Bryn POV
I've spent my entire life knowing I had a purpose to protect the last royal white wolf. This was prior to Mia even being born and when there still were a few white wolves. I always worried I was the wrong one for this destiny based on me being the weakest and youngest Immortal witch. But I did not let my worries stop me from researching, learning to make strong potions and barriers, as well as keep an eye on Mia knowing well at some point she would need me.
I was not allowed to interfere with her until she was the last, as in doing so with the knowledge of who she was and the destiny she carried, it could have altered the future. It pained me knowing she experienced hardships such as she had and she would have to face many more in the future, yet I had to sit and wait. But I understood the purpose, and now with the knowledge of who Mia really is and who Atlas really is, I understand why it was important not to interfere. For they will truly be the ones who can save this world, I could feel it in the air now, dark magic surrounding the entire human and werewolf realm.

Thora was strong, and if she raises this warlock to cast the spell he was almost successful with the first time, we are all doomed. With the gift of more power and strength from Atlas, and Mia choosing me as a protector, I am very honored and will always stand by them to help keep them and this world safe. When Mia had spoken of family dinner, her words had resonated with me since I lost my family as well. And although a coven took me in, I never made many friendships and often felt alone. But now I feel what support from true friends feels like from our small little group. They really are like family to me, like an adopted one.
I sat on the bed in my room I had selected, the softness of the mattress beneath me providing comfort. Flint, joined me so we could both do this together.
"We will keep Mia and Atlas safe," he said to me, his voice filled with determination. I nodded in agreement, my gaze drifting towards the window where Mia and Atlas stood. Outside, the wind rustled the leaves, creating a gentle melody.
"I fear we are in for a difficult journey still," I replied, my voice tinged with concern. I could feel the weight of our unknown future pressing against my shoulders.
Flint looked at me intently, his eyes filled with a mixture of trust and curiosity. "I know you have opened up to us, Bryn, but I also know you still keep things hidden from us," he said.
I sighed, my breath forming a small cloud against the cool glass of the window. "It is to protect destiny," I explained, my voice barely above a whisper. "The knowledge I possess was given to me by those who have foreseen certain events. If shared at the wrong time or with the wrong people, it could alter their destinies, and in turn, everyone's."

Flint nodded in understanding, his expression a mix of acceptance and curiosity. "I won't push too much, then," he said. "But tell me this, since you asked Mia about her past, does she face the same hardships in our future?"
I hesitated, the weight of my secret knowledge pressing against my chest. "If I tell you," I said, my voice filled with regret, "it is knowledge that Mia and Atlas can't have."
Flint nodded again, his eyes filled with a mix of gratitude and understanding. "Understood," he replied, his voice filled with a solemn acceptance.
"The information I have was written down in a journal by my mother who could see into the future. Though she never spoke of Mia being a reincarnation, I am certain she knew, for she lived during the time of the original White wolves.

