The lady refused to answer me, but instead poised a question at me. 'What are you doing here?"


'Ma'am, I'd appreciate it if you answer my questions first. What's the Alpha doing here, did you take him captive or something? You have to explain to me, is that why you refused me entry at first?"

'Young lad, please leave this room, he had a hard time falling asleep due to the poison in his blood."

'What poison? He was fit before he left to rescue Leila!" so l heard since I was at Alpha Lucian's pack. I unsheathed my sword and walked towards her pointing it at her. I could see the tears in her eyes but I wasn't bothered, I needed her to talk.


'Put down your sword, Liam!" I heard a deep voice turning to face where it came from, I saw the Alpha awake sitting up. His back to the wall, I hurriedly rushed to his side.

'Alpha! You're awake, why are you here? Did they kidnap you? You need to say something what happened." I asked not letting him breathe, I needed him to assure me they did t take him captive.


'I can't remember exactly what happened because I've been struggling with being conscious due to the poison, but what I can tell you right now is that they didn't kidnap me. I remember fainting in front of their cottage, they are nice people."

I heaved a sigh of relief after he spoke, 'but then who could have poisoned you?"

'No, not that I was poisoned knowingly. It was from an arrow that was shot at me,during my first attempt to run away with Leila."

'It had to be Antonio, nobody else in that pack would yield powers to poison arrows if it's not him. What do we do this time? I happened to see Leila before I was showed the way out."

Xander looked at, marveled. 'You mean to tell me that you navigated your way around that castle yourself without being cut by the guards or at most Antonio? You've got great luck then, if that's the case."

'It's not purely luck, Alpha. I was shocked when someone helped me, at first I thought he was leading me to another trap but luckily for me it was the opposite."

'Who was that man, Liam?"

'It's Damien, Alpha. He was the one who helped me out of the castle and also showed me the easiest routes to go out of the castle."

I looked around not noticing that the lady had left, when did she leave. I didn't even hear any sound from the door, I looked at the Alpha and asked.

'But Alpha, how did they know who you were? Her daughter told me it's cause of a mark on your wrist, but then it's only our pack members that can recognize that mark right?"

'Well, that's because I am from your pack. My dear curious Liam! I have always been, I just moved away from the main pack land for some peace and quiet. Who'd have known I'd meet our capable Alpha here?" She came in again, this time unnoticed like the time she left.

'Madam Kimmy, you flatter me again. I really thank you for taking me in at that crucial time and for you to accept to treat me till I recovered. As for my unusual man here, you'd have to forgive him. When a man panics too much, he tends to forget things and blames everyone around him. Suspicions become stronger."

'How are you feeling? Do you feel a little bit stronger or you're much more weak?" Madam Kimmy asked Xander walking towards him. She felt his body and eyes.

'You're okay for now, the poison hasn't fully left your body yet! You have to be careful, I've been able to curb the poison from spreading and removed a higher portion of it following Hera's instructions.

'Thank you ma'am, I really appreciate your kindness for taking care of my Alpha…" I said to her bowing.

'It's nothing much, I must say. He's the Alpha, the pack can't be run without him. And you sire, you are supposed to be having your bath and eating a meal. That was what you asked me for!"

'I-i'm no I mean I j-just wanted to check if maybe he was here since your daughter brought it up already."

She scoffed, 'I take it that you don't understand the word, discreet."

Xander chuckled, she bowed her head to him and left. Immediately she left, I stood up and quickly hurried to lock the door. I didn't want anyone to eavesdrop on our conversations , I made the Alpha cast a spell.

'Alpha, I figure out something as I was coming here. Not before Leila was kidnapped, before I got to the castle. I overheard the discussion between two guards in the castle, it seemed like someone was watching me . Like the person wanted to know where I was headed."

'Fuck! Then we've gotta start leaving, knowing who Antonio is. He would want to attack when my guard is off, and I wasn't going to let him get me just like that."

'But how about, Leila? What do you plan to do regarding her, are you just going to leave her hanging?" I asked walking to him.

He drew me closer, 'One thing you should know is that I'll never ever leave her hanging, I already have my plan but we need to leave here first."

'What did you overhear from the guards? I'd like to know but not now, first go get showered. Did you fall into a fish pond coming here, you've been killing me with that stench for hours now!"

I laughed, he looked at me and burst into laughter.

'You think you've got humor just cause you sick? Man! I'll let that pass, because why? You're sick, we could have a one versus one right now.

'Let's do that after you've showered."

A knock on the door, madam Kimmy came in. 'Sorry to get in your bros love, you've got a visitor. I shouldn't have let you in, Liam."
