Blair
My heart pounded in my chest as I awaited the impact of the bullet.
Expecting to hear a gunshot ringing out in the empty streets.
But instead, I hear a click. I opened my eyes to find Zayn staring down at me.
"You thought I would actually shoot you." He stated more than asked.
I stayed silent, not knowing what to say. A sudden cold breeze whipped me across my face and I shivered.
His face became serious. A stone cold expression plastered and he reached his hand up.
Immediately my reflexes kicked in and I flinched, screwing my eyes shut.
"Look at me." His deep voice demanded.
I still didn't, keeping my eyes shut as my head faced away from him.
His cold fingers slid under my chin and my head was turned in his direction.
"Blair." He called, his tone giving me no choice but to listen.
I opened my eyes and he stared down at me, never removing his fingers.
Then he reached down and grabbed my hand, never breaking eye contact as he brought it up to his chest.
He placed my hand on it, right over his heart. It was racing.
"You scare me, just as much as I scare you." He said, staring into my soul.
"How?" I managed to ask
"I don't know." He said, sighing and shaking his head. "Go home."
I nodded, glancing at him briefly before crossing the street and walking into the Café to gather my stuff.
After collecting everything, I walked outside to find Zayn leaning against the wall with his eyes closed.
I started walking away, seeing as I came here walking anyway.
"What are you doing?" He asked, his tone asking another question.
"I walked here. My house is only 2 blocks away." I stated and he shook his head.
"I'll walk you." He said, walking over to me.
"What about your bike?" I asked, pointing at it.
"I'll come back." He said, ending the conversation.
We walked in silence for a while, side by side down the pavement.
But Curious Sally over here had to ruin the silence with her stupidity.
"Why did he call you Lucifer?" I asked, earning a raised eyebrow. "The man back there." I added.
He stayed silent and kept on walking, keeping his eyes ahead of him.
"It's my name." He said nonchalantly, shrugging his shoulders.
"What?" I asked stupidly. "Isn't Zayn your-"
"Middle name." He ended.
"Oh." I said, getting lost in thought.
We reached my house and I turned around, thanking him quickly as I tried to escape the awkward tension.
"Blair." He called, making me turn around.
He looked at me and then down to the floor with his hands in his pockets, contemplating something.
Then he sighed and ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head as if dismissing his thoughts.
"See you around." He said before turning around and walking down the street.
I watched him until he turned the corner, then I went inside.
I walked into the kitchen to find a note on the counter from Dale, saying that he'll be home late.
So I ate alone in the dining room and went upstairs in my room and took a shower, before going to bed.

I leaned against my locker talking to Dale and the school doors opened, revealing a Greek God.
Zayn.
Immediately I looked away.
I had convinced mysef that all Zayn would do is use me.
And for some reason, I agreed.
With myself.
Zayn looked in my direction and I kept my gaze away from him, watching from the corner of my eyes as he kept staring.
Then he shook his head and walked away.
"He looks angryyy." Dale sang, clapping his hands in amusement.
"What did I get myself into?" I asked, rolling my eyes and slamming my locker shut as the bell rang.
"That's all on you. I'd have his kids if he even breathed in my direction." Dale said, winking.
"That's gross. I'll see you later." I said, hugging him.
"Later, Bunny." He replied, kissing my forehead.
I got to class and took a seat in the back, making sure that all seats next to me were taken.
Class started and in the middle of the Teacher explaining our assignment, Zayn came in.
"Mr. Santiago. Detention." The teacher said angrily.
"Paul. Go fuck yourself." Zayn said calmly, walking away as snickers came from around the room.
He came straight in my direction and stared at the boy sitting next to me.
Nodding rapidly, the boy got up and walked to another seat.
Zayn sat next to me, not even bothering to face the teacher as he began staring at me.
I shifted in my seat as he kept looking at me angrily, the vein in his neck popping out.
I kept my eyes straight ahead, taking down notes as the teacher spoke.
"You're avoiding me." He stated, looking away.
I didn't answer, trying to tune him out.
"Why?" He asked, still not looking at me.
And again, I ignored him and continued writing.
"Okay." He said, standing up.
He walked out of the class, slamming the door as he left, startling everyone. Including myself.
A few moments later, through the window, I could see him hop onto his bike and speed away.
I sighed, feeling slightly guilty for upsetting him.
I continued taking notes and soon enough, class was over.

"And you said he just left?" Dale asked as I sat next to him on the bleachers, eating lunch.
"He did. It's my fault. I made him feel like he did something wrong." I said, sighing.
"Oh no, Baby. It is your fault. That man wants you and you're being an idiot. Fix it." He said.
"But-" I was cut off by a smack on my head.
"But nothing! Poor Lucifer is lonely." He scolded, making me laugh at the use of Billie Eilish's lyrics.
"Did you just-"
"Yes I did." He said proudly, wiping his hands before looking at me
"Okay I have to bounce before coach bites my balls." He said, standing up and pulling me into a hug.
"I'll see you later, D." I smiled, kissing his cheek.
"Apologize to that man." He said, already jogging down the stairs and onto the field.
How the hell am I going to do that?
