After we cleared things up, Daniel dismantled the bedroom setup and we officially moved in together — partly because of him, and partly because the place was closer to the office and had a company car pickup, which meant I could sleep an extra half hour.
Two equally valid reasons.
Yes, I went back to work.

Aside from being employed, the best part was the little moments of slacking off at work.
I had imagined pulling Daniel onstage to announce our relationship, but Caleb had already spread the news around after seeing us together, and by the time I returned to the office the rumor mill had started.
My coworkers teased me mercilessly — they assumed we'd been sneaking around, whereas in reality much of our time had been spent secretly pining.
At lunchtime, Daniel came to pull me out of the tea room and the questions; we were stickier than ever.
Now that I'd introduced him to family, friends and coworkers, his jealousy eased a little.
When I told my best friend, Maya, our whole saga, she insisted on me teaching a class about how we met; she was thrilled.

One afternoon, after finishing a campaign, I called her to reminisce.
"It all started seven years ago, on the day you were kept behind…."
I said. Maya squealed, "My tears, is this the seed of your love?"
Daniel wrapped his arms around me while I spoke and said into the phone, playful and grateful, "To thank you for setting this up, I'll give you a gemstone."

Maya laughed and squealed in earnest congratulations.
Daniel and I exchanged smiles.
