Nadia's POV

I had always known Landon had a knack for doing stupid shit, but I didn't think it would be that bad.

I was only too grateful for not embarrassing myself by having to quiz Tracy and the other maids about the note. But still, he would have used someone to slip it in. That doesn't matter now. Vance was back and Landon was still here, sitting with me, our eyes locked.

There was no point in his running away even if he wanted to. He being here at all is so fucking questionable and Vance would not even take it lightly.

'I hate you." I said to him, And I meant it from the bottom of my heart.

'So funny. Tell me something new." Landon replied sarcastically.

'I wish you could have you out of my life. I'd pay any price for it. You keep making things worse." I had worse things to say than I was spilling,

'These are things I've already known," He replied haughtily, 'but the thing is that, you don't get to choose what happens when it's me who put you where you are. Now, all you're going to do is shut the fuck up, talk when I let you, and make sure support me."He sneered at me.

Vance really was a better option. I've acknowledged the fact that I have a bad destiny when it comes to men, but Vance has always been, by far, the better of the lot. Landon was just an angry bastard who liked using others to fuel his deflated ego.

'I hope your wicked mind has something planned for if Vance walks in on us here." No sooner is it out of my mouth, than we hear Vance's footsteps, loud and fast. There was no running, no hiding.

'Hey." I said as he opened the door. I sounded like a dying bird, and probably looked like one.

Landon had the decency to be off the bed before Vance threw the doors open, saving us both far more explanations.

'What the fuck are you doing here?" Vance roared at Landon.

I had never witnessed any of their clashes. Landon's chest was puffed and didn't look like he was ready to back down.

I didn't need any extraordinary sign to know that it was going to be a mess.

Vance and Landon have had it for each other for a while now. It's not like things have ever always been very good with them. They were friendly rivals as kids, which kinda became something else when Vance finally got married to Talia, the relationship broke down when Talia died and Vance was still roaming freely, and the cherry on the cake was Vance having me as his second mate.

Landon really had genuine reasons to be hurt. But not if he also orchestrated some of these things and they later hit him back in the face.

'What the fuck are you doing here with my Luna?" Vance demanded. His eyes were getting bloodshot.

I scurried to the side of the bed that was farthest from them, just in case they both get blinded by rage and fail to realize my presence.

'Hi Vance. You mean Nadia?" Landon replied, feigning calmness and innocence.

Vance wasn't having any of his bullshit and it was quite obvious. I can't even say what I want the outcome of this fight to be. I have too many stakes in both men. Thankfully, it's really an ego thing and not just me, so they wouldn't be expecting me to take sides.

'I'll slap that smile off your face if the next time you open your rotten mouth, you don't reply to my question." Vance shouted at him.

Landon didn't look like he bothered one bit. I was really scared. Vance's bedroom is the wrongest place to stage a rebellion if he really wanted to do one.

'You're spewing trash." Landon said in an annoying calm voice. I was already crying inside of me. Kyla too was scared. These two men had terrible wrath.

'I swear I would kill you to feed your body to my dogs if you don't scurry out of here now." Vance's eyes had gone from dark red, to plain black.

Landon and I knew it wasn't just an empty threat. I looked at Landon, pleading with him to please walk out before it got any messier.

'I'm sorry." He said and walked out.

The tears on my eyes dried suddenly. I wasn't expecting that, neither was Vance.

Landon left the room like he was never in there.

None of the three of us saw it coming. It would still take a while for Vance's anger to wane. All I had to do was stay the fuck out of his way, I couldn't risk taking the beating for Landon.

But I also had questions to answer when he had my time. The best I could do for myself was to plan the best possible answers to those. We had made a promise to live in peace and better than we used to, I hope Vance remembers this later.

Vance stayed with his face turned away from me and towards the wall, hitting the hard concrete severally till the blood from his knuckles stained the wall.

I had never seen anyone so violent before, not even Landon. I was still just in shock that Landon walked away from the provocation, but Vance was making me more scared.

His blood was everywhere but he still wasn't stopping.

'Please." I sobbed.

My voice was loud enough, but I'm not sure he wanted to be reasoned with.

Finally, he stopped his madness. When he looked at me, his eyes were brighter, but with red circles around. He looked worn and tired, and the bloody mess he had made of his hands.

'What was he here for?" Vance asked, his voice sounding very gruff, and his eyes staring straight ahead.

'He wanted to know why I had stopped seeing him." I responded swiftly and meekly.

'And what did you say?" You got back as soon as he came in.

'I never want to see him here again." He commanded, and I agreed. It was still too dangerous for now.

'Me too." I concurred.

Vance let out a gasp and passed out, falling to the floor.
