'How is she feeling?" I asked once madam Kimmy sat. She placed the tray of food on the table.


'She's asleep for now. I think it will last till night."

I glanced at Jean's room, worried. 'Is that normal? Leaving her to sleep through out the day like this?"

Her gaze softened, 'Jean has an easy heat. It sends her into deep slumbers and the pain level fluctuates. The long sleep helps when the pain is at the maximum. When she finds her mate, the pain will reduce a lot but I doubt the sleeping part will go away."


'Oh."

I have never experienced heat before because of the link with my wolf. Sometimes I wonder if I'm actually an omega. That's what father said but I don't have their attributes neither do I have the attributes of any other type of wolf.


I sighed.

'Eat up. I know you haven't had anything today."

'Thank you…Madam Kimmy?"

'Yes darling" she replied. 'Sugar?"

'Yes, three cubes. Madam Kimmy, do you think I can have children?"

She paused her tea making and gave me her full attention.

'Of course. Why would you think you can't?"

'It's just I don't know what my secondary gender is and my link with my wolf isn't good. Won't those things affect my fertility rate?"

I looked down. Recently, these thoughts have been on my mind. I couldn't identify my mate so I decided to settle for someone I love and trust. Someone that won't betray or hurt me intentionally.

But, what if I can't have kids for them?

'Leila, look at me." She reached out and grabbed my hand. I blinked to keep my tears from falling.

'Our secondary genders are exactly that when it comes to fertility. Secondary. Do beta females have a harder time getting pregnant than omegas? Yes. But, the important thing is how healthy your reproductive organs are."

She traced my fingers with her own, 'if the person you end up with is not a strong wolf and your link with your wolf doesn't get stronger then, one or more of your children will at least be humans with werewolf abilities."

'Do you want me to do a fertility test on you? It will put your mind to rest."

I nodded, 'Thank you. This whole mating stuff has been on my mind lately."

A mischievous glint entered her eyes.

'Yeah? Anyone in mind?"

She placed a cup of tea in my front. I smiled in thanks.

'Maybe?" I could feel the blush on my face. Ignoring it, I sipped my tea.

'Good. Then your v-region would start seeing some use."

I chocked. I glared at the laughing madam Kimmy as I coughed.

'Will it be safe for the others to come into the house?" I asked.

It was afternoon already. Xander should be done with the meeting by now.

'Why not?"

'Won't Jean's scent affect them?"

We were preparing lunch. Madam Kimmy couldn't do a big meal like the last one. I agreed. That shit is stressful as fuck.

She decided to do lunch for most of us. The food would go round if some people drop by but it won't be enough if everyone gathered.

'No, no. I burnt some things to block the scent. Besides, this isn't the first time that people gathered in the house during her heat."

The door opened and I looked out from the kitchen.

'The new Alpha is here!!" Grey announced as he strolled in.

I smiled. Xander was successful.

'Must you be so loud?" asked Damien who was behind him.

'How else do you make announcements?" replied Grey as he pulled out a seat.

Liam just shook his head, smiling at Grey's behavior. My eyes met Xander's as he walked in.

He looked amused. He smiled at me.

'Stop drolling and come and help me carry these things out" said madam Kimmy. I blushed and retreated to the kitchen.

These days, I feel like madam Kimmy has been teasing me too much. I liked the fact that she was comfortable with me even though she takes pleasure in seeing me flustered.

'Please sit here Alpha" I heard Grey say.

'Take this one." She pointed at a tray full of chicken. 'I'll carry the side dishes."

'Alright."

'Alpha Xander looks happier these days. It is a good thing right?"

'Yes" I replied with a smile.

Xander smiled more here than in our former pack. I liked it. I'm happy that he has gained more people that he can trust.

'Lunch is here."

Grey got up and took the tray from me.

'Thank you for cooking Luna, but you should ask us to carry it for you next time."

'Alright."

Luna. My eyes met Xander's. I wanted it so bad.

Most nights, I stay awake wondering what would happen if I made a move on him. If I shift and manipulate his hand to land on my breast when he hugs my waist. Filled with guilt, I would go to sleep.

'Congratulations" I said. I sat beside him, something that has become a habit.

'Thank you. Did you rest up?"

I chuckled as madam Kimmy sighed. Grey also took the tray from her.

'We were busy." I looked around, the guys were talking amongst themselves. Damien was helping Grey share.

'Where is Hera?"

'She went on a little errand for me."

'Okay." I took Xander's plate and began placing food on it. 'How did the elders take it?"

'Nine out of twelve voted in my favor. The rest aren't too sure about me."

'They will come around."

Xander had told me his plan to keep the elders around and let them serve as a support system.

'Madam Kimmy, I would like to hear what you think about the elders later."

'Alright Alpha."

‘Do it…the only thing that can go wrong is you getting rejected' Lea urged.

I couldn't keep the thoughts of having Xander out of my mind. The thoughts have plagued me since lunch and hearing him bathe wasn't helping.

‘I won't survive a rejection from him. Our relationship will change, I can't loose that.'

‘Won't it be better knowing that you tried everything and it didn't work out between you two than wondering what it would have been like when someone else has his attention?'

She was right.

‘I don't understand why you're pushing this.'

Xander walked out with his usual towel around his waist.

I couldn't stop myself. I walked up to him.

'Leila what's wrong?"

Fuck it. I went on my tiptoes and pressed my lips on his.

Xander growled, held my head in place and kissed me properly.

‘Mate…'
