Jane's POV

'Phone rings!!!" My face gleaned with sorrow as I took my phone up to check who it was. It's the police calling.


With a slight grunt, I picked up the call.

'Hello, ma'am. Mr Ray just escaped from the hospital. Should we go after him?" The police officer asked.

'Yes and make sure you arrest him. If he tries to escape, you can as well shoot him to curb his speed." After stating that, the police officer ended.


‘I guess this should be his last card and he is not going to escape.' I was in thoughts, even though I was trying my best to be very calm in this situation.

‘I just sincerely hope that the police catch Ray.' I grunted with displeasure as I took a seat on the chair in my office.


My door creaked and my secretary walked in with a young man beside him. He has curly hair, average in height, thin and handsome.

The wave of air cut across is curly air as both of them stepped into my office.

'Who is this man beside you?" I asked while I arched my eyebrows.

'Ma'am, Meet Stephen, a computer genius. I told him about the attack on our company and he said he could be of help." My secretary informed me.

I grunted silently, taking a glance at him. 'Okay. I can't trust a stranger with my company's information." I said.

'You can give me an agreement form to sign, ma'am." He said with confidence.

'Okay. How much do you charge for this?" I asked him.

'Three million dollars." He responded elegantly.

'We do not have much time for formalities. I will pay you three million dollars if you can stop the hacking." I faced my secretary, 'thank you for bringing him. Take him to the cyber room."

'Okay, ma." My secretary left my presence and took the young guy to the cyber room.

I was in the office, sitting down desperately and hoping to hear good news.

My phone beeped… and when I checked, it was a message from my bank… I received an alert of the billions that were diverted from my bank earlier.

My agitated mind became calm. Quickly, I rose to my feet and decided to go and meet the cyber expert with my phone in my hand.

Another beep came in and to my surprise, an additional sum of millions raked into my account. Obviously I knew that wasn't my money and that made me heightened my gaze.

Another beep came into my phone and I realized it was a code. I walked into the cyber room to find him working very hard.

'Stephen, are you done?" I asked him.

'I am almost done. Hold on." He said, and continued doing his work.

His cyber security team was seated and working on some other things. After two hours, Stephen was done.

'Ma'am. I got your system back from the hackers and not only that, I created a firewall that they can't penetrate. On your phone is a code, and that code is a second step verification that a third party needs to get access to your account. Do not communicate this code to anyone. Also, since the hackers are brutal, I diverted all the money inside their account into your company's account. You are safe now." He detailed with a half-smile on his face.

I puffed out a heavy breath from my nostrils. 'Thank you so much, Mr Stephen. I hope I won't get this kind of attack again?" I asked him.

And he nodded his head positively. 'You can't see this attack again, because I secured everywhere. The last person that ran a security check on your system, left a loophole which will make it very easy for any hacker to penetrate." He explained.

Stating that, I grunted with displeasure, ‘Ray must meet his nemesis.'

'Thank you so much. Meet with the HR, she will give you the two million dollars you requested." I said.

But his face went pale. I thought he would be excited but he wasn't.

'What is the problem?" I asked him.

'I want to work in this organisation. Please, give me a job." He pleaded.

I was taken aback that such talent would be jobless. He is a big asset and I can't say no to his demands. 'You have the job already. There is no reason to beg for it. Please, follow me to my office for us to discuss your salary structure." I explained.

'Okay, ma. Thank you, ma."

I walked back to my office and Stephen followed me until we got to my office. 'Please, sit down." I said while I sat down.

He sat down while he fastened his gaze at my face. 'I will pay you twenty million dollars every month." I stated.

His jaws dropped in awe and his eyes widened in shock. He was excited but he didn't know how to express his excitement.

'Thank you very much. Can I resume immediately?" He asked me with desperation in his voice.

'Yes."

'Thank you so much." He appreciated me once again before he left my office.

I dialled the number of my secretary and she showed up before me.

'Prepare the sack letter of Mr Ray." I ordered.

'Okay, ma." She responded respectfully and left my presence.

While I remained relaxed on my desk, my secretary returned after some minutes with a document.

'I am sorry for coming to bother you. This was given to me by a delivery guy. He said the package is from Mr Francis."

As soon as she said that, I knew it was the agreement form.

'Where is the package?" I asked and put down the file in her hand on my table.

'This is the package." She said, pushing the file close to me.

I picked up the file and started reading through the agreement that was there. Mr Francis can't be trusted whatsoever.

Just as I was reading through, my phone started ringing. Distracted, I picked up the call after realising it was from the police. ‘I hope it's good news.'

'Hello."

'Hello, ma'am. We have arrested Mr Ray and right now he is in our custody. The blood, the footprints were an exact match with Mr Ray. We have successfully retrieved your company's document and the drives that contain the important information from your company. Kindly come to the police station to get it." The police informed me.

Just as I dropped the call, my lips curved with a smile.
