Vance's POV

I was finally happy, delirious even that she came back.

I had given instructions to my guards before I even wrapped the pack meeting up. She wasn't to leave the palace into the thin air on that day. And they obeyed.

Whikedi made it look, to Nadia, that I was out of the palace because she had struck an argument and was getting on my nerves, I really wanted to see my sweet Sin again.

'Why are you scared?" I asked

'I just am." She replied. Isla was obviously really ill at ease.

'Alpha! Alpha!" I heard my boys screaming and running towards my door. Something must be up.

My erection quickly fell as I threw a robe on my naked self and went towards the door, making sure it was locked and secure.

'There are intruders. They are attacking Moonstone. They've reached the palace. News has it they are headed here." I've literally never heard them talk as fast as they did that day.

It's been a minute since we experienced all those in Moonstone. It's been relatively peaceful, asides the Landon issue which was something that didn't repeat itself again. Besides those, there was no reason to expect an attack on Moonstone.

Isla was oddly very quiet and collected.

'They're masked and armed. Hurry! Hide!" My right hand guard screamed as I unbolted the door to peep.

All the guards present trooped in, securing Isla and I in a spot that none would reach without passing through them first. It was the rule. The Alphas life first.

'They're here." His gruff voice announced as quietly as he could.

We didn't need telling. We could already guess from the sounds of shattering window panes, doors, plates and even people.

How the hell did they even know I was here?

Admittedly, it wasn't as inconspicuous as I'd have loved it to be, as it was quite high, but it was also safely tucked away from typical 'Moonstone".

It could only be one person.

Couldn't wait for this to be over. I was bloodthirsty and ready to crack down.

I took one look at Isla, who looked quite scared, but largely unshaken.

I needed to show whoever had the balls to come against me with swords and guns and things that I was too strong a wolf for that.

I let out one loud growl, I was even fully transformed before the end of it.

'Watch her." I instructed them before tearing down the doors with my bare hands.

They were really masked and armed. But after a full moon charge, they shouldn't have had a chance on me.

I felt the peak I had ever felt in a very long time. It was pure lust for blood.

It had been an uncomfortable while since I had had proper reason for unleashing my wrath. It's been a really long while of bottling. I was prepared to go at them neck for neck, throat for throat.

I smelt blood, very near, and I was ready.

As soon as I saw a head rear itself from the blunted corner down the hallway, I raced over, snapping the neck off in very quick motion.

The cry alarmed the others, and it wasn't up to a second before I began to feel all footsteps moving to me.

It was about to be a fucking bloodbath.

The guys were almost so easy it felt more like I was hunting than fighting. I would have doubted if they were even wolves at all if I didn't sense their souls go out of them.

I had gone through all of them, or so I initially thought.

I could sense something was still up, unfinished.

It was such an easy kill for all the fuss they made.

It couldn't have been all of them here.

I made a quick count and about fifteen men were down.

There was something unfinished about it.

Suddenly, I saw my guards run out, leaving only Isla. That was both stupid and very disobedient of them.

I quickly raced to our suite, grabbed her in one swoop from the corner she was huddled and raced out to her. There was no sense in heading to the palace. At least not the parts Nadia was used to.

I snuck into my own palace, still with Isla in my arms, I connected the basement from the back.

'Stay here!" I commanded before locking her.

I had to check on Nadia so she doesn't think I was too far off from the palace.

Her face was bruised and battered, I couldn't help but feel very bad.

'I'm so sorry baby." I consoled her, taking her hands in mine.

'You don't fucking get to be sorry when you left me here all by myself." She said weakly. I could feel her try to resist my grip.

'This is not the time for all this." I said calmly. 'We have been compromised and need to lay low for a while. Till we figure out there are no more of them around." Nadia just stared at me silently.

I couldn't decide what to feel hurt for. Whether it was the fact that I was about to cheat on her, or that I wasn't there to defend her, or that I even brought the whole issue on both our heads.

'What are you suggesting now?" She asked.

'That you please stay here. And shut the door behind you. Lock it. No one can come in except through the door. I'd have guards arranged all over." I said, trying to persuade her.

'And where were they when the bastards attacked?" She shot back.

'I'll take that up with them myself. I just need you to be alright." I allayed her fears, while avoiding the murderous look in her eyes.

'Has anyone seen you?" She asked.

'No. Why?" I quizzed. That was such a weird question to ask.

'Your wolf is bleeding." Nadia got up and walked right out of the room I instructed her to stay in. 'I want to grab water, check on the maid too."
