When he said he would take me to his place, I was immediately overthinking why, but then, I ended up being shocked because he brought me to a mansion! Not only that, I believed I saw my ex-fiance, too!
“Aric Stormheart?” I asked him when I recognized the man who just arrived at his place too.
“Yes, Isabella. He is also invited. Why? Would you be uncomfortable? Don’t tell me you are still in love with him,” he teased me.

“No, I am not, however, it’s not right for us to be in the same place, Luke. Are you sure this is your place? Or did you just rent this mansion?”
“I am not poor, okay? Why do you think I become friends with the Alpha of Lancaster if I was poor?”
“Point taken, but I don’t like to be here. Just take me back home,” I asked.
“No. You should see how Aric behaves when he is with other women,” he stated.
“But I don’t want to be here! This is uncomfortable for me, Luke!”
“So, how long do you plan on avoiding him?”

“I haven’t thought about it yet, Luke.”
“Let’s go, and think too much about the situation, Isabella. I heard Aric brought a woman for the party,” he informed and I was frozen on my seat.
“Is that the reason why you also brought me here?”
“Yes.”

“How despicable of you, Luke Skywalker!”
“Don’t worry though, let’s just make him jealous later, okay?”
“But I don’t want to! I just want to go home!”
I said I wanted to go home but when I saw Aric flaunting his women to everyone, I immediately changed my mind. Then, I glanced at Luke and said, “A pool party? I didn’t bring a swimsuit, Luke.”
“I took care of it,” he said, and then he brought me to a room to change.
Luckily, Aric and the others didn’t see me entering Luke’s place, but as soon as the party started, I witnessed how Aric flirted with another woman. I thought that’s all I would witness, but then, there was another woman who was vying for Luke’s attention as well. Then, there was a sudden pang in my heart, and even though I knew it was one-sided on my part, I couldn’t stop myself from whimpering in pain.
“Are you okay?” Luke asked, but instead of telling him what made me uncomfortable, I tried to mask my pain with a fake smile.
“I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t be okay, Luke,” I lied but then secretly, I glanced at Aric who was no making with a woman in a red bikini, and I just raised an eyebrow at the show.
But then, I thought I could handle it well. However, that wasn’t the case. I couldn’t! So, I ran as fast as I could, away from the pool. I never imagined that my heart was so fragile, and everything was messed up.
Although I was physically attracted to Luke and knew that he was my current mate, I couldn’t stop thinking about my past with Aric. We were so good together, and I was happy with him. When I refused his marriage proposal to avoid being killed in the next few years, I thought it was done and I would be okay, but no, it wasn’t the case.
When I felt fine and way better, I unlocked myself from the bathroom. My eyes were tired from crying because even if I should cry, I couldn’t stop myself from bawling over.
Then, I sneaked outside, and I saw how happy they were. They were laughing and having the best moments of their lives, while I was hurting. Secretly, I glanced at Aric again and his arms were on the woman’s waist. How sweet of him!
Then, my eyes searched for Luke. When I saw him, I noticed he was drinking alcohol, and he was probably wasted like the others as well. So, instead of going back to the pool to join them, I decided to take a walk outside.
While walking outside his residence, I admired the silence of the night. I never imagined that would feel so lonely and alone. As I kept walking, I reached a park nearby and when I saw that nobody was there, I was glad.
I sat on the swing and felt the breeze caressing my face. It was so gentle and I almost fell asleep, but then I felt the sign when my wolf was about to come out. I looked up and realized that there’s no full moon in the sky. I watched my hands trembling from unknown power, and then my visions changed.
I knelt on the ground while trying to grasp for air. At the same time, I am trying to prevent the transformation. I heard from Dad that I could control it if my will was strong enough, but then I became breathless and heard an unfamiliar voice inside me. A voice that I couldn’t forget until I lost consciousness. A few moments later, I slowly opened my eyes, and as I was trying to adjust my vision, I heard distinct noises nearby.
“She is awake!” someone exclaimed.
I moved my head toward the woman who was talking, and she looked like a nurse or a medical practitioner in her white gown. Then, a doctor came in to check as well. He walked closer to me, and then he checked my eyes and my heartbeat with his stethoscope.
“You’re good to go,” he mumbled.
“What happened? Where I am?”
“I heard you fainted at the park. Someone brought you here. What happened Isabella? Why did you faint?”
When he called me by my name, I frowned to check if I knew him, and then my eyes widened at the realization that he was a friend of my Dad. He gave me a reassuring smile.
“What happened to me, Doc? Why did I feel like I was about to transform?”
“I couldn’t explain it well, sweetheart, but then, your Dad had always suspected that you are one of the legendary wolves. You should talk to him about it, Isabella because it’s dangerous. Sooner or later, your wolf will gain your soul, and you will be as powerful as the Moon Goddess.”
“It shouldn’t happen! It’s illegal to have that power!” I exclaimed.
“Well, no one had reached that potential yet, and until now, these are just rumors. Nevertheless, you should be careful, alright? I heard that your Dad got you a bodyguard.”
“Yeah, he said there’s danger lurking nearby,” I answered.
“Or the danger is within you, Isabella. By the way, have you found your new mate? I also heard you rejected the marriage proposal from the Alpha of Lancaster,” he mentioned.
When he asked me about my new mate, I averted my eyes and tried to hold back the tears forming inside my eyes but suddenly, everything that happened flew like a river in my mind.
“Yes, but he is not aware of it, Doc. He wouldn’t feel the same pain I am going through right now,” I said and he expressed a deep sigh.
“Well, everything has a reason, but don’t worry because he will be aware of it very soon.”
“I hope so,” I mumbled.
Afterward, the doctor gave me a box of pills, and he said it was a suppressant against a werewolf in heat. It would be a great help whenever I would feel uncomfortable heat, pain, or even carnal desire. The pills contained a strong dosage that would suppress my pheromones.
When I got out of the hospital room, I saw Luke, and he was so worried. As soon as he saw me, he ran to hug me, and I was slightly embarrassed because there were a lot of people watching us.
“You are really killing me, Isabella!”
