  Blair

I looked around at all of the rich, fancy people surrounding me.

  I didn't belong here.

I watched as Zayn chatted with someone. The elegance in his posture said a lot to me.

He was one of them. He fit in so perfectly. I watched as he then gave the man a cold look and walked away.

He came back over to me with our drinks and handed me mine.

"Would you like to dance, M'lady?" He asked in a horrible British accent and I laughed.

"No thanks. I'm here with someone." I told him, looking down at my nails.

His deep chuckle came from infront of me and he sipped his drink.

"Really? He must be very lucky then." He said and I laughed again.

"Maybe." I smiled at him and he kissed my cheek, shaking his head in amusement.

Then he took my hand and led me up some stairs, helping me with my dress in the process.

He opened a door for me and when I got there, I realized that it was a huge balcony.

It was mostly empty, making it appear even bigger and it was lit up with fairy lights that hung from the roof.

From behind I felt him grab my waist and pulled me backwards until my back pressed against his chest.

I loved this side of him. The caring, gentle side. The side that actually shows emotion.

"You know, there's something I wanted to ask you." His deep voice said lowly, sending chills down my spine.

"What's that?" I questioned and he spun me around.

His arms wrapped tighter around my waist and a slight smile appeared on his face.

  He looked so charming.

  So handsome.

Then he placed his forehead against mine and I glanced at his lips almost instinctively.

That only made his smile turn into a smirk and I looked back into his eyes.

"Before I met you, Blair, the only person to ever want to see me, was my sister." He said and I listened patiently.

"I remember the first day I saw you," He paused and chuckled. "Second grade. Your braces made you look like you ate a box of crayons."

I looked down, blushing in embarrassment as he recalled those horrible days.

My braces were colourful and I would wear whatever I wanted to.

That included dresses, paired with jeans.

"I tried so hard to get your attention, Baby. Fuck, I was a loser." He pulled away and chuckled.

"But you were always in your own little world. Never caring about the idiots around you."

"That's what I admired about you the most. I've never felt this much emotion."

I walked closer to him and gave him a smile. He cupped my face and caressed my cheek with his thumb.

"Will you be my girlfriend, Blair?" He asked, staring into my eyes.

My heart sped up as I thought about it. Memories we shared, both good and bad, flashed in my head.

"No." I said seriously and he paused, his eyes darkening.

  "What?" He asked, pulling away.

"I said no." I told him, walking away and going over to the door.

"Blair..." He said, almost warning me not to leave.

"You'll have to catch me first." I said and he smirked mischievously.

"Run." He said and I grinned before opening the door and running back down the stairs.

I tried my best not to trip on my dress as I ran into the crowd.

I stopped when I was sure that I was safe and watched as Zayn came down the stairs.

His eyes scanned the crowd and I ducked behind an old lady.

She looked down at me weirdly and I flashed her a smile.

I glanced back in the direction that I last saw Zayn, only to find that he had vanished.

The last time this happened, he sc-

"Got you." His deep voice came from behind me.

I let out a quiet scream, trying not to attract the attention of those around us.

I held my hand over my heart and tried to calm my breathing.

He opened his arms and I willingly stepped into his embrace.

Placing my head against his chest and listened carefully to his heartbeat.

It was slow, but it was beating harshly in his chest.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and looked up into his silver eyes.

And slowly, everything around us didn't matter anymore.

It was just Him and I.

We swayed to the soft music in the background, dancing together.

"Mine?" He asked, smiling slightly at me.

"Yours." I told him and he smiled wider, leaning down and kissing me.

This kiss meant the world and more. The emotions in it were very strong.

His arms tightened around me as he kissed me deeply, our lips moving in perfect sync.

He swayed me again and I smiled, so did he.

This moment felt so perfect, I felt as though nothing in this world could ruin it.

But I was wrong. So, terribly, wrong.

A loud gunshot resounded through the room. Only a single one.

Shocked, scared screams rose from around the room and I looked around wide-eyed.

  "Zayn let's g-" I stopped when he didn't move.

I looked up at him and he stared back down at me blankly, not moving.

That's when I looked down and screamed loudly. A single drop of blood fell to the ground behind him.

As another fell, I realized what happened and tears immediately came to my eyes as he looked at me.

"Zayn! Oh my-" He cut me off by placing his finger over my lips.

"Shh. It's okay, Baby." He said, collapsing slowly onto the floor.

I went down with him, tears rolling out of my eyes as I watched him bleed.

Placing my hand on his face, I tried to comfort him.

He placed his hand over mine and smiled weakly at me.

"I..finally got what I needed, Blair." He said, closing his eyes briefly.

Then he placed his hand on my cheek and wiped away a tear.

"I love...you, Miller." He said and I smiled through my tears at him.

He pulled my face down and kissed me, before he went limp in my arms.
