Daniel fussed over me at breakfast, insisting on feeding me, and I went along with it to keep him happy.
He seemed content; although his expression didn't change much, light creases at the corners of his eyes betrayed a small, private joy.
I felt a little pleased with myself.

"By the way, Mr. Vale — there's a concert in a week by my favourite singer. I'd like to go for just one day." Surely he'd agree.
His answer was immediate and flat: "No."
"Wait — what? I already love you."
I'd said those words several times already, but Daniel seemed to ignore them.
He didn't believe me. So I decided to prove it to him.
I grabbed the lapel of his suit and, in front of his surprised face, kissed him.

Daniel didn't expect me to be so forward.
His pupils widened. Contrary to his cold persona, his lips were soft.
I couldn't help the urge to taste him. At that moment he froze.
After I kissed him, a flush spread from his ear to his cheek — his reaction was intense.

It looked like a first kiss. Oddly enough, so did mine.
What to do next? I didn't even have my phone, so I couldn't check anything.
As I tried to think, I suddenly let go of his collar and fell aside, clutching my stomach. "Ugh—"
What the hell? At the same time I heard Daniel's surprised voice: "You hate me that much?"
