Suddenly, the tranquility surrounding the tourist spot was shattered by the sound of rustling leaves and low growls. When I looked around, the people were oblivious to the threat, and then, I realized that whoever was watching us from a distance probably didn’t want to harm innocent citizens.
So, I gestured for Luke to walk faster so that we could reach the area where it would be just us. Then, a group of unidentified figures emerged and blocked our path. As we had sensed their presence already, I wasn’t surprised.

But then, all of a sudden, spears were raining and I tried to cast a shield but I was too slow for that. I grabbed Luke’s hand as we tried to dodge the attack. “Who are you?” I growled as I asked them, but they just looked at me with bloodlust in their eyes.
As they prepared to kill me, Luke instinctively stepped in front of me, and he shielded me from the potential danger. His eyes were alert, and he scanned the area while protecting me from the guys who showed up first. As the figures advanced toward us, their intentions were clear, and it was to kill me!
Without wasting any time, Luke ordered me to stay behind him, and his protective instincts kicked in. Then, he prepared to confront the attackers. I could see the determination in his eyes, and I knew he would do everything in his power to keep us safe, and I had no doubts about his ability.
His movements were swift and intense, then he skillfully defended us by using his strength and agility to fend off the attackers. Despite the odds, he managed to hold them off, and we were able to run away.
As we didn’t want the public to witness the attack, Luke led me to a nearby forest, but then, a group of men suddenly appeared in front of us, as if they were waiting for us, and knew our next move.
“I don’t understand why you have been targeted lately. Wherever you go, there is danger, Isabella! What have you done?” he confronted me while we kept running away from the enemies.

“It’s a long story, Luke, but the most important thing to do now is to survive this attack,” I told him.
But then, I realized that the men who attacked us were not so experienced in fighting. In fact, Luke defeated them easily, so I said to Luke that we should stop running, and confront the others.
We looked for a big tree and waited for our attackers there to catch them off guard, and when they came, it was us who appeared suddenly in front of them. Their eyes widened in shock that we did what they did to us earlier.
"Who are you? Why did you suddenly attack me and Luke?” I asked them.

"We thought you y-you are an enemy. Rogue is everywhere! We do not mean harm! We just want to protect our territory!" one of them replied with a quivering voice.
“Are you saying that there are more werewolves in this forest?” Luke asked and the guy nodded.
“Yes, sir. Our pack is located nearby, and when we sensed that you were not humans earlier, we panicked, and we believed that enemies have found us!”
“Lead us to your pack,” I ordered, and when I stared at the guy who acted as their leader, he couldn’t say no. Did I appear so scary?
“Who are you, Miss? Why do you look like that?”
“Like what?”
“Like the daughter of the Moon Goddess,” he said, and I frowned. When I glanced at Luke, he was also frowning.
“Answer him, Isabella,” Luke joined the conversation.
“Now is not the right time, Luke,” I said, and I gestured for him to just follow them as they lead us to their territory.
Then, I realized that their territory was protected by a magical barrier that concealed their presence and location. Stones with spells were scattered in a circle to the pack to create the barrier itself. It looked like it was made by a great mage, a warlock, or a witch.
"The barrier is so strong," I said to the elder and he just nodded his head in response.
As we passed the barrier, the pack was revealed. Wooden houses and werewolves were everywhere as if they expecting us to come. As I looked at them, they stared back with curiosity.
“Can we talk to the Alpha here?” Luke asked.
“We are a nameless pack, and we don’t have an Alpha here, but I am the one they considered as their leader,” he informed me.
While listening to their conversation, I was shocked that a pack could exist without an Alpha! How was that possible? "How come you don’t have an Alpha here?”
“It just happens, Miss. I couldn’t explain it but we have been here for a long time, and ever since, there was no Alpha who lead us. We directly looked up to the Moon Goddess for guidance,” he informed us.
“But why were you shocked upon seeing me earlier?” I asked out of curiosity because even the others were still staring.
“Because there was someone who looked similar to you and that was a few years ago,” he said, and I frowned.
Could it be Selene’s mother?
As he showed the area to us, several eyes were watching us, and they made me uncomfortable. I stayed closer to Luke, and when he sensed I was uncomfortable, he immediately held my hand.
“You’re scared,” he whispered.
“I am. Who wouldn’t? They’re too good to be true, and their story was outrageous. Can you believe him?” I whispered back.
“Minimize your voice, Isabella. They might hear us,” he cautioned me. “Don’t be scared. Always remember that I am here to keep you safe and I will not let anyone harm you, sweetheart.”
