***Leila POV****

I screamed for help, my lungs burning from exhaustion, coupled with the fact that I had not eaten anything for days now. As Damien leaned closer to kiss my neck, the knock from the door echoed through the entire cell, a large muscular arm pulling him from behind, slamming him into the wall.

'I leave you for one second and this is what you do!!" Antonio growled at Damien, his voice dripping with venom.

'I am sorry Alpha, it was a mistake… I'm sorry" Damien stammered, as he quivered in fear. 'No one has the right to lay hands on her, except I say so!!" he barked, his voice commanding such great authority, that I felt the hairs on my body standing on their end.

'Are you okay, can you walk?" Antonio asked, his voice laced with deep concern as he made eye contact. For a second I felt a wave of relief wash over me, but I was in so much pain that I had no time to pretend or act tough. When he saw that I couldn't move, he leaned closer and unbuckled the silver chains from my wrist and my ankles. It's held on me stung like hell.

'Oh, my dear, I'm so sorry you had to go through all of this, it's truly my fault" he beamed a smile at me as he carried me out of the cell to only God knows where. I was shocked at his abrupt display of affection towards me. But I followed him quietly without making a fuss, I was too weak to speak or even think straight. I don't know at which point I passed out, but the next time I opened my eyes, it was in a dimly lit room.

My initial reaction was to struggle. I however found out that there was no need to struggle, I was not in chains anymore. I was in a soft bed that felt like clouds.

I was also in silk sleepwear and my legs were neatly bandaged. My hair was brushed and well arranged. I stared in confusion at the new environment I had found myself in.

'Hello," My voice had gone hoarse, I gently slid down from the bed. I heard the door open and I jumped up in fright. I held up a pillow in a feeble attempt to defend myself.

As the figure approached me, light flooded the room, I blinked rapidly, trying to adjust to the sudden brightness as he turned on the light switch.

'You're up" Antonio walked him, as he gazed curiously at me. He looked at the pillow in my hands and chuckled.

'What were you going to do with that?"

'Whack someone to death maybe" I replied. His chuckle grew into fully-blown laughter.

'You're funny, just like your mother" He sighed for a split second and continued. 'You must be hungry, Here I brought you food." That was when I noticed the tray in his hands. 'Thank you, I feel better," I said, taking the tray from his hand. My stomach growled as I quickly munched on the food that was set before me and he watched me in amusement.

'Slow down, the food isn't going anywhere you know." he smiled. I raised a brow at him but slowed down anyway.

'Where am I?" I asked after I had my fill of the food.

'Silver quin pack, and I'm the Alpha"

He purred, his voice low yet intense.

"And you are not just any ordinary wolf Leila. You carry something within you, something very powerful." I felt a chill run down my spine as his words sank in.

What could he possibly mean by that? Before I could ask, He continued, with a tone.

"There are others out there who would kill to get their hands on what you possess." That's why I brought you here, to keep you safe. I apologize for the way my warriors handled you.

Now you have a choice to make. "Will you stay and embrace your destiny, or will you run and risk falling into the wrong hands?" His words hung heavy in the air, as I realized that my life would never be the same again.

A tsunami of conflicting feelings swept over me. I realized at that very moment that I had to make a decision. But I had a question that was bothering me. I had to understand its meaning. I attempted to understand what he was saying as I fixed my intense focus on Him.

"What do you mean, by possessing something powerful?" With a lump in my throat and a tiny tremor in my voice, I managed to ask.

Antonio's countenance darkened as he stared into my eyes. "Your soul has a mark that indicates you are more than just a mortal wolf. You have the power to alter how our lives as Wolves unfold."

I took a deep breath, and my thoughts began to swirl with many questions. "Why me, why is everything happening now" I muttered to myself. Antonio grinned as he made this observation. 'But now that you're here, you need to decide what to do. Remain and reach your full potential, or run away and risk becoming prey to those who want to use your influence for their ends and murder you later."

"I'll stay," I answered, maintaining a steady tone despite my internal conflict. "But first I need to understand more about what's going on, about what this mark means and why it's so important." a sea of conflicting emotions coursing through me.

With a flicker of relief creased across his face, Antonio nodded in affirmation. "Very well then. I'll begin by educating you about your lineage, the background of our species, and what it means to be a member of the Silver Quin pack."I had no idea that the real threat wasn't just outside.

For some reason beyond my comprehension, my wolf kept howling in defiance within me. Alerting me of an impending danger.
