Jane's POV

'Yes. What time is the program slated for?" I asked in a soft voice.

'10:00 AM. Thank you so much for your response. We would be looking forward to hearing from you." After her words, she hung up the call.

With a sigh, I checked the time and I realized it was 11:00 AM already. ‘I have a meeting with Mr Francis at our meet point.' Quickly, I got on my feet and left my office. Getting to my car, my driver drove me to the restaurant.

I stepped down from the car to behold the restaurant's beautiful structure before me. I breathe in the fresh air. ‘Let me confirm if he is in there.' I brought out my phone and I placed a call across to him.

It rang for a few seconds before he picked up. 'Hello, Miss Jane. Are you at the restaurant?" He asked promptly.

'Yes. Where are you?" I directed the question to him.

'I am inside the restaurant. And I can't see you." He echoed. His voice tensioned with concern.

'Okay. I am outside. I will walk in now." I replied to him.

'Okay."

After his response, I ended the call and I walked into the restaurant elegantly. I glared around the environment just to find where he was seated. And there he was…

I walked up to him and sat down.

'You look very pretty. It's nice meeting you." He spoke with a thick voice. His face rendered a smile.

I refused to be flattered. 'What do you want to discuss? You requested a meeting and I am here. Can we go into what we are here for? We don't have all day." I was kinda harsh with my words.

'Of course. It's about my product." He paused..

'What about it?" I asked with my eyebrows arched.

He cleared his throat. 'I need to get that approval now. You can tell that the product is not harmful." His eyes were filled with desperation as he glared at me.

I glared at him for a minute… ‘Why the sudden rush?' As that question echoed in my mind, I knew Mr Francis couldn't be trusted in any way.

'Why are you silent?" He asked. His eyes peered into mine while his heart was desperately pleading.

His thick voice called my attention and I glared at his eyes. 'Mr Francis. Why are you in a rush? We had an agreement, didn't we?" I arched my eyebrows while I swallowed down the saliva in my mouth.

As he was about to speak, 'argh shin!" I covered my mouth with my hand and I sneezed out heavily. Spitting out saliva into my palm.

'I am sorry about that. You must have caught a cold." Francis glared at my face with concern. He raised his hand and he indicated to the waiter to come.

'I am sorry about that." I sniffed the catarrh in my nostrils. ‘When did this start?' I gave it a thought but I didn't get to worry myself further.

Footsteps of the waiter echoed silently as he reached our table. Francis heightened his gaze. 'Get a hot coffee for the both of us." He ordered.

'Thank you." I appreciated himself because I knew he did this for me since I have a cold.

'Of the truth, we agreed. But you've been using the product for quite some days now and there are no side effects. That should tell you how original it is." His voice was imposing. Though his explanation was tenable, I can't stand to approve the product to the general public.

'You've been waiting for some days now. It won't hurt if you wait till the month end as agreed." My voice was rigid and I wasn't willing to bend my decision.

‘He might want to rush the process because he knew his product was bad.' Having that thought in my mind. My decision remained unwavering.

'My company is going to go bankrupt before the month ends. I am in an urgent need for money. Why can't you just consider helping me? I promise that you won't regret your actions." His emotions throbbed and the veins on his neck were visible. He kept taping one of his fingers on the table and he hoped he could convince me.

But I do not care if he was losing his company. 'I am sorry, Mr Francis. if you can't wait till the end of the month, I can't help. You can produce another product." I spoke rigidly.

And a sense of frustration washed on his. 'why are you like this?" His tone became heavy.

The waiter came back to the table with the coffee. As soon as it was placed, I picked it up… 'This conversation is over. I am out of here!" I stood up on my feet with the coffee in my hand and I started pacing out of the restaurant.

'God damnit!" He exclaimed in frustration, hitting his hand on the table.

I could hear his loud voice but I do not care about what happens to his company. If he had laid a good foundation previously, this wouldn't be happening to him either.

My driver opened the door and I stepped inside of it. 'Take me home!" I sat back in the car and relaxed my head. ‘Mr Francis… you can't get into my head with those emotions.' Flashes of memories of each of his words replayed in my head.

‘He must be telling a lie.' I convinced myself to believe that. And my car stopped at the front of my house. The driver opened the door and I stepped outside.

I took a walk back into my house and relaxed until I slept off.

The next day.

'Phone rings aloud!" The noise of my phone startled me awake from the long and peaceful sleep.

I picked up my phone to check who was calling me. Upon checking, it was a call from the TSC TV broadcasting station. And my eyes got a glimpse of what time it was.

‘What the fuck?' My eyes bulged in shock. I didn't know I slept for such a long period of time. ‘Gosh!'

I had to pick up the call. 'Hello."

'Hello, Miss Jane. Our program will be starting in less than thirty minutes. We are waiting for you." She informed me.

'I will be with you shortly." After my words, I ended the call and I puffed out a heavy breath.

‘What the fuck is wrong with me by the way?'
