Stone bricks, books, and mysterious items on the shelves. Then, as I looked at the ceiling, there were shining symbols of the zodiac and the stars. Oblivious to the presence of someone else in the room, I walked toward the center of the room.
Once again, I looked up at the ceiling. Then, Selene pulled a lever and the ceiling suddenly opened mechanically, showing the wide sky with stars and moon.

“Can you feel the energy of the moon, Isabella?” she asked and I nodded.
“Yeah, I can feel it,” I replied.
Then, she pointed to the floor where I was standing and my eyes widened in shock that I was inside a magic circle. Moons, zodiacs, and different symbols were in the circle.
“What is this, Selene?” I asked in confusion while referring to the platform where I stood.
“At one point in your life, you died, right? But you came back alive, and now, you are no longer the plain daughter of an Alpha. You are now the daughter of the Moon Goddess, and soon, you will be the most powerful among werewolves. You will be able to control everything! The stars, the moon, the ocean, everything!”
“But why? “ I asked, but all of a sudden, I was excited and terrified at the same time.

“Because you will be our savior, Isabella. With your powers, you can abolish the rank system of werewolves. Soon, everyone would be equal,” she said.
“What are you talking about?”
“No more Alpha, Beta, and Omega. Just werewolf,” she replied.
“Then who will lead the pack? We need an Alpha to avoid chaos!” I exclaimed.

“You will lead us all,” she said. “And everyone can fall in love freely without being judged or being tied to a single mate. Freedom, Isabella. Freedom to choose, and the freedom to love.”
“That’s a huge responsibility for someone like me, Selene. I mean, I can’t do it.”
“You can. I can sense your courage, and you are fearless.”
“What if I fail?" I asked with worries and fear waving at me.
"MY mother felt the same way, but she achieved more than she could imagine,” she said. “I can help you discover your potential, and practice your power,” she offered.
“I am not so sure about that, Selene. Besides, my goal right now is to avenge my broken heart,” I admitted.
“Around this time, your heart is still not broken, and the man you feared to be with despite your affection for him can be saved,” she mentioned.
“Aric can be saved? How?”
“You have to accept your gift, Isabella. Once you do, you will be able to find answers from your previous life. Anyway, the next full moon is coming soon, we have to do the ritual,” she said.
“A ritual for what?” I asked because she sounded like someone from a cult.
“To accept the moon’s blessings, but for now, let’s ask the Moon Goddess for your protection and safety. Close your eyes, my dear,” she ordered.
So, I did, and she immediately started with a chant.
“Oh mighty Goddess of the Moon, here we are asking for your protection. Your beloved daughter, Isabella, is asking for your help. Bless your daughter, Isabella, and give thy gift early on her. May you guide her body, Goddess.”
As Selene continued to speak as if the Moon Goddess was right in front of her, my body was suddenly filled with a blinding light. Then, I screamed in pain. I knelt on the floor while trying to embrace the flowing energy in my body.
I felt like my body cracked, my muscles ached, and my sharp claws suddenly showed. I couldn’t stop myself from howling and growling while absorbing the blessing or a curse, whatever it was.
And the last time I remembered, everything went dark. When I regained my conscious, I was in my wolf form and I noticed that my fur was whiter than before, and I could feel the enormous power on my body.
It felt wonderful but then I panicked when I realized that I was in a public place and Luke could be waiting for me upstairs. But how could I turn myself back into my human form when there was no full moon?
“You can do it, Isabella,” I heard Selene talking to me as if she was telling me that I could go back to my human form anytime.
But how? Sheesh, how could I do it? But then I realized that it could be possible if Selene was telling me to do it. So, I tried. And I was shocked! With less effort, I was in my human form again!
Then, Selene hurried up to cover my nudity. As if she was prepared for our meeting, she walked over to a shelf and retrieved a paper bag, and then gave it to me. When I checked, it contained a new dress.
“Thank you, Selene but I don’t know how to explain this to Luke. I mean, the dress is different from what I wore when we left home,” I told her.
“He wouldn’t notice it, Isabella. Besides, his eyes would be focused on your beauty. Check yourself in the mirror then you will understand what I am talking about.”
I strolled toward the mirror, and checked my appearance. Selene was right because the color of my eyes changed again. It was bluer than before and it seemed purple when the lights would reflect on it. Fortunately, my hair remained the same.
“You have a great gift from the Moon Goddess, and one of them is talking to the dead ones. Can you try? I want to speak with my Mom,” she requested.
“How?”
“Concentrate, and remember the photo I showed you earlier, Isabella. Talk to that person in your head,” she told me.
I did as she told me, and inside my head, I envisioned the woman that Selene showed me earlier, and suddenly, I felt the sudden rush of power going outside my body.
As I opened my eyes to check what was going on, I could see white smoke forming into a vivid image of a beautiful woman. She looked older than me, but she looked a lot like me especially the eyes and the hair.
“Mommy…,” Selene mumbled as she walked closer toward the image and that image looked at Selene with pure love in her eyes.
“Baby,” the woman said. “It’s been a long time. How are you my darling?” she asked Selene with tears in her eyes.
“I am doing good, Mommy, and I finally found her. The woman who will continue your mission,” she said.
“Excellent, my child. You did a great job, and now you have to help her all the time. Are you still willing to do it?”
Selene nodded, and then she hugged the image formed by the white smoke. “I miss you so much,” she said. “Don’t worry, I will not let you down, and I will do my best in guiding her.”
“You never disappoint me my love, you always do what is best. Always remember, I am always watching you from above, and I will always love you. Dad and Mom love you, baby.”
As I watched them being emotional with each other, I couldn’t stop myself from crying. But before I could be overwhelmed by emotions, I remembered that someone was waiting for me upstairs.
“I need to go. Luke is probably waiting for me right now,” I informed Selene.
“Yes, let’s go.”
But before totally leaving, Selene gave me a book to read, and then we went upstairs and returned to the library where Luke was meeting with someone. Then, while in the library, I couldn’t find him.
I searched for him everywhere but I couldn’t find him. If only I brought a phone then I would be able to call him, but no, I didn’t. Frantically, I ran toward the door to get outside and to check if his car was still there.
Then, I sighed with relief when I saw it in the parking lot.
“Where have you been, Isabella?”
I almost jumped up when I heard the familiar voice behind me. Then, I panicked when he grabbed my wrist. “Let me go, Aric!”
