Today was the meeting with the elders. They were eager to hear what I had to say so it was scheduled early.


'Good morning Alpha" Grey greeted as he stopped beside me.

'Good morning. You had a good night?"

'Yes Alpha."


We continued walking. Leila was with madam Kimmy and her daughter, they wanted to relax for a bit.

After the Amelia incident, Liam quickly put some people on patrol duty but Grey and Damien were still consistent.


'Have you found a good spot?"

'Yeah. You can come see it later. It's separate from the houses but not secluded so security can be look lax while it's really tight. Escaping will be difficult because anyone can see what's going on."

I nodded. We finally found a spot to build a prison.

'Alright, I'll see you soon Grey."

'Are you sure you don't want any of us with you Alpha?"

'Yes. Everyone should rest today, I have a feeling that there will be no time for that soon."

'Alright."

'Tell Hera I need to see her after this."

'Okay Alpha. The next time I see you, this pack will be legally yours yeah?"

I nodded. Grey smiled and left.

'Alpha Xander."

The elders were already seated. They are twelve in number. Madam Kimmy's husband Luke was their head based on age.

They sat in a semicircle with elder Luke in the middle.

'Take a seat."

I nodded and sat in front of them. This position was intentional. If they were to question an offender, just closing him in like this will add pressure and may make him break.

It's very smart.

'Thank you for hearing me out."

'Alright, please go straight to the point."

'As you all know, elder Luke and his family rescued me from the verge of death and nursed me back to life. The man who taught he killed me has taken my pack and he is still scheming to get his hands on Leila's powers. Now, because I'm here and Leila is also with me, I have reasons to believe that he'll attack your village. That being said, I love how nice your village is and as much as you may not want it, it won't be protected forever."

'I want to be the Alpha of this pack. I respect the elders and admire your sense of judgement so I'll like to have your support."

Elder Luke nodded, 'Anyone has anything to say?"

A woman with black hair sprinkled with white that cupped her cheeks and laugh lines around her eyes spoke up.

'You can call me Rosita hon. I have concerns. I'm sorry for all your lose but it sounds like you're just dragging us into a fight that is not our concern."

Some of them nodded.

'I understand what you mean but I didn't set out to recruit your youths. I actually just wanted to teach them how to defend themselves. They are the ones who recruited themselves to become my men. I have grown fond of them so I respected their wish."

'Can't you just leave?" another one asked.

'No. Antonio is already aware or will soon be aware of your hidden village. I can't leave you to fight him because you will not succeed."

'I say we let him. I've observed the way he interacts with the people and how he discusses not dictates. Besides, it will be a new experience for us."

I nodded at the chubby man seating beside elder Luke.

'What guarantee do we have that your mate won't harm us. I know her powers aren't in control."

Everyone assumed that Leila and I had done the mating ceremony because of how we lived. I didn't bother correcting them after I saw Leila accept it.

Besides, they weren't far from the truth.

'Hera is her mentor and she's also an old volana wolf. Leila's control has gotten a lot better, I'm sure you are also aware of it."

'How much do you know about the volana wolf? How much do you trust her?"

‘This one has a nasty attitude' Hala commented looking at the woman that had been looking down at me since I entered.

She must have been beautiful and vain in her younger years because she had an air of pride and haughtiness.

'She saved my life, that's enough trust for me given the history werewolves have with volanas. If she had any ill intentions towards the village, she would have acted on it long ago."

'Given how much time she has, I don't see why she can't wait."

'I don't see why she has to. Your village is used to being protected from the world and before we came along, your defense was very poor. There's nothing stopping her from doing what she wants."

The woman narrowed her eyes but stayed silent.

'Anymore comments or question?" Elder Luke asked.

There was no response.

'Alright, if you are in favor of allowing Xander to become our Alpha raise your hands."

Nine hands went up. The snobby woman wasn't part of it.

‘Congratulations' said Hala.

'Congratulations Alpha Xander" elder Luke said as they clapped.

'Thank you. I look forward to knowing you all better and working with you."

'We look forward to your leadership."

I got up and they bowed as tradition demands.

'Alpha!" they chorused.

I nodded and left. They needed to talk amongst themselves.

'Congratulations" Hera said. She stood outside the house.

'Thank you. I need a favor."

'I think we're past that stage, you're Alpha now."

I chuckled, 'alright, I need you to go see what Antonio is up to. Gather as much information as you can. I have a bad feeling."

'Alright. I'll be fast."

'Don't forget to tell Liam where you are going."

Hera paused and stared at me.

'What?"

She shook her head, 'I'm not even going to ask how you knew."

"Leila l think you are something else , gush... l never imagined or saw this part of you."

"You seem as though you can read minds."

I laughed and gave her a hug .
