**ANTONIO**
"So she really bought the fact that we were only trying our best to bring her back? Wow, Amelia you really saved the situation." I stated giving Amelia a thumbs up as the rays of the moon casted its shadow upon us in its glory.
Sitting on the swing by the garden, I wondered what would have happened if Amelia didn't bring in her wits and changed Leila's thought not to even think that she hypnotized us.
"Like, I stood in awe of how you quickly made all that up and spun a very Clever tale, diverting Leila's attention from her own power-induced hypnotism. Your quick thinking and sharp wit saved us all from a potentially disastrous confrontation." I said and drank from the glass of wine that was in my hand before staring around and back at the moon again.
Something about the moon made me relax and hope for a future as bright as that of the moon. A future where Leila's power was now mine and I was reigning in my glory.
"I had always known always known she was clever, but this was something else entirely." Damien concurred beaming with smiles and my glance just lingered on him for a while before I broke the eye contact.
He's a useful asset after all.
'Amelia," I said, grabbing her arm gently, 'you were brilliant! I don't know how you managed to save us from Leila's thought going in the track that we don't want it to but that was clever and I'm so grateful you did." I said shooting her a bright smile which she returned with a mild and warm one.
"So I guess you wouldn't mind when I bring my opinions in some matters right? Like yesterday, when I said that we were making rash arrangements. We were not able to get Alpha Xander due to that." She stated, her face turning hard and rigid and I just nodded with the smile lingering at both corner's of my lips.
I couldn't tell her that I might as well discard her opinion yet again if I feel it didn't worth it but then, that's not something that I would tell her now.
"Amelia, you're a treasure. I'm lucky to have you by my side," Damien suddenly spoke up looking into her eyes with admiration and I had to cough to let the two love birds know that another person was still.in their midst before they jump on each other but I guess, that didn't do any good.
She smiled, her cheeks flushing ever so slightly.
"It was just a quick bit of improvisation. I'm glad it worked, though. It wouldn't do us good for Leila to realize what she'd done while she's still getting used to her powers and especially since it concerns Alpha Xander. I'm only grateful that we remembered the rubbish we were spouting alongside her when we were hypnotized. We aren't supposed to remember." Amelia reiterated then looked at me slowly like she was just figuring it out.
"We're not supposed to remember, are we? So why do we remember?" She asked staring at both I and Damien.
"Wait, that's true. How did we remember?" Damien asked and they looked at me expectantly.
Dang it! When you're dealing with kids, you must accept to give them the lamest answers.
"Well, we are one of the strong breeds of werewolf so I'm guessing our wolf had a hand in making us remember." Amelia said and I smiled briefly, smiling at them trying to pass the message that they were stupid.
"I think that our wolves snapped us out of the daze." Damien stated with a Joyous expression on his face as he beamed with smiles.
"Shut up please.the both of you are sounding like you are Young pups, how can you not know what made us get out of the hypnotization?" I asked with a puzzled expression on my face as I glared at the both of them. Sighing, I shrugged my shoulders and released a deep breath that I didn't quite realize I had been holding all these while as I gazed deeply at their expectant faces. They looked just like kids that needed something from their dad..
"We could only remember because her powers were not yet enhanced and deep rooted enough to knot inside of our brains to shut out both our wolfs, our brain and the world around us." I explained and their mouth fell open.
"Wow, so what would happen in the future if she attains such heights?" Amelia asked the most obvious question that I expected to hear from her and I smiled.
"Before that would happen, I would be in possession of the power." I said nodding reassuringly and they breathe a breath of relief and the joyous mood came back on.
Leila was still none the wiser, blissfully unaware of the brush with disaster we'd just avoided.
Just as the moment seemed to stretch into eternity, a gasp interrupted our reverie.
Leila stood before us, her eyes wide with shock and for a moment I thought that she had overheard some of our conversation and my heart dropped into the pit of my belly.
It was until I trailed her line of sight that I realized that she was staring at Amelia and Damien who were entangled in each others passion, kissing each other slowly and passionately and I wondered when they had began that ordeal. I was standing here and I didn't even know when they started this chivalry.
My heart dropped to my feet. I knew this would complicate things.
Amelia shot me a worried glance, then turned to Leila. "I'm sorry, Leila. We didn't mean to make you loose your self esteem and whatever. You should already know that Damien was mine to begin with from the onset."
"Of course, I know. But for the sanity of every other person, when you want to munch on each other; try your best to get a room." She said and grabbed Amelia's glass of wine, gulping it down in one go.
Something was amiss and off.