As I read through her journal, I discovered her writings about the last royal white wolf. She detailed the future capture of Mia and how her survival depended on the bonds she formed. The future, she wrote, was split into two paths. In one, the white wolf met her demise, and evil prevailed, plunging our world into darkness. In the other, the white wolf triumphed, guided by the choices she made.
Although my mother acknowledged that the future of the white wolf's death seemed more potent, she also emphasized that it did not guarantee failure. With hope in my heart, I realize that Atlas, you, and I are the bonds that safeguard Mia from her fate. Yet, I fear that every prediction leads to her falling into the clutches of our enemies.
To protect her, the best course of action is to ensure she is ready to defend herself. That is why I have urged her to accept the power within her," I explained.
Flint nodded understandingly, his eyes reflecting compassion. "Thank you for sharing this with me," he said softly. "I can only imagine how difficult it must have been to carry this burden alone. Mia is like a sister to me, and I vow to protect her and her cause with every fiber of my being. I know her mate will do the same, as will you. Let us embrace this new power so that we may become the army she needs."
A broad grin spread across Flint's face, and I couldn't help but mirror his excitement. Together, we would face whatever challenges lay ahead, united in our purpose to stand beside Mia and fight for a better future."
Flint and I both grasped the smooth stones tightly. As we cut our palms, crimson beads trickled down, mingling with the stones. I could feel a surge of energy coursing through me, intertwining with the power within the stones. Flint, overcome by the transformation, collapsed onto the soft mattress, his breath steady and deep. Meanwhile, I remained awake, my senses heightened by the newfound power.
Leaving Flint to rest, I ventured out in search of Mia and Atlas. The aroma of savory food wafted through the hallways, guiding me towards the kitchen. There, Mia stood, a bundle of excitement, cooking up a storm. Despite her food obsession, she somehow managed to maintain her slender figure, much to everyone's amusement.
Atlas leaned casually against the wall, a smirk playing on his lips as he watched Mia's culinary escapades. Catching sight of me, Mia turned, her eyes bright with warmth. She explained that she wanted to contribute by preparing a meal, considering how much others had done for her. However, her admission of not being the best cook prompted a hidden chuckle from Atlas, his amusement evident in his eyes.
I observed the dish she pulled from the oven, its appearance a bit questionable. Doubts crept into my mind as I wondered how her pack managed to survive her cooking endeavors.
"Where is Flint, he should be the first to try?" Atlas exclaimed, his laughter filling the room. Mia glanced at her dish, joining in the mirth. "It's a meatloaf, and I promise it's edible," she chuckled, handing out plates. "Flint might be gone for a while, so we can save him some."
As Mia passed me a plate, I could feel the warmth emanating from the food. The savory scent of the meatloaf filled the air, making my mouth water. Atlas and I followed Mia to a nearby table.
"I can sense my powers growing stronger," I shared with Mia, taking a bite of the delicious meal. "And I can tell Flint's wolf is transforming into a Lycan. We will be even stronger now, able to protect you better."
Mia's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Bryn, you mentioned knowing vampires. I'd like to meet them."
A smile spread across my face. "Yes, I can arrange that. I believe they will make valuable allies. They too desire a world where we are not constantly separated."
Atlas chimed in, his voice filled with determination. "Mia and I have also discussed approaching the other packs. It's time we reveal ourselves. We can't stay hidden forever." I nodded. Though I had confided in Flint about the future Mia faced, I knew it was part of her destiny. I had to have faith that, as a team, we would all survive.
"We can first approach some of the packs closest to us," I suggested. "Let's head out as a group tomorrow."
"Thank you," Mia replied, her voice filled with gratitude. "I know everyone wants me to stay within the protective barrier, but I also need to show myself and speak with the other packs if I want them to stand by me and Atlas."
Understanding Mia's desire to navigate the intricate web of pack politics, I nodded. She had learned well as the wolf king's daughter. "Mia, if you don't mind, I would like to put this additional power to the test," I said. "I want to see if it helps create a strong protection charm for you when we leave. It's something that will help us find each other if we ever get separated."
"Okay," Mia agreed. We finished our meal, the taste of meatloaf lingering on my tongue, and I motioned for her to follow me.
Once Mia settled into her seat, I eagerly flipped open my worn spell book. The pages crackled with ancient knowledge. My fingers traced the intricate symbols as I went to several glass jars, filled with an array of ingredients. The room was filled with a subtle scent of herbs and spices, a heady mix of rosemary and sandalwood.
I beckoned Mia to hold out her hand, and she complied without hesitation. As she extended her delicate palm, I carefully poured a viscous, shimmering oil over the assortment of ingredients. The liquid cascaded down, coating them in a glistening sheen. With a steady voice, I chanted the incantation, feeling the words resonate deep within me.
In an instant, the ingredients vanished, leaving behind a minuscule black dot on Mia's hand. A triumphant smile tugged at the corners of my lips. This spell had always eluded me, but now I had finally mastered it. Excitement coursed through my veins as I repeated the process with Atlas, his hand outstretched, and then with myself.
Now, all three of us bore the same mysterious mark, a symbol of our newfound connection. I explained to them, my voice filled with anticipation, "We are all linked now. If we concentrate on the person from our group who is missing, this mark will guide us to them."
Atlas seemed visibly pleased, a contented smile gracing his lips, as he delicately brushed his finger over the mark. The worry etched in his eyes, however, betrayed his fear of losing Mia. Even when they shared lighthearted banter while she cooked earlier, his unwavering gaze never left her. It was a testament to the depth of his love for her.
"I'm going to check on Flint now," I informed Mia and Atlas. "We'll all meet up in the morning to visit some of the packs, and I'll make the necessary arrangements to meet with the Vampires as well. Tomorrow, Flint will be overwhelmed with joy and newfound strength I'm sure."
With those words, we bid each other farewell for the rest of the night, anticipation hanging in the air.
