Rey really wanted to die.

The cell phone number he had been trying to call since earlier was not connected at all, and that made Rey think his hopes were getting slimmer. Luana left, and she is now unreachable. What was really going on?

Had Luana really planned this all beforehand?

Was that why she didn't ask any questions when Rey asked her to evacuate the mension?

Because she had intended to leave from the start?

Luana, what are you doing to me now?

Looking at his lord who was slumped over, Jovi took a step to approach.

"Master."

Without turning his head, Rey still fixed his gaze downwards. Noting his feet wrapped in home-made sandals, hoping that what he had just heard was just a lie and not real.

"Did she really leave, Jovi?" Rey asked after a long silence. Rey who was still downcast in despair, with Jovi who was also carrying the same guilt. No, even though this was not his fault, but still.

"What happened, Jovi?"

Jovi cleared his throat softly, with both hands clasped in front of his waist.

"She didn't show anything at all," Jovi told the truth. The man wasn't lying at all, considering his casual conversation with Luana earlier seemed to be leading the woman in a positive direction.

Wasn't Luana supposed to stand her ground and have faith in her master?

"I said I had to go and if she minded, then she shook her head and said she could manage on her own," Jovi continued. "She even said she wish you well with Miss Beatrice, sir."

Rey was at a loss for words. The memory of how Luana had asked him to let her go when they were together just a few tens of hours ago tore the nobleman's heart to shreds.

As it turned out, no matter how much Rey wanted Luana to stay, in fact the woman chose to step away. Leaving him behind, letting him taste loneliness alone.

He now regretted why he agreed to Luana's request to leave at that time, because Rey did not expect him to fall for her.

His replacement wife.

"Sir." Jovi's voice broke the silence again.

Rey had not moved at all, not even a glance at the secretary. He knew Jovi had done his job well.

"You checked with the hotel?"

Jovi nodded his head. Of course he did.

"They said Ms. Luana checked out, without leaving any message," Jovi explained the facts as he had them. "And..."

This time Rey raised her head, slowly. Letting his blue irises meet Jovi's bead, who still kept a flat expression on his face.

"And what?"

"A staff member saw Miss Luana in a metallic blue car," Jovi said. "It was not a taxi, but a private car."

A private car? Whose? Luana didn't have any acquaintances, other than....

Rey's chest rose and fell as he now had several possibilities running through his mind.

Was it Valerie? Or maybe... Pedro?

The nobleman's teeth gritted when Pedro's name came to mind, because he knew that was the only man who paid so much attention to his wife. Was Pedro really the one behind all this? Was an honorable nobleman like Viscout capable of this?

"Track down that man's whereabouts, Jovi," Rey growled with his hands clenched tightly. "Pedro Viscout."

Jovi did not seem surprised, as he had already witnessed that Pedro was indeed involved between Luana and his master.

"Yes, sir."

"Try to track down the car that took Luana," Rey ordered again. "At all costs, she must return, Jovi."

There was a hue of sadness that now pervaded, as Jovi could do little more than nod his head. He would do anything for his master.

"Yes, Master."

Staring, Rey's bead penetrated the dimly lit workspace. Grabbing the cell phone that he had turned to ring mode again, Rey stared at the screen that displayed the portraits of the two faces there.

The portrait he had not yet shown Luana, the portrait they should have seen together months ago.

Jovi was just about to turn around to track Luana's whereabouts when the sound of a notification came into his employer's cell phone.

Picking up the phone lazily, Rey read the contents with a fast-moving bead.

Card Notification: Dear Customers, here is your purchase for superior room at Pagoda Bay Hotel. Thank you for staying with us.

Rey's brow furrowed when he saw the notification, which was not his at all. The sound of the door closing became the backsound, as Rey widened his eyes and felt like a breath of fresh air.

"Jovi!" the nobleman's shout filled the room, followed by Rey getting up with one decisive movement. Running towards the door in a hurry, Rey still called out loudly.

"Jovi!"

Successfully stopping Jovi who was just about to drive his car away from the magnificent mansion, Rey hurriedly climbed into the passenger seat. Paying no heed to Jovi's confused gaze, Rey put on the seat belt without wasting any time.

"To Pagoda Bay Hotel, now!"
