to Tracy, Nadia knew she had told Vance about it, but she didn't know she had implicated her yet.
Vance also didn't tell her, but he had sent men, Tracy saw, to go get the doctor who made the poison.
I knew Nadia wasn't daft. She knew better than to stay in Vance's palace with the truth of how she became Luna half leaked.
Tracy was gone and I made sure of it.
I circled the palace for movements, and movements I heard.
It was past one a, Friday morning, the day if the attack. I really hoped Karl's pepel would b on time, even though we didn't set any.
It had dawned on me at that point, when the full Moon rose unexpectedly that it was my night, my time to revenge, my Moonlit Revenge.
I heard distant shuffling in the bushes, which I traced as quietly as I could.
I also heard voices, an exchange of voices.
I threw away all additional piece of clothing I had on, to rid myself of extra baggage.
They stop talking, someone came out, a man, Landon.
I leaned as close to the wall as I could, away from his evil eyes.
Nadia was on the loose.
There were up to something.
