  Blair

I woke up covered in sweat. My heart was racing, pounding out of control.

Trying to calm it, it just kept going faster.

I started gasping loudly, my heart going into panick mode. Making it harder to breathe.

Rolling over, I grabbed my phone from on the nightstand and tried calling Dale's phone.

It rang and it rang and it rang,

But he never answered. I squeezed my eyes shut, about to give up when I remembered.

Looking for his contact, I pressed the green call button.

Pick up, pick up, pick up, pic-

"Yes?" He answered, not sounding sleepy at all.

"Help." I manged to get out before hearing immediate movement from the other end.

"Location?" His deep voice rang from the other side.

"Home." I said, closing my eyes as I started feeling light-headed.

"Blair." I heard him call faintly as I started blacking out. "Blair." He called louder and my eyes snapped open.

Air was barley coming through my airway, making it hard to talk.

  Then suddenly, the call cut.

At that point, I gave up. Closing my eyes just when I heard a loud bang from downstairs.

  What the fuck?

Loud footsteps went from the living room to the hallway in an instant, frightening me.

My door bursts open and I closed my eyes, too afraid to look up.

Tears ran down my face and I continued to gasp quietly.

"Blair." Zayn's voice called from by the door.

My eyes snapped open and I sat up, pointing to my throat.

He stared at me, processing what was happening and he nodded, pulling me up.

His arms wrapped around my waist tightly and I squeezed him, shaking.

His heart was racing just as fast as mine, yet he still maintained steady breaths.

I listened to his heartbeat and eventually, my breathing went back to normal.

"Thanks." I said quietly, pulling away.

  "Welcome." He said, shrugging.

"Did I wake you?" I asked him, sitting at the edge of my bed.

"I don't sleep." He said, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Why not?" I questioned, furrowing my eyebrows.

  He just shrugged again.

I sighed, laying back on my bed and staring at the ceiling.

His footsteps went to the door and my heart started back racing.

"Lucifer." I called and he stopped "Can you...stay?" I asked.

I screwed my eyes shut as I waited for him to say no, but instead the bed next to me dipped.

I opened my eyes and he was laying next to me, staring at the ceiling too.

"What happened?" He asked, looking over at me.

"Bad dream." I replied, not looking at him.

"Listening." He said, sitting up and leaning his back against my headboard.

"I don't know, Lucifer..." I trailed off, trying not to think about it.

"Blair. Speak." He said blankly, crossing his arms behind his head.

"Okay." I said, sitting up and crossing my legs under me.

"The fire my mother was killed in wasn't an accident." I sighed, closing my eyes.

"My father had set it with the intention of killing all of us. But when I woke up and started screaming, neighbors called the police and Fire Department."

"I was going to save my mother but my father told me to go. That he'd save her. I didn't know that he had already killed her."

My body was shaking at this point. Zayn reached a hand out to me and I took it.

He pulled me to him in one swift movement, so that I was now laying with my head on his chest.

My cheeks heated up and I sighed, continuing.

"Years later I came home from Middle School to find my father hanging from the ceiling in our living room. He left a note, confessing to everything." I finished.

I buried my face in his chest as an ugly sob came out. He just laid there, rubbing my back and listening.

"God, I miss them so much." I cried, squeezing him tightly.

"It's okay." He said, kissing the top of my head.

  Did he....Did he just?

My crying had ceased now and I just laid there, lost in thought.

"Who..killed your father?" I asked momentarily.

  He froze, shaking his head.

"Don't worry about it." He said, closing his eyes.

"Please?" I begged, watching as his jaw tensed.

"His brother." He gritted out, sighing.

"What? That's crazy! How can someone do that?" I asked, shocked as I rambled.

  "A gun." He shrugged.

I stayed silent, tracing his tattoos on his hand. His hand tightened around me and I looked up.

He looked to be lost in his own world.

  Yeah, Hell.

I buried my face in his chest and started drifting off into Dreamland.

His hand moved to my hair, playing with the ends.

  Twirling them around his finger,

Just like he did when we first met.

I smiled faintly, letting sleep take over.

  When I woke up,

  Zayn was gone.

There was no trace of him ever being here, making me believe that I was dreaming or hallucinating.

Not even the call I made to him showed up, confirming that it was a dream.

Right now I was getting ready for school.

Zayn said that he would pick me up so I let Dale leave without me.

I stared at myself in the mirror, looking at my obviously tired eyes.

I raised my arm and looked at it. Pink spots were faint on my skin,

Showing me the scars of that 'Never To Be Forgotten' memory.

Smiling at myself so that I didn't look sad when Zayn came, I picked up my bag and walked downstairs.

Just as I picked up an apple, I hear a honk from outside.

Quickly taking a bite, I walked outside and was met by Grumpy himself.

  Here we go again.
