The men in black suits behind Jack Thorne twitched at the corners of their mouths

when they heard my words.

I also felt like my brain had short-circuited.

Jack Thorne pulled out a dagger from the bag. "And this?"

I blinked, having a third flash of inspiration, "Have you heard of a new play style, Mr. Thorne?"

Jack Thorne looked at me with interest.

"It's...it's about making small cuts on your partner's exposed back, chest, or butt, when you're excited."

Diana, are you a pervert? Listen to what you're saying! I timidly looked up at Jack Thorne, "It's that whole pain-pleasure thing, you know? Some people are into that."

I laughed awkwardly.

"And this?" he asked.

I froze, seeing Jack Thorne's long fingers holding a gun.

I was dumbfounded: Christ! What else was in that bag?!

"I was just afraid you wouldn't cooperatet! Thought I might need some...persuasion!" I blurted out.

Good, fourth flash of inspiration.

"Persuasion." Jack walked up to me, crouched down, pointed the gun at my forehead, then slowly moved it down to my chest, using it to pop open the buttons of my blouse, "Like this?"

I swallowed hard, instinctively nodded, then realized my mistake and quickly shook my head, "No no no, no no no!"

Jack Thorne's playful expression vanished, replaced by cold steel, "What's your name?"

"D-Diana Evans."

"Miss Evans, do you think I'm a fool?"

I shook my head, hurriedly saying, "Mr. Thorne! Every word is true! Please believe me!"

Jack Thorne lowered the gun and stood up, "Since you're unwilling to tell the truth, let's see how you handle what comes next. Good luck, Miss Evans."

As Jack Thorne turned to leave, I desperately fell at his feet with a "thud." If my hands hadn't been chained, I would have grabbed his leg: "I'll talk! I'll talk!"

Jack Thorne stopped.

I looked up at him pitifully: "If I tell the truth, will you let me go?"

Jack Thorne nodded.

I took a deep breath and had no choice but to reveal my plan for worldwide fame.

To my surprise, he became even angrier after hearing it. He grabbed my throat and pinned me to the ground.

The pain was immediately overwhelmed by the sensation of suffocation.

Jack Thorne said through gritted teeth: "Do you think I have all day for this bullshit?"

I struggled desperately, tears streaming down my face. I tried to defend myself between gasps: "Cough, cough, I—I'm telling the truth—"

As darkness crept in from the edges of my vision, I suddenly thought of my mother.

Just as my life was about to flash before my eyes, Jack Thorne released his grip.

I survived the ordeal, curling up on the ground and gulping down air.

Jack Thorne completely changed his demeanor, saying playfully: "Since you're Miss Killer, I'll give you a chance."

I struggled to get up, sweating profusely as I stared at Jack Thorne, "W-what chance?"

"There's a Blanchett Group mole within the Thorn Group. To catch the mole, we deliberately used confidential documents as bait. The mole was supposed to appear that day, but you disrupted everything. Since you caused the plan to fail, you'll be the one to kill that mole."

Jack Thorne stood up again, slightly rotating the expensive watch on his wrist: "You have three days."

"Three days!" I exclaimed, "Isn't that too short?"

"Two days."

"Three days! Three days is totally fine!"

"Very well. If you fail, your death awaits in three days. Good luck, Miss Evans."
