Arabella clearly knows his feelings but she doesn't have the heart to act as if she knows everything and especially knowing that she won't be able to be with him. Her heart was still aching for Lucien and she still loves him, how can she just forget their relationship that they had ever since they were kids?

From friends, to lovers but now again to strangers. Even if Lucien treated her as if she was nothing to him, she couldn't do it because of the love she had for him. Looking at Roman, she smiled at him.


"If I ever get a chance to live a long life or if we could meet in our next lives, I promise you that I will be with you Rowan. Even if there was Lucien, I would choose you"

She smiled at him and said honestly, she asked herself why Rowan couldn't become her mate instead of Lucien so if things happened like that, she would never get hurt like this and she can swear about it.

"You promise?" moving closer to her, he asked.


Then he slowly raised his arm and caressed her face with a lovely smile on his face. Arabella looked at his handsome face for a while and nodded with an honest expression. She would do it and she didn't lie to him, she had enough getting hurt by the man she loved.

She just wanted to move on, after Lucien announced his marriage between Milena, she started to give up. She just wanted to have a peaceful life before dying. She tried for two years to be with Lucien and get him back but all she gained was nothing but pain and failure.


"I promise Rowan," she muttered.

She saw the way he smiled and his eyes, they were just sparkling with happiness. Even if the thing she said was not going to happen anytime soon he was just so happy. Then he sighed and pinched her cheek and nodded as he held her hand and looked at the forest.

"Don't let go of my hand and stay beside me. We don't know what is inside" he said.

Arabella obediently nodded at him and tightened the way she held his hand. Rowan chuckled and walked into the forest with her. As they walked into the forest, she felt that her body was becoming numb but at the same time she felt something powerful was struggling to break free.

Raising her head, she looked at Rowan. His eyes were sharp and cold as if he was going to murder someone. With a little smile, Arabella focused on the forest where they were going.

"Why did you suddenly want to come here?" Rowan asked.

Arabella's heart tightened hearing his question. She didn't know why she wanted to come here but she believed that there should be a solution for the thing which is happening inside of her body. She stopped walking and looked at Rowan.

"I.. don't know.." she said.

Then he looked at her and frowned, failing to get what she said. He waited for a while and his eyes traveled all over her body then moved closer to her.

"What's wrong with you Bella?" he asked in a low voice.

His eyes were filled with seriousness and worried, his eyes scanned her body and suddenly wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her to him. Then moving his face towards her neck, he sniffed the marking spot of her.

"Rowan, what are you doing?" she placed her both hands against his chest and pushed him away. Then forcefully smiled at him.

"What are you hiding from everyone?"

His question straightly hit her heart. What is she hiding from everyone? How can he even feel it? No one felt it before, not even Lucien. She bit her lower lip and shook her head not wanting to tell him.

"TELL ME! Bella" he roared.

He grabbed her from her arm and asked. Looking at Rowan's eyes, Arabella felt that she was scared of him. She forcefully smiled at him and shook her head.

"Why are you shouting at me?" she asked.

Her voice was broken, she felt like crying hearing him shouting at her. He was not someone like this. Then he sighed and shook his head with a forceful smile.

"I'm sorry." he patted her head and said. Then caressed her hair with a gentle smile. Arabella nodded at him and sighed in relief. She didn't understand why she felt weird when Rowan shouted. She felt heartbreak with that.

"Tell me will you? Just tell me your every problem. I will help you with everything, even if I couldn't I would just be there for you to share it" he muttered.

His voice was honest and filled with sadness. Hearing him, Arabella's eyes turned red and tears filled in them. Why couldn't Lucien say these words? Why couldn't he ask her what was going on with her? At least one lovely word?

"There's a parasite living inside of my wolf Rowan" she finally spoke.

She lowered her eyes and didn't look at him, but yet she felt the way his body stiffened. Then soon he wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her into a hug which she gladly accepted. Burying her face against his firm chest, she felt secure with him.

"From when?" he asked.

"Ever since Lucien left me" she smiled and answered honestly.

Two years have passed and now she's twenty years old. Her every dream she had with her lover was gone and replaced with pain and betrayal. Not only that, she was going to die soon. A parasite was living inside of her and she didn't even know how it happened or how that parasite entered her wolf's body so suddenly.

"So? You wanted to come here?" he asked, breaking the hug.

"The parasite inside of me is reacting to this place and I feel weird things" she muttered.

This is the first time she's telling about these things to someone and he was the only one she trusted to tell about her true condition. Looking at Rowan's emerald eyes, she sighed. Then again walked towards the forest holding his hand.

He was following her silently, but she felt his eyes were on her and they never left her. With a small smile she looked back at him.

"Not done staring yet?"

She asked playfully. Rowan laughed and shook his head as he looked into her eyes. Then shrugged his shoulders.

"We will do something to this…" he was smiling at her as he said that.

She nodded at him, because of the encouragement he gave her. Then looked into the forest and bit her lower lip. She was really scared to go there and at the same time she felt that there was something inside of it that no one would ever expect.

"Scared?"

Hearing Rowan's voice, Arabella looked at him and frowned. Then shook her head proudly.

"As the best female warrior, I'm not scared of anything" she winked at him and said, making Rowan smile at her.

She blushed seeing his adorable smile, why did she not realize that he was so damn handsome and cute? Not only that he's just so adorable and lovely.
