Talia's POV

I ran so fast, the bottom of my feet nearly touched my head. For sure, they knew someone was there and I knew it would be a matter of seconds before Landon came out with his gun.

I raced to the palace so Nadia wouldn't beat me to it. I had to tell Vance something.

Or maybe Vance wasn't the one to talk to. I decided I was gonna talk to Tracy.

The palace looked less guarded. The palace I knew as Luna of Moonstone was far less reachable than what was then.

I took my chances and snuck into the main building. It was as quiet as a graveyard. Most of Moonstone was anyway.

I still knew the way to Tracy's room, so I headed straight there.

It was locked, as I presumed, but not from outside, from the inside.

I was hearing sounds that didn't make sense, in a very shaky intonation.

If she was any younger, I'd have immediately suspected that she and Vance were doing it while Nadia was away.

I knocked, interrupting her, unapologetically.

There was no answer, but I didn't hear anything from inside anymore.

Impatiently, I knocked again.

'I'm on my way, Sir." She answered. I was happy that she assumed it was Vance at the door.

If she knew I was the one, there's no way in hell that she would ever open up.

'Your Majes… Wh, What are you up to?" She asked, looking very bewildered.

'I'm sorry I'm interrupting," Before I even opened my mouth, she almost already closed the door in my face. Save for the fact that I had one booted foot in already.

'You don't have to be sorry, you just have to go!" She shot at me. She didn't even bother to mask her displeasure.

'If I didn't have a mission, I wouldn't be here, would I? Why not let me finish and leave you to your..your…what was it you are doing again?" I asked her.

'None of your business. That's what I was doing, none of your business." She replied very sarcastically.

'Well, alright old lady. You don't have to be so sneaky any more." I started very melancholy. She looked so confused that she let her guard down and let me in.

'What does that even mean? Sneaky about what? Who the fuck are you?" Tracy asked in rapid succession. Her voice was already raised and I risked getting found out by one of the guards.

'Okay, one question at a time, lady! The first one, you'd know soon. The second, ermm, this! And lastly, the girl you feed below Vance and Nadia's room." My statement sparked a lot of hatred for her. I had already stylishly threatened to expose her white lines, which he she had arranged into about ten rows set for sniffing. Then I called the people she served by name, no one ever does it.

I could also imagine that I interrupted at the wrongest of times, just went about to fly high. Not like she wasn't already.

Her eyes were red with hate for me as she bolted the door behind and sat into the chair opposite me.

'What do you want? And please don't think you can fool me." Her voice was far lowered and very grave.

'I just want to let you know certain things. I'm on a journey where no one knows all about me, no one. Everyone who does has died. I also happen to know certain things that might be risky. Too risky to keep to myself." I replied to her.

'And you want to tell me? Isn't that selfish? Making me a victim alongsides you? Do you have something very bad coming for you? Am I supposed to be the distraction? Why can't Vance help you instead." Her voice was not confrontational, just matter of fact.

Before I could even wrap my head around it to answer all those questions, we heard another knock.

Both of us froze to death.

The knock came again. Just once this time. We both knew it had to be Vance.

I threw a cloth over her drugs while she unbolted and let him in.

As soon as he walked in, I rose to my feet with my face down.

'Come on. Don't be like that." He teased.

The last time I saw Vance dressed so casually, I was the only one he used to have sex with.

As if on cue, he threw the blanket that I threw on Tracy's drugs open, revealing the muddled up white lines.

'Where's it?" He asked, motioning with his hand. I still do not know how Tracy knew what he was referring to, but she brought out a bill and handed it over to him. He didn't even seem pissed that she was using money for that kind of stuff. He rolled it up, looked through it in my direction, and tapped it.

Next he asked me to shift, balanced himself properly on her shaky bed and started like a pro. ‘Pro' seemed like an understatement, after the expertise he showed in sniffing them all up.

'Now, where were we?" He asked us both.

We were both shocked and stunned. I'd say Tracy was a little pained.

'I was just uh, checking up, uh ermm." I stuttered like a fool.

'Oh, no now. Don't do that. You were so full of words when I knocked. Or is it you?" He asked, shifting his attention to Tracy.

I could swear I saw like five different emotions flash through her.

'No. She just came in and said, uh, she said, err, what were you saying again?" She asked me, shifting the attention back to me.

I felt like slapping her right across the face. What did she do that for?

'You both really don't expect me to excuse you in my house, so you better get that party going." Vance screamed at the both of us.

'I was actually just leaving. I came to thank her." I dared to excuse myself.

'That's fair. But it kinda doesn't account for all the questions I heard her ask." He looked back at her.

It seemed like he was enjoying it a little too much.

Something in me had already decided to talk. But I didn't wat to tell them both, together.

I'd rather they both knew it, but felt like the other didn't, so I wouldn't get played by both of the.

I had begun debating whether to tell him or not. Or whether to ask him to come out into the hall way and let Tracy believe I took that one for the team.

I decided that the later option was the best and wanted to call him out.

'Uhm. Can we please go into the hallway? I kinda disturbed her sleep and I don't want to cause a nuisance any longer.?" I suggested to him.

'Seems this is where the party's at." Nadia announced her entrance.

All of us were scared to death, except, of course, Vance.

It's the first time I'd been with her so up close since what happened, happened.

She threw her thin arms on Vance, just a second before he threw them away, making her yelp.

She looked high, very very high.

'Where have you been?" He asked her in a very thundrous voice.

'Come on baby. Don't be like that. What do you mean?" She whined and wanted to throw herself on him again.

He slapped her squarely across her face and held her head up roughly with her hair.

Her eyes were bloodshot, and she was bleeding from her nose and mouth.

I debated if it was a good time to just say everything, confess it all to Vance so we all could have our happily ever after.

Then I remembered that Landon would still very much be on the loose and I would just have ratted myself out for nothing. The last thing I wanted was to scatter my enemies. I liked the proximity, it was good for all of us.

I ran out as fast as I could, leaving all the drama behind, but not before telling Tracy to see me in the morning where she knew I'd be.
