Sonia narrowed her eyes and gently dropped her cutleries.


'What?"

She looked composed but her white knuckles and the tiny furrow in between her brows betrayed her.

Peru smirked, we both shared a sick pleasure of watching our mate in pain. Having similar likes with my wolf made it easier for me to carry out things I planned.


'Don't tell me age has made your hearing poor?"

'What did you do Antonio?"


Her wolf finally surfaced. I could feel her stare at me through Sonia's eyes.

Good.

‘You're supposed to be resting and planning' Peru said.

I scoffed, ‘like you aren't enjoying yourself?'

Peru snickered.

'Why would I kill my only child? What would it profit me?"

'Exactly. Did you think I didn't know you only wanted her because of her dormant powers?"

Oh?

'Really? Then why did you let me?"

'I'm the one who gave birth to her and I'm your mate. It's not that difficult to know what you're both thinking, it's almost disgusting how alike you both are."

Hypocrites.

Melanie made a small noise. She quickly let out a small cough.

'Excuse me."

Sonia glared at her but said nothing.

'So? Did you take her powers and kill her?"

'Sadly, no I didn't."

I ignored the annoyance that filled my heart at the thought.

'Not only did you manipulate your daughter, you let her kill the man that was a real father to her and also die at the end of everything without gaining what you needed? That's what you're saying right?"

I clenched my teeth.

'What's your point?"

'I don't see the need in pointing it out. Who did it?"

'I'm going to find out soon."

'Kill them."

'You're taking this surprisingly well."

'Crying won't bring back the dead…" she began to gather her things, '... just make sure you kill the mother fucker."

I grinned. Sonia was really pissed, her ability to suppress her emotions had gotten better.

'I'm impressed. I wonder what your pack will say if they knew how you really are. I bet you told them your mate was an abusive bastard."

She smiled, 'The stories were horrible. You know that it's not good for a lady's image if she's too scheming."

'Is that a fancy way of saying you're a hypocrite?"

Sonia smiled and got up.

'Where are you going?"

'I can't stay Antonio. I have things to do in your pack that you've abandoned and you don't need me around."

'I feel like you're in a rush, you're already looking for mate number three?"

'You sound jealous. Don't worry I won't forget you. You're my first mate and the one that made me realize I could have more than one mate."

Lovely memories.

'I'm honored but I didn't ask you to leave."

Sonia smirked and walked to the door.

'The poison in your system will start affecting your body in a few hours."

I froze. How could I have forgotten how dangerous she was? Melanie paled

'Don't worry dear, I didn't put it in yours. But if you did eat from his food then you should be worried because I have only one antidote. I'll hand it over to the guard at the gate."

'If you don't?" asked Melanie.

'Antonio knows I'm a woman of my word. The antidote will expire in a few hours so I'll see myself out."

I watched her leave, annoyed and amused.

'Why didn't you take it from her by force my Lord?"

'She'll just destroy it in spite."

Luckily for Melanie, she hadn't eaten anything.

Ganymede had gathered a total of six sorcerers. Two were specialized in modern mental magic.

'Before we leave, create a mind link between all of us going. Try to see if you can put walls or traps in place that can keep the old sorcerer out" I commanded.

'Yes my Lord."

I gathered most of my men. We'll leave in two days. There were still unknowns but this was the only lead we had. Delaying would not benefit me.

I also needed to tie lose ends.

'I need three people to go to Black Pool Pack. Tell everyone including the guards that I'm putting Sonia Romanov in charge of the pack in my absence. Every guard should help her."

'Yes my Lord" Lucian replied and immediately picked three soldiers for the task.

'Lucian step forward."

The door opened and his father was carried in. They dropped him on his knees before me.

Lucian stood beside his father. His face void of emotions as usual.

'Kneel."

He knelt beside the old man and gripped his hand.

'It's unfortunate. I can't let you live because of unexplainable reasons and I don't have any use of you anymore. You've done your duties perfectly which is surprising and deserving of praises but, because of that reason, I'll let your father die with you."

His father too weak only bowed his head. There was no need to fight, it was inevitable.

'Thank you my Lord."

I stared at Lucian's face, stoic till the end huh?

'Old man, your son is by your side so cheer up."

I signaled the guards. They took their place behind them.

This move was also to set an example for everyone. To keep them in check and remind them how menacing I am.

They bowed their heads still holding hands. With a nod, their heads left their body.

‘Clear this mess."

They carried the bodies out and maids came in to clean the floor.

'Lucian's second in command come forth."

A normal looking talk guy came forward. There was nothing spectacular about his looks, it was only his height that called attention.

'From now on, you are my general. Take care of the men under you and take your responsibilities seriously. I'm not very forgiving so avoid mistakes as much as you can."

'Thank you my Lord."

'Don't fail me Sebastian." He nodded, 'good. You can go back in. I need everyone alert for this so try to get enough rest in these two days."
