There was no way out. I was trapped.


I've never felt so much fear in my life. Not even when Leila set me on fire. This time there was no one to beg for me.

The magnitude of their gaze made breathing difficult. I looked around in a growing panic.

There had to be a way out…somewhere…there was no way I would come out of this alive…

Maybe I should beg or try and connect to her soft side?

I jerked back in surprise but I couldn't move too far.

I watched in fear as the band of vines on my wrists and ankles grew thicker, holding me in place.

'There. That feels safe and secure."

Oh goddess…had I killed her ability to feel empathy?

I glared at her. That smug smile on her face will be wiped off once dad gets here.

'Let's build a space to house offenders" the annoying one said.

I ignored their irrelevant talk and focused on my mind link with Dad.

‘Dad!! I found them!!'

Attacking them like this was a mistake but bringing out Leila and Xander was pure stupidity on their part.

No answer.

I was uncomfortable with the strong feeling of lose but I ignored it. This was not the time to understand mood swings.

'Amelia…" my wolf called.

Like all the creatures were hiding in fear of what was about to happen.

The vines binding me was beginning to hurt and itch. It was scary because I wasn't supposed to feel pain from being tied up, given that I had a fast healing rate.

There was also a new comer.

'Volana…" I whispered. My fear showing in the quiver of my voice.

I'm sure my scent also showed my fear.

'Priestess, ever polite" the annoying one said.

I ignored them and focused on the man that looked so much like Leila.

What was I trying to achieve? I don't know, but I realized the fact that I'm trying to prolong my death. And I'll use any means to accomplish it, even if it means talking with this asshole.

'I don't recognize you as a sister." His tone was dismissive.

'Is that why you killed him and made your mother a widow and prisoner in her mate's pack?"

He laughed while Leila just shook her head.

The fear returned with a vengeance. My wrists and ankles were beginning to itch and burn.

'What is this?" I asked trying to tug my hands free or at least generate friction on the itch.

I glared at her and turned to Xander.

'Why her? I'm better than her in every way that counts, I can give you everything you desire from a partner, so why? Why choose her over me? Even my bloody mate chose her over me, I don't fucking get it!! Why?!"

'Simple," the annoying one replied, dragging out his sword, 'you're a bitch and she's not."

He ignored me and came closer.
