Jane's POV
I shot a skeptical glare at them. My eyes glinted across their body. ‘What are these two up to?' My head was black and my thoughts were clear about what they might think of doing.
I was taken aback by their statement … 'A deal I can't reject? What did you mean with that statement?" I arched my eyebrows while I stared at their faces.
'Can you please check the document before you?" His voice was deep and bright. I puffed out a heavy breath from my nostrils and I took the document by hand while I maintained my gazes on their faces.
There was tension within me as my heart remained blank and obsolete about what might be inside of the document.
I opened it and I started reading through what was inside the document.
‘Sixty billion would be credited into my account with this simple project?' I was taken aback with what I read but I managed to read through the whole clause.
And after I was done, I shot a glare of disbelief at their faces.
'What you just read is real and we are going to transfer that amount to you right now. You just need to sign on the document to show you accepted the project." Roberto expressed pleasantly. His lips were moulded with a smile.
'Okay." Since there was nothing looking shady in the document, I append my signature at once.
And tossed the document back to them. 'Thank you. You will receive an alert as we take our leave."
As Roberto said those words and was about to take his leave…
'But you haven't given me the project." I indicated, thinking they might be forgetting that.
'We are just giving you this money upfront. By tomorrow, we will handover the project to you." He explained further.
My tensioned heart became calm. I watched them until they were gone. After they left, I kept wondering. ‘Maybe it's a blessing.' I had that in my heart.
After a few minutes my phone started ringing and when I checked, I realized the call was from a police officer.
I picked the call. 'Hello, what is it?" I snapped with brute in my voice.
'Hello, we are sorry to disturb you. Your attention is needed at the police station?" He informed me.
And I was only in suspense … 'But why?" I asked with a lump formed in my throat.
'The phone and wallet of your deceased cousin have been found." He gave me the needed details.
'Okay… I will be at the police station in a few minutes." I replied to him and ended the call at once.
I gnorted with ease because that was just good news but I was skeptical about going… ‘Let contact General Gaza.' I put a call across to him after the thought.
'Hello, General Gaza." I spoke with utmost respect when he picked up my call.
'Hello, I am sorry I didn't call you earlier. I have spoken with the police and I was rest assured your properties will be released." He explained.
My lips curved with a smile after I had confirmed he was the one behind the quick change of the police officer mind. 'Thank you so much."
He ended the call afterwards. I got up on my feet and I walked out of my office. Getting to my car, my driver drove me down to the police station.
And upon getting there, I walked into the police station before an officer approached me.
'You are welcome, ma. And we are very sorry for the delay in retrieving your deceased cousin's phone and wallet." He apologized and extended the property to me.
I shot a deadly glare at the police. 'But the police said he didn't come with it at first…" I shot a sharp glare at him.
'We are very sorry." After the apology, I collected his properties and walked away from the police station. On getting to my car, I relaxed backwards before I opened the cell phone with the purpose of checking if the police had tampered with it.
Upon opening it, I realized there was a password on it. Taken aback, ‘does it mean that the police didn't touch the phone?' I puzzled and bewildered.
I would have loved to unlock the phone right away but I didn't know the password of the phone either.
My driver stopped the car at the front of the company and he opened the door for me. I put the phone back in the nylon. And I held tightly while I walked into my office.
Relaxing against my chair, I decided to check the wallet. Upon checking, there were only a hundred dollars inside the wallet.
‘The police must have tampered with this.' I thought in my head and there was a look of suspicion on my face.
My secretary walked into my office… 'Good day, ma. You have an urgent meeting with the Blue ocean view company." She informed me.
‘Blue ocean view?' I was taken aback by her statement. Blue Ocean view wasn't a company that goes around to see people.
‘Why on earth would they be here?" I thought in my head. As I was thinking…
'Should I dismiss them?" My secretary asked at once and that interrupted me from the thoughts I had in my mind.
'No. I am coming right away." I was curious to know what they wanted with my company. I stood right up and followed my secretary out of the company.
I got to the visitor and I was surprised it was a lady that represented the Ocean View Company.
'Good day, ma'am." I greeted and the both of us exchanged pleasantries.
'Good day. My name is Violina and I represent the Ocean View company." She Introduced herself.
'Okay, Miss Violina, how may I be of help to your company?" I asked, my eyes glinting across the entire accessories she put on her body.
'The fame of your company has gone all over the world and we will love to extend a hand of partnership to your company." She explained.
'A hand of partnership seems nice but I can only cooperate with a means of investment and nothing more." I expressed myself elegantly while wearing a brief smile on my face.
'Okay. In that case, we are going to get back to you." She expressed and left my presence at once.
I watched her until she left my company. I grunted within myself before I returned to my office. But there was something my heart wasn't settling with….
