Lucifer
I pulled up to the curb and turned off the car, checking the time on my watch.
3:27 a.m
Sighing, I pulled out a cigarette and got out, lighting it and leaning against my car.
Today was the day of the Ball and I had big plans.
The Ball wasn't why I felt a pinch of anticipation. It was her.
Finishing my cigarette, I put it out with my shoe and retrieved my gun from my waistband.
Walking down the street, I looked for the house that matched the description I was given.
My men could do this. But anything that involves killing? That's my job.
I spotted the house and walked over to the side of it. Then I sat on a rock in the darkness, waiting.
This fucker better be here soon.
Right on time, his car pulled into the driveway and I smirked darkly.
As he got out of his car, he looked down at his hands briefly, making sure he had the right key.
But then he glanced in my direction and he dropped everything.
Ah, that's right. My eyes could be seen in the moonlight.
Rolling them, I got up and walked out of the darkness.
"Lucifer! How can I help you?" He asked quickly, backing away.
I stopped and looked at him coldly.
"I'm here for the tea party." I said sarcastically.
Then he paused and I knew what was coming. He picked up his briefcase and threw it at me.
I dodged it and he backed up until he was in the middle of the road.
"Help! Somebody please!" He screamed, tripping and falling on his back.
"Nobody will save you, Archer." I told him, shaking my head.
I shot him in the stomach and he screamed out in agony.
He screamed louder and more blood started flowing.
I gave him a sad look before crouching down to his level and placing my hand over the wound.
I put pressure on it and he looked at me, confused and thankful.
Then I added more pressure. And more. Then suddenly, my hand was inside the wound.
I twisted it, watching as his back slammed against the hard road and he pounded his fists on the ground in pain.
Pulling my hand back out, wiped it on his shirt and pressed my gun against his cheek.
I pulled the trigger, watching as the bullet ruptured his jaw.
His eyes were still opened as he took his last breath.
Getting up, I walked down the street toward my car.
I got in and started it before peeling out. I checked the time and sighed.
4:15 a.m.
I drove around in circles until sunlight peeped over the horizon.
Only then did I go home. I parked and got out of the car before going inside.
"Master Lucifer, welcome home." David said and I nodded.
"Get me a suit. Pressed." I told him before walking away and going upstairs.
I laid on my bed, drowning in thoughts before I felt my phone vibrating in my pocket.
I fished it out and answered without looking at the screen.
"What?" I answered nonchalantly.
"Sir, we have a problem." One of my men said.
"And what the fuck might that be?" I asked coldly, sitting up on my bed.
"Sources say that The Rykers are in town tonight." He said and I rolled my eyes.
"Secure the coasts. I want all of you out there. Now." I told him.
"Yes, Sir." He replied and I ended the call, sighing.
I took a shower and hopped back out before going downstairs to my office.
I had an office installed so that I wouldn't have to drive all the way downtown to do my work.
I sat and started completing paperwork and before I knew it, it was 5 p.m.
Getting up, I walked upstairs to find my suit hanging on a rack in my closet.
I nodded in satisfaction before putting it on. When I was done, someone came in and styled my hair.
Before I left, I slid my gun into my waistband and went downstairs.
"Sir, be careful tonight." Davis said, adjusting my tie.
I just nodded and when he was finished, I walked outside into the awaiting car.
I hopped in and adjusted my suit and hair to my liking.
"Where to, Sir?" My driver asked.
"Ms. Miller's house." I told him, leaning back in my seat and looking out the window.
The ride was silent. Just the way I liked it. Useless chatter gives me a fucking migraine.
When we got to her house, something in my heart switched and a single emotion broke through my high walls.
Nervousness.
Fuck this. Never have I ever been nervous in my entire fucking life. For nothing,
For no one.
Sighing deeply, I got out and walked toward her front door.
As I got closer, I felt my heartbeat slowing down with every step.
But I fought it and knocked on the door, before leaning against the wall and waiting.
There was something in the pit of my stomach. A feeling I only got when something bad was going to happen.
But I brushed it off and pulled my phone out, sending instructions to my men, to make sure that the perimeter was secured.
Then I heard footsteps approaching the door and I straightened myself out.
My heart started beating harshly in my chest and from the sound of the footsteps,
I knew it wasn't her.
The door swung open revealing a grinning Dale. He looked at me from head, to toe.
Something he always did to me.
"Lucifer! How are you?" He said, swinging the door open more and gesturing for me to come inside.
"Good. Yourself?" I asked blankly, walking inside.
"I'm just amazing! I hope you enjoy yourselves tonight." He said and I gave him a grateful nod.
"Also, don't be afraid to bring me back some God-Babies." He finished and I couldn't help but chuckle.
He walked away and I shook my head.
Soon, I heard her footsteps coming down the stairs and my breath got caught in my throat when I saw her.
